Black Sea grain deal: Russia says it has suspended participation

El Banco de Inglaterra ha anunciado este jueves una subida de los tipos de interés de 0,75 puntos porcentuales, hasta el 3%, el nivel más alto desde diciembre de 2008. Se trata del mayor incremento desde 1989, según los analistas.
El Comité de Política Monetaria del banco emisor inglés ha votado por mayoría a favor de este incremento en el precio del dinero como medida para controlar la inflación interanual en el Reino Unido, que se sitúa en el 10,1% frente al objetivo oficial situado en el 2%. Se suma así al movimiento del Banco Central Europeo, que incrementó los tipos 0,75 puntos el pasado 27 de octubre.
En su comunicado, la entidad ha indicado que el Reino Unido está camino de entrar en una recesión que puede ser prolongada, aunque ha adelantado que espera que la inflación baje significativamente a partir de mediados de 2023.
