Episode 191 - Hello Health Heroes! The family of 4-year-old Autumn Schall recently retained our advocacy services at Remnant Nursing after multiple ethics violations by the staff at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in Palo Alto, CA left them feeling abandoned, alone, and frightened for the life of their child. Autumn was diagnosed with an E. coli infection at her local ER. They advised her parents that they did not treat pediatric e-coli infections at this hospital and that a transfer of care to Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital for “Fluid Management" would be necessary. Upon arrival at LPCH, Autumn was labeled by physicians as a “case study.” Per Autumn's mother Hope, they then began an aggressive swarm of medications including Lasix and Diarel to force her kidneys to excrete more urine in an attempt to “mass flush” the infection byproducts. This just overwhelmed her system. Her mother attempted to advocate, demanding pacing, but physicians and hospital staff continued to fight her and ignore her pleas. Only when Autumn began vomiting blood, did they finally discontinue ONE of the medications. From here it has been a constant barrage of multiple interventions that many of the medical professionals we have consulted agreed were aggressive, unnecessary, and likely contributing factors to her declining health. When a blood transfusion was deemed necessary, the hospital staff fought any attempt by the family to facilitate a directed donation, to the point of threatening a court order to transfuse without parental consent. Autumn was placed on dialysis that included the use of Albumin, a human blood product. Her parents were not informed, nor did they consent to its use. This exposure has understandably caused her family a considerable amount of stress. The family was ready to remove Autumn from the hospital, but they have since placed her on a ventilator, impeding their ability to do so. A 22-year veteran Pediatric Respiratory Therapist whom we have consulted on this case, states that there is no justification for her prolonged intubation and that based on her numbers, she meets the standard criteria for extubation. Despite the parent’s multiple requests to do so, they are refusing to extubate her. They are keeping her heavily sedated and blaming her mother’s insistence on the use of a gentler diuretic as the reason for indefinite intubation, which carries a myriad of risks. The family feels as if they are being held hostage in this situation, with each additional intervention causing greater harm than the last. With time being of the essence, they feel that bringing their story to the media, may be the only chance they have to save their precious daughter from being the latest victim in a rash of medical kidnappings that we have seen around the country. I was just informed that Child Protective Services has arrived at the hospital. We know that this is a shameful tactic that is often used to gaslight parents and force compliance with hospital protocols. Episode 190 -Hello Health Heroes! About 6 or so months ago I had a download that I needed to help 1000 nurses get out of the sick care model and support them to start their own practice at home. Recently out of nowhere a whole bunch of cool nurses started reaching out to me even though I told no one about the idea that had popped into my head. One of those nurses is Melissa Schreibfeder who has already done exactly what I wanted to help other nurses do which is be able to love and support clients and help guide them to transforming their health. Episode 186 - Health Heroes! Another great episode for ya and this one is very specific. Today we are going to be discussing Homeopathy with licensed acupuncturist, Nick Fransen. Nick grew up on a small potato farm in Idaho so that's good because he was raised with common sense. Later after Nick started a family his son got a routine vaccine and shortly thereafter developed autism. Episode 182 -Health Heroes! Max Casa was diagnosed with a hereditary degenerative muscle disease that plagued many of his family with multiple surgeries, wheelchairs and early death. Luckily his parents decided to enroll him into martial arts at an early age to try and help him stabilize his body. Max noticed incremental improvements over the years from martial arts and was even able to play sports in high school. During his junior year he was exposed to a float tank and that experience rocketed his body and mind to a complete recovery to lead a healthy, happy life. Max and I talk about the power of these float tanks for improved physical and emotional health. Health Heroes! I love it so much when I run into people that literally infuse me with energy and turn up my light just by the way they live. Kevin Mcshan is definitely one of those people. At age 9 he was told he would never walk without assistance and had to undergo an operation due to him being born with spastic cerebral palsy which is where your muscles basically get super tight and restrict movement. After being inspired by and early mentor who told him “The only limitations you will have in this life are the ones you put on yourself”, Kevin got busy making the most out of his life. He is very much into health and exercise and has done so well that now he is a paid professional speaker and also hosts his own podcast called “Lets Have This Conversation”. Episode 176 -Health Heroes! When I was 37 years old I was completely programmed by society and was not as open minded as I thought I was. In reality I was closed minded to many things. After learning how to become my own doctor and heal myself I decided to be open to all things and at least get my own first person experience before passing judgment. A few years ago I was routinely attending a Kundalini yoga class where we were doing some extremely powerful breath work for extended periods of time. During that class My consciousness left my body and I was actually looking at myself through another set of eyes. I could actually see myself sitting in the yoga position I was in and I was completely surrounded by white light energy. I kinda freaked out a little bit after I returned to myself and that experience taught me that there is a lot more going on than I could have possibly imagined. Ep 174 -Health Heroes! When I first began my journey to wellness most of you know the catalyst was the cancer diagnosis of my friend Chalres. Shortly after we changed our lifestyle I watched a movie called “Burzynski”. This movie was about an immigrant from Poland who discovered a non toxic cure for some cancers and was vilified for many years by our own government for saving peoples lives. Thankfully his patients showed up in droves to the court hearings giving their testimonies of success and many of them picketed the Texas Capitol building protesting the state's constant harassment of Dr Burzynski. Episode 173 -Health Heroes! One of the most profound experiences of my life was attending a gong meditation yoga class. At first I thought it was a bunch of woo woo B.S… boy was I wrong! After roughly 90 minutes of laying on the ground and listening to the vibrational frequency of the gong I was totally hooked! Very quickly I fell asleep and 90 minutes later I woke up more relaxed than I could ever remember. It felt like the class was 10-15 minutes long and my stress was completely neutralized. Episode 172 - Health Heroes! As a nine year old child Dr. Marc Milstein was dealing with severe gut issues that ruined his quality of life growing up. He simply got off of all processed foods and healed himself. Episode 170 -Health Heroes! Just like cars have a regular maintenance schedule, oil changes, replace transmission fluid etc. people need one too if they desire optimal health. Part of my maintenance schedule is getting colon hydrotherapy 1-2 times a year to ensure my colon is clean. Even though I take our Gut Detox Formula six days a week except fasting day, I still love getting colon hydrotherapy as a powerful method to keep my body and mind functioning at a high level.
