The Amazing World of Honey Bees
The Amazing World of Bees
Have you ever stopped to wonder about the incredible world of bees? What do these little creatures look like? How do they communicate? What are their abilities and contributions to our ecosystem? Let’s take a look at a few fun facts about bees!
Bees have been around for over 100 million years and there are over 20,000 known species of bees. They are an essential part of our ecosystem, as they pollinate flowers, fruits, and vegetables. In fact, it is estimated that one-third of the world's food supply depends on pollinators like bees.
Bees communicate with each other through a dance called the "waggle dance." This dance helps them to transmit information about food sources and other important areas for their colony. They can fly at speeds of up to 15 miles per hour and have five eyes that can see ultraviolet light. Additionally, bees have hair on their eyes to help collect pollen!
Bees are also known for their ability to produce honey. However, they also produce other products such as beeswax and propolis (a sticky substance used to seal gaps in the hive). Finally, bees are social insects and live in colonies with a strict hierarchy.
Here’s another fun fact – the sweet treat produced by bees is the only food that contains natural elements and enzymes which never spoil or rot.
Finally, honey is an impressive source of antioxidants and vitamins. In particular, it packs intense levels of compounds that are associated with antimicrobial properties, including essential minerals like iron and magnesium.*
From their millions of years on earth to their amazing contributions to our environment, there is no denying that bees are fascinating creatures! We hope this blog has given you a better understanding of these hardworking insects, and why they deserve our admiration and respect! Rats Love Being Tickled!
Who doesn't love a good tickle? It turns out that rats do as well! A 2016 study found that when you tickle rats, they emit tiny high-pitched rat giggles. This may come as a surprise to some people, especially those who think of rats as cold-blooded disease carriers. But it shouldn’t be too surprising when you consider the fact that animals have been known to show emotion and even have relationships with humans.

Are we all becoming White Walkers? Or is it something else? It turns out that the average adult body temperature has dropped to about 97.9 degrees Fahrenheit over the last few decades. Who knew?! So, if you're feeling a bit chilly, now you know why! But don't worry - it's totally normal and nothing to be alarmed about. Just bundle up and keep warm.
