After being bred in captivity and trained for a life in the wild, a pair of two-year-old female #pandas, including Xiao Hetao ("Little Walnut"), were released into a nature reserve in 2018. It was the first time for the #China Conservation and Research Center for Giant Pandas to release captive-bred giant pandas. Three years later, Xiao Hetao was captured by the camera for the first time and is in good health. #GiantPanda
NEW TWINS for Qinling giant panda Yongyong, the youngest mother at Qinling Panda Research Center
A giant panda named Yongyong gave birth to twin cubs at a breeding base in northwest China's Shaanxi Province on Thursday (Aug 11).
The Qinling giant panda is a subspecies of giant panda first confirmed and recognized in 2005. It has a smaller and rounder skull, shorter snout and less fur than the more familiar Sichuan subspecies.
GIANT PANDA COOPERATION: Two pandas "Si Hai" and "Jing Jing" leave Sichuan for Qatar
Two giant pandas from China's Sichuan province have arrived at Qatar in a cooperation program between the two countries. The two pandas are three-year-old female Si Hai and four-year-old male Jing Jing. This is the first such program between China and the Middle East. Experienced breeders and veterinarians were dispatched to accompany the animals to help them adapt to the new environment. A venue for the two giant pandas has been established and a professional giant panda team was also set up in Qatar with China's guidance. In May 2020, China and Qatar signed the cooperation agreement on the research and protection of the giant panda.

But,... six-month old giant panda cub Le Le has also been capturing attention,... after becoming the first to be born in Singapore.
Singaporeans have been lining up to catch a glimpse of the cub,.. some even queuing up multiple times,.. just to spend a bit more time with him.
The birth of Le Le was the result of extensive collaboration between a team from Singapore and the panda experts in China.
However,... unfortunately for Singaporeans,... when Le Le turns two,... he'll be sent to China and the country's panda breeding program.
World's heaviest captive Giant panda cub born in Sichuan
A female Giant panda cub weighing 270.4 grams became the world's heaviest captive panda newborn on record. Cuicui, a 16-year-old Giant panda, gave birth to the cub at the Wolong Shenshuping panda base at 21:39 on August 5, breaking the previous birth weight record of 249 grams held by a panda born in 2021, according to the China Conservation and Research Center for Giant Panda.
Wild giant panda caught on camera foraging, marking territory in NW China reserve
A wild giant #panda was recently caught on infrared cameras foraging and rubbing its behind against a tree to leave its scent in the Baishuijiang National Nature Reserve in northwest #China's Gansu Province. The Baishuijiang reserve is among the four main areas of China's Giant Panda National Park. The fourth national #giantpanda census, released in 2015, showed that Gansu Province boasted 132 wild giant pandas, including 110 living in the reserve.

Giant panda gives birth to twins in Chongqing
A giant panda named Er Shun has given birth to twin males after mating with Qing Qing at the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality. Fourteen-year-old Er Shun had previously given birth to another twins in 2015 after traveling to Canada in 2013. The older cub is growing faster, and both are in good condition. To ensure that both cubs grow up healthy, the staff have been assisting the mother panda in nursing.
