#394 Sweeping Changes at the IRS
The IRS has announced what it calls “a sweeping effort to restore fairness to the tax system”. In a nutshell, the IRS says it’s going to make tax compliance fairer by concentrating its enforcement and auditing efforts on higher income taxpayers, partnerships, large corporations and promoters who are abusing the tax rules.
This week, the FAIRtax guys look at the actual IRS announcement published at irs.gov and ask the question that no one else is asking. “Why do we continue to tolerate a tax system that in inherently unfair and requires billions of dollars to administer and enforce?”

#310 More IRS Meddling in Your Business
You wouldn’t put up with it for an instant if your mother-in-law tried to tell you how much of your own money you can put away for your retirement or how much you can withdraw from your savings. That’s none of her business. Yet, people continue to tolerate the IRS doing the exact same thing. And the IRS really has no more business manipulating your personal finances than your mother-in-law has.
In this edition of FAIRtax Power Radio, the FAIRtax Guys examine how changes in life expectancy could result in changes to IRS rules regarding Required Minimum Distributions from retirement accounts. If you want to take back control of your personal finances, help us pass the FAIRtax and put the Internal Revenue Service, and all of its rules and regulations, out of business.

#252 The IRS as a Weapon
Instead of merely collecting taxes, some members of Congress wish to use the IRS as a weapon against their political opponents by submitting outlandish tax change proposals. The FAIRtax Guys discuss this disturbing issue along with several other serious problems plaguing our current tax system. They also refresh their warning about the VAT (Value Added Tax) discussed in the previous episode.

#300 You Won't Believe This
In this milestone episode of FAIRtax Power Radio, we take our first look at congress.gov for 2022. As usual, what some of the Congress Critters want to put in the tax code make the best arguments for pulling the whole thing out by the roots and replacing it with the FAIRtax.
Then, the Guys dig into something truly unbelievable—IRS Publication 17. It started with a meme on social media purporting to be an excerpt from an official IRS publication. The idea is so preposterous everyone thought it was fake, but it’s not. It’s real. And it’s proof positive that the United States has the most insane, most illogical and most unenforceable tax code anywhere on the planet.

#402 The State of the FAIRtax
2023 had promised to be a watershed year for the FAIRtax. In order to secure the Speakership of the House, Kevin McCarthy had to promise to bring the FAIRtax up for a vote—something that hasn’t happened since the FAIRtax was first introduced into Congress in 1999. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, and Kevin McCarthy is no longer Speaker. It remains to be seen whether or not Speaker Mike Johnson will honor the promise that McCarthy made and allow the FAIRtax to be voted on in this session of Congress.
So, as 2024 begins, the FAIRtax Guys take a look at the state of the FAIRtax. Some of it’s encouraging and some of it, not so much.

#354 The Rest of the Story - Part 2
The FAIRtax has become a hot topic in the media, be it broadcast media, print media or social media. While it’s generally a good thing that the FAIRtax is getting this attention, there’s a lot being said about the FAIRtax that isn’t the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
The FAIRtax Guys’ series “The Rest of the Story” seeks to fill people in on various aspects of the FAIRtax that are being either suppressed or distorted in the media. Part two of the three part series deals with a theme that’s been brought up time and again—that the FAIRtax hurts the poor.

#355 The Rest of the Story - Part 3
There’s a lot about the FAIRtax in the media that’s just not true. Some may be due to unfamiliarity with the FAIRtax and how it works, but most of it seems to be deliberate misrepresentation in an effort to turn people against it.
This week, the FAIRtax Guys tackle two particularly prevalent deceptions—the FAIRtax rate itself, and how much of your income you’ll actually pay in FAIRtax. People who have learned about the FAIRtax largely from the elite media will be pleasantly surprised when they hear the rest of the story.

#404 The Income Tax vs the Flat Tax vs the FAIRtax - Part 1
The Federal income tax is insanely complicated, flagrantly unfair, exorbitantly expensive to administer and enforce, and ridiculously easy to evade. It needs to be replaced. The two most talked about alternatives to the income tax are a flat tax and a national retail sales tax like the FAIRtax.
This week, the FAIRtax Guys begin a two part series in which they compare all three options across a variety of different measures. There’s a clear winner in every case—the FAIRtax.

#304 FTPR Speaks with Mo Brooks
Congressman Mo Brooks from Alabama is a well-known figure in American politics. He is also a very strong FAIRtax supporter having been a cosponsor of HR-25 from the very beginning of his tenure in the US House of Representatives.
Congressman Brooks is running for the US Senate in 2022. He was the first, and so far, the only Senate candidate to sign the FAIRtax candidate pledge in this election cycle. FAIRtax Guy Bob Paxton recently spoke with him on a variety of topics. In that conversation, his message was loud and clear—FAIRtax supporters need to do a better job electing candidates who will replace the income tax with the FAIRtax.

#357 The Rest of the Story - Part 5
When the FAIRtax Guys decided to do a series on what the media will either suppress or distort about the FAIRtax, they thought it would take two or maybe three episodes to cover it. Well, it turns out that there is so much dishonesty in the media, it ended up taking five episodes to cover it all.
In this last episode of the series, the Guys explore a huge benefit of the FAIRtax that no one in the media is going to tell you about, and that’s the amazing economic growth that the FAIRtax will bring about.

#399 The IRS Is Coming After Your Venmo Money
Economists will tell you that there a number of different laws, like the Law of Supply and Demand, that define how our economic system works. Here’s one they probably won’t tell you about, but it’s certainly true nonetheless. “Never underestimate a politician’s lust for your money”.
As our nation’s debt soars, the politicians in Washington are constantly looking for new and different ways to get into your pockets. Join the FAIRtax Guys as they discuss a new and rather insidious way that the IRS is invading your privacy in order to transfer more money from your pocket to the Federal treasury.

#390 Brookings Looks at the FAIRtax
This past March after the FAIRtax had been promised a vote in the House of Representatives, Brookings Institute, a long time member of the Washington establishment, published an article supposedly analyzing the FAIRtax. Like many others before it, Brookings had to twist the FAIRtax into something it isn’t in order to muster and argument against it. Like many others before it, the article was full of opinion presented as fact.
In this edition of FAIRtax Power Radio, the FAIRtax Guys examine the Brookings article and once again, set the FAIRtax record straight.
