Episode 165 - Health Heroes! Ever since I attended the Hippocrates Wellness Center in West Palm Beach Florida in 2011 I keep meeting others that have also been there. One of those people is Karin Farfan. Karin was an actress from Columbia that decided to go plant based to improve her health and it worked in the beginning but long term her health started suffering slightly and became underweight. Then after advice from some friends she ended up attending Hippocrates Wellness Center which is also plant based. Karin quickly learned the difference between living foods like sprouts versus raw foods and cooked foods. Once she started adding in living foods she started gaining back her healthy weight and her overall health improved dramatically. Now she is a full time health coach in Miami helping people live their best life. Besides the coaching she also does food prep for people in her local area. What I liked about her story was that she was one of the few people that really embraced health before there was a major issue. We are seeing that more and more today which is refreshing, where people aren't waiting until they are super sick to change. Episode 164 - Health Heroes! One circumstance that I have been coming across more and more is when a medical doctor gets sick themselves or has a very close family member get sick and they decide to venture outside of western medicine for solutions. This was exactly the case with Dr. Dominic Brandy. Dr. Brandy owned one of the top five plastic surgery clinics in the United States employing over 100 people. Since doctors are human too, Dr. Brandy contracted cancer from a combination of stress, toxins and lack of nutrients. Using his intellect and reading lots of studies supporting nutrition, Doctor Brandy took the reins of his health and eventually healed himself of cancer. Episode 155 - Health Heroes! I found another amazing human being, Tony Cho, when I visited Hippocrates Wellness Center recently. Tony had a very holistic childhood as he was raised in an ashram on a farm basically and then in his late teens and early twenties ended up working as a nightclub promoter. That was a huge transition but eventually he moved on to real estate and did well there but deep down he knew there was more that he could do. Going back to his roots and the way he was raised combined with the issues facing modern building practices that literally block us from being in touch with nature Tony started projects to build healthy sustainable communities. In my life I have seen many industries continue on with the very same practices that they have been doing for decades because no one stops and asks questions. “Is there a better way?” “How can we improve what we are doing?” The building Industry has been doing the same thing for a long time. And many of the building practices are made with unsustainable chemically laden products that are horrible for the people inhabiting those buildings. With the high amounts of pollution we already have and no end in sight for population growth, it is imperative that we start thinking and doing everything we can to stop pollution and changing how and what we build with is a huge way to start giving the earth a break and create healthy environments for us to thrive. Episode 153 - Health Heroes! A few weeks ago I was fortunate enough to go back to the Hippocrates Wellness Center and meet a whole bunch of like minded people that were all into self healing and living a happy life with contribution. I met doctors, personal trainers, athletes, nurses and various wellness practitioners… It was amazing! One of the people I met was Kona Wilkinson, a former pro football player who stumbled on a healing device during her 17 year career as a professional athlete that helped her heal from many injuries very quickly. Soon many of her teammates were seeking the same results so Kona became by default a health practitioner for the team at the same time she was playing for them. Eventually her athletic career came to an end and she started searching for a new meaning for her life. She did many indigenous ceremonies such as Ayahuasca and Kambo to break down the shell of her previous self image and find new meaning and purpose in her life by helping others to heal physically, emotionally and spiritually. She now works full time at Hippocrates as a personal trainer and Wellness Practitioner for multiple modalities. And the best part about her is that she is a healthy, happy and vibrant human being. Episode 152 -Health Heroes! What is the purpose of life? Why are we here? Twelve years ago I would have had a hard time answering that question or I would have tried to come up with an answer that sounded good. The reality was that I really didn't know and was definitely not completely living my purpose. January 1st, 2011 is when I first was shown the truth about how to become my own doctor and learn how to self-heal at the Hippocrates Wellness Center in Florida. After taking back my power and healing my body and regaining my health I noticed something else started to happen. I started teaching people what I learned and I loved every minute of it! Along this new path, my spiritual journey also began which led me to learn to live in the present moment. By practicing this new way of life I literally became a happier person. So let me give it to you straight… creation doesn't make mistakes and creation made you. Therefore, you automatically have a purpose but due to self-limiting beliefs learned by society and by parenting, we have clouded ourselves from our purpose and our true nature which is unconditional love. If you are not healthy, happy, and contributing to others then that is where to focus your attention. Take action and improve your health. Read some books on spirituality like “The Power Of Now” and get yourself out into nature as much as possible. And lastly, go help someone and it doesn't have to be a big thing. Help someone cross the street, take back a shopping cart for someone or actually sit down and just listen and reflect back on what you heard. Just observe what they are saying without evaluating and offering advice unless it is asked for. Most people are starving for someone to just listen to them!
