The Unreliable Pressure-Sensitive Paint System
Future vehicle designs will need to carefully measure the entire picture of air flow in order to reduce the consequences of unstable air. This problem is being addressed by NASA's Aerosciences Evaluation and Test Capabilities Portfolio Office (AETC). The Unsteady Pressure-Sensitive Paint System was developed by AETC in collaboration with industry stakeholders. For wind tunnel vehicle testing, this system makes use of cutting-edge technology to detect and show erratic airflows in close to real-time. The precision of the approach may be improved, and data processing is 10,000 times faster.

Mars Research Laboratory Curiosity Rover Animation
In August 2012, the Curiosity rover arrived on Mars thanks to the Mars Science Laboratory mission, which had its launch in late 2011. The rover has a number of equipment to investigate the geology, environment, and possibilities for life on Mars. It descended perfectly into Gale Crater using a special "Sky Crane" landing method. The information gathered by Curiosity has greatly improved our understanding of Mars.
