Chevy Cruze Cabin Air Filter Replacement - Gen 1 - 1 Tool and 5 Minutes
Here is another quick and easy job for your 1st Cruze. (2nd Gen Cruzes are different)
This filter replacement would be part of the obscenely expensive 100k service. It doesn't have to wait to 100k to be changed. If the air blowing out of your vents isn't so fresh, go ahead and replace it.
It's a 1 tool job (2 if yours is really dirty and you need to vacuum it out). It should only take about 5 minutes to do and depending on the filter you get, cost about $25. Way better than paying the flat hourly rate at your local dealership to get this done.
The filter I used: MicroGard 4025

Headlight Restoration - Save Those Headlights and Save That Money!
Pretty much every new car from the mid to late 90s on ditched the enclosed housing headlights and went to the molded plastic casings with removable lights. Sure, they look cool, but due to their construction, they ALWAYS end up hazing up and looking terrible.
Most people either deal with much dimmer lights at night because of it, or they drop hundreds of dollars to buy new housings that will just end up hazing up at some point in time again.
In this video I use an inexpensive ($30) 3M kit to restore the headlights on a GMC Acadia. Although your car lights will be different depending on what the vehicle is, the process is still the same. Easy to follow directions and a full step by step process in this video to help you do it yourself.
The process took me roughly 30 minutes per light. Your time and experience will vary since your lights and their condition determine the amount of time necessary to achieve the desired result.
Don't be afraid of fixing stuff on yourself. Save yourself some money.

Greasy Finger Garage Channel Intro
If you have watched any of my previous videos you probably have figured out what the channel is about.
If this is my first video you are seeing, first off, thanks for stopping by. This is an automotive do it yourself channel. I'm making videos to show you how to do things on cars you may have, or that is applicable to vehicles in general, that will help you save hundreds, if not thousands of dollars.
Everyone can benefit from saving money. Plus there are a lot of things on jobs that may seem intimidating at first, but with the right tools (sometimes the wrong ones) and a bit of information, that intimidation goes away.
Feel free to take a look around. If you like what you see, feel free to hang out.

Chevy Cruze Whistling or Chirping? Watch This!!
Do you have a Chevy Cruze (Sonic, Trax or Buick vehicle that has the 1.4L turbo engine) that is making a whistling or chirping noise? Well, this video is for you. Short and sweet. I will tell you where the noise is coming from, what the fix is and how make sure it doesn't come back.

Chevy Cruze PCV Fix and Catch Can - Fix that check engine light for good!
Is your Cruze (Sonic, Trax, Buick whatever. Anything that has the 1.4L Ecotec engine) constantly throwing any one (or combination) of these codes: P0171, P0106, P0299, P0507, P1101 or P2096? Well, congrats. Your PCV in the intake is probably junk. It happens to all of them at some point in time.
Symptoms of a bad PCV system are any of the aforementioned codes, poor performance, poor mileage, too high crankcase pressure that leads to blown out seals and leaky oil pan gaskets.
The PCV design is known to be faulty with this engine and causes tons of problems of various severity. Luckily, there are people that make kits to alleviate the poor design of the PCV, so you don't have to worry about it again. (You can also make your own if you want to piece everything together.)
In this video I show you how to install the CruzeKits PCV kit as well as adding on the SuperCruzes catch can. I show you the layout for the routing both with and without the catch can so you can decide what route you want to go.
Yes is said PVC many, many times in the video. You know I meant PCV.
I also said 1 bar for crankcase pressure. I meant 1 psi. One bar (14.5 psi) would be way too high.

Is the Z28 finally fixed? - Distributor & Radiator swap in Project 'Hand-Me-Down'
Has the stalling out issue in the Z28 finally been resolved? Well, you should watch this video and find out if it is the conclusion of the saga that has been plaguing the car.
In the video I take care of the radiator leak that has existed ever since I got the car and I go over the *almost* lost art of setting timing on a distributor car and how to use a timing light.
00:00 - Intro and garage upgrades
04:50 - Radiator action
13:48 - Distributor removal prep tips
21:03 - Explanation of timing and how to set it
Hopefully this helps anyone else out there that may be running into this same issue.

Turbo Coolant Line Fix - The Reckoning
If you have watched the Coolant Flush and Line Leak fix video, you will know that I tried a quick "fix" on the turbo coolant feed line. That "fix" lasted all of 2 weeks. This video is me covering doing the correct fix for the leak. The reckoning if you will. It's an obnoxious amount of work due to a really stupid design.
Here is the original video:

Chevy Cruze - P0004 Code Fix
I started getting really crap gas mileage in the Cruze and a check engine light. Pulled the code and it is a P0004. It seems to be related to the fuel pressure sensor. In this video I show you how to replace that and *hopefully* fix the issue.
For most Cruze owners, it will be just a 2 tool job: 10mm socket or wrench for the battery and a 16mm (5/8") open end wrench for the sensor itself.

Quadra-Junk to Quadra-Hunk: Rebuilding a computer controlled Quadrajet - Part 1
In this video, I do the disassembly and cleaning of the computer controlled Quadrajet carb in the Z28. It ended up being way longer than I thought, even with cutting a bunch of stuff. The editing is a bit choppy as I was trying to trim it down and edit out all of the loud kid stuff. Check back for part 2 where I will be putting it back together and back on the car.
If you want to get a carb rebuild kit like the one I got, get it here:

Chevy Cruze Brake Change in Real Time
In this video I show you how to change the front brakes on a 2011 Chevy Cruze in real time. A lot of people are hesitant to do work on their own vehicles and end up paying way too much money for a job to be done they can do themselves with a bit of time and the correct tools. This is a Cruze in the video but in reality, the process is the same for every car with disk brakes. Just the specific details would change.
You could shave off another 5 minutes or so from each side if you don't have to battle with the mounting tabs like I did and if you don't have to hunt down a tool you left out. You would also give yourself more room if you turn the wheel out but I left it like this to hopefully let you see things easier.
Apologies for all the heavy breathing. It is pollen season. And it's a rough one.
Hopefully more Camaro videos to come soon.

Chevy Cruze No Start SOLVED!
Did the clickbait video title get you? Awesome. I recently needed to replace the valve cover gasket in my Cruze Eco. After replacing it the car would start. It would turn over but not fire off. After much playing around, I found the cause of the problem. If you have any Chevy vehicle with the 1.4L engine and it will crank but not fire up, check this. It may just solve your problem.
