3d-Printz Longboard 1000, pushing it to it's limit
We decided to see how fast we could push this longboard. We've been surprised how fast and stable it can be with the right setup. With a few extra reinforcements you can see this can be a very fast flying wing. It's also a very smooth and stable low powered wing.
I have no affiliation with 3d-Prints, but thought I would share this great 3d printable wing. Check out this design at...

3D printer belt tensioning tool
When you hear "make sure your belts are tight" what does that mean to you? "Tight" can be all over the place depending on who's doing the tightening.
I made this tool to help you get your 2mm belts close and consistent. I am using it on a Prusa mk3, but it will work with other printers if using the same type and size belts.
If you have questions leave in the comment.
Here's where to get the part file.

1:10 - Detailed look at each part.
9:32 - How to insert and removed gopro from mounts.
10:46 - How to install hardware.
17:50 - Bonus use.
I was in need of a way to mount my GoPro in multiple places without hauling around a tripod, no luck. So I decided to go ahead and design something that would fill that need. This is one of the best parts of learning and using a 3d printer, if you can’t find it MAKEIT.
Print the parts, get the hardware and start assembling! This set will give you many options when it comes to using your GoPro and my hope is others will find more creative ways to use it.
All 3D printers are different, results will very.

Magnets.
3/8 x 3/16 Thick Neodymium Rare Earth Disc Magnets.
Ebay - Best option for price if available. Do not get the 10x5mm magnets they compare to being 3/8 x 3/16, they will be smaller.
AppliedMagnets - These will cost more because of shipping especially on low quantity orders.

Bolts.
Homedepot or Lowes
M5 x .8 x 50mm long bolts
Nuts.
Homedepot or Lowes
M5 x .8 nuts
Suction cups.
Adams Manufacturing - Unfortunately they only sell in big quantities. I’m trying to track down similar ones somewhere else and will update in the commends if I find some.
I buy magnets and suction cups in high quantities for other projects I've had so it was never a problem for me.
Of course these are only needed for the option mount. If you go to the link there’s a drawing you can look at with all the specs if you want to try and track some down.

Prusa 3d printer mk3 heatbed flatness level check and fix
Here is my referral link if you would like to sign up for a Rumble account.

Is your Prusa mk2 mk3 mk3s heatbed flat? Use this simple file to check. It’s a 1 layer .200mm think sheet that covers most of the heatbed. If you check the heatbed with some kind of strait edge make sure you do it when the heatbed is as printing temperature. My MK3 and two MK3s all were not flat when at printing temperature.

This is what I use for a straight edge. Make sure to inspect it to make sure it's got a good flat edge before purchasing.

Better adhesion or sticking to PEI print surface on 3D printer

2:40 - Results at room temperature.
3:51 - Results at printing temperature.
4:22 - Modifying the PEI sheet.
If you are having adhesion problems or just want to improve adhesion on your PEI print surface this might help.
I will show you a simple mod to get better adhesion without glue, sprays or tape. You can watch how I tested the before and after and see the results.
This is in no way an alternative to having a calibrated machine, level print surface, clean print surface and good first layer. With all of the above plus this mod you will only improve your adhesion.

Prusa MK3/S SD card fix not reading card or print stopping
Here is my referral link if you would like to sign up for a Rumble account.
https://rumble.com/register/gkmakeit/
When I would insert my SD card into the slot the fit was getting sloppier as time went on. This caused the printer to not recognize when the card was inserted and would not read it. It even caused my printer to stop during prints because it lost connection with the SD card. After digging into it I found that the thin sheet metal frame surrounding the SD card was starting to "deform" from normal use. After putting this part in I haven't had anymore problems with the SD card. If you're having similar problems hope this works for you.

3D printer first layer calibration process
Here is my referral link if you would like to sign up for a Rumble account.
https://rumble.com/register/gkmakeit/
This is a 3 x 3 inch square used to help calibrate that oh so important first layer. This seems to be one of the most problematic asked about questions with new people to the 3d printer community.
If you are using a Prusa MK3
First tell the firmware which sheet you have mounted (smooth or textured) the last Z setting you set will be stored by the firmware for that sheet.
You need to repeat this process for each different sheet type you use. The physical thickness of the textured sheet is thinner than the smooth sheet.
Never ever mislead the firmware about which sheet is current. That can dig trenches across the sheet - or print in the air.
