A night of holiday shopping quickly turned into terror and grief inside a Chesapeake Walmart Tuesday night.
A store employee shot and killed six people before turning the weapon on himself at the store located off Battlefield Boulevard. Chesapeake Police identified Andre Bing, 31, as the lone shooter. Police found him dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Motorcyclist killed in Indian Shores Thanksgiving day crash
The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is investigating a crash that left one man dead Thursday evening in Indian Shores, according to the agency.
The crash involving a motorcyclist happened at around 5:39 p.m. near Park Boulevard Bridge and Gulf Boulevard.
The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said deputies initially responded to a report of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian, but after further investigation were able to conclude it involved a single motorcyclist.

Coast Guard footage shows rescue of overboard Carnival cruise ship passenger
A missing passenger who went overboard from the Carnival Valor was rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard after spending at least 15 hours in the waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
Carnival Cruise Line tells WWL-TV that the 28-year-old man was reported missing around noon on Thursday while the ship was on its way to Cozumel. The missing man was with his sister at a bar Wednesday evening and left around 11 p.m. to use the restroom. The man did not return to his stateroom that evening, and his sister reported him missing the next morning.
The cruise line said it made announcements over the ship's intercoms, and passengers reported security searching the ship with a photo of the missing man on their phones. The Valor then began retracing his route to support search and rescue efforts.

Elderly neighbor pulled from flames in Dunedin dies
An 82-year-old woman died from her injuries following a fire Thursday morning at her apartment, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
Firefighters responded just after 9 a.m. to the home in the area of Palm Lake Lane and Rainbow Drive where they found the building engulfed in flames, the Dunedin Fire Department said in an earlier statement.

20-year-old charged with attempted murder in Bradenton shooting
Deputies arrested a 20-year-old accused of shooting another man during an argument on Thanksgiving Day.
Jahmari Mays was charged with attempted murder, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said in a statement. The 23-year-old who he allegedly shot is at the hospital in critical condition, according to authorities.
Walmart shooter left 'death note,' bought gun day of killing
The Walmart supervisor who shot and killed six co-workers in Virginia left behind what he called a “death note” on his phone that apologized for what he was about to do while simultaneously blaming others for mocking him.
“Sorry everyone but I did not plan this I promise things just fell in place like I was led by the Satan,” Andre Bing wrote on a note that was left on his phone, Chesapeake Police said Friday.
Police also said the gun, a 9 mm handgun, was legally purchased on the morning of the shooting and that Bing had no criminal record.
