We believe this was the same transient that walked into our house last year. Didn't work out so well this time. see linked video below. This guy broke into a house down the street and made it all the way to the back bedroom. He then proceeded to break a window out of a car which you can hear at the beginning of the video. The owner of the car came out as he was walking away and followed him while on the phone to 911. They also directed the Sheriffs towards our house. The gate was locked, not dead bolted but locked. The gardener is the only who uses this gate and was just here the same day. It is usually dead bolted. The axe hit was just right above the handle. The car is behind locked gates and was unlocked. In this situation ONLY, it worked out as we didn't have to replace windows or clean up the glass. A little blood but no glass.
