Hachiko: A Dog’s Tale of Love and Loyalty
Hachiko was a white Akita dog who lived in Japan in the 1920s. He was the loyal pet of Professor Hidesaburō Ueno, who taught at the Tokyo Imperial University. Every day, Hachiko would accompany his owner to the Shibuya Station and wait for him to return from work. One day, in 1925, Ueno died of a brain hemorrhage while giving a lecture and never came back. Hachiko, however, did not give up on his master and continued to wait for him at the station every day for almost 10 years until his own death in 1935. Hachiko became a symbol of loyalty and fidelity in Japanese culture and was honored with statues, movies and books

Gorilla Carries 3-Year-Old Boy to Safety in 1996 Incident | Brookfield Zoo
In 1996, an unidentified 3-year-old boy slipped away from his mother, climbed over a barrier, and fell into the Gorilla Enclosure. Due to the 20 ft fall, the boy broke his hand and suffered a deep laceration to his face.
Seven gorillas inhabited the enclosure. Gorillas are known to be fiercely territorial animals. They will fight to the death to defend their families.
However, one of the gorillas, called Binti Jua, meaning "daughter of sunshine", went over to the boy and cradled him in her arms, all while her own young child was on her back.
She then went over to the edge of the enclosure and waited for the zookeepers to come and collect the child. Binti handed the child over peacefully before returning to the rest of the gorillas.
Binti received worldwide praise and received regular treats for the next few weeks. The boy and the mother have never been identified, but the boy did stay in a hospital for 4 days.
Animal behavioral experts claim that Binti used her maternal instincts to look after the child. This may have been influenced by the fact that she had her own baby Gorilla with her at the time, named Koola.

Researchers investigate the remains of a 15-year-old mummy named "La Doncella" who resided within the Inca Empire. They believe this young individual was selected for sacrifice and bestowed the honor of dwelling alongside the gods. Remarkably, her frozen body endured for 500 years. Discovered in 1999 at the formidable height of 22,000 feet atop Mount Llullaillaco, the mummy of "La Doncella" stands as one of the most exceptionally preserved ever found. The internal organs remain intact, blood still lingers within the heart and lungs, and the skin and facial features exhibit minimal signs of damage.
