The Ballistic Advantage Hanson performance series barrel 16" 5.56 nato is by far my favorite AR 15 barrel. It comes standard with a pinned gas block that helps keep the block in place under heavy fire and stress. All Hanson barrels come standard with pinned gas blocks.

Recommended upgraded choice: Athlon Helos BTR gen 2 4-20ffp

Holosun HS403C red dot review: I think there are better options.
I purchased this optic for my home defender rifle project. Unfortunately I did not do my homework prior to purchase and felt that the optic left me wanting more. I feel that there are better options around this price point.
My detractors:
Automatic mode does not give you a usable reticle in low light or inside and is probably best suited for outdoor use.
Manual mode does not have shake awake technology and unfortunately is limited to 30,000 hrs. There are options available at or below this price that can give up to 100,000 hrs (403r) or more and failsafe.
Holosun offers more rugged designs that may be better suited for real world applications such as home defense or patrol rifles. Examples are 503cu and 515.
Alternative options:
Holosun 403r
Primary Arms slx red dot
Vortex Crossfire ii red dot
upgraded options:
Holosun 503cu
Holosun 503 green dot elite
Holosun 515 series
Vortex Sparc Solar

Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x24 Gen 2 Full Review
This is my review of the Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x24 gen 2. Information discussed is of my opinion and experience with the optic and reflects my feelings about the optic.
I purchased this scope for my Punisher DMR build. My goal was to find an affordable optic that had both close range and intermediate range capability. In this video I discuss it's overall build quality, range performance and my final overall thoughts.
Timeline:
What's in the box: 1:32
Features and specs: 2:24
Build quality comparison: 6:42
Glass performance : 8:52
Reticle overview: 11:25
Long range performance overview: 14:51
Recommended 223 load for extended ranges: 18:55
Overall value and who I recommend this for: 19:42
Overall I'll give 4 out of 5 stars. The scope build quality and optical performance was on par with the Crossfire ii line of optics so I was somewhat disappointed. However, it did function 100%, maintained zero and was able to make accurate hits out to 600 yards. So it may not be for everyone but it a good scope and should do the trick for most sportsmen. Plinkers, hunters and home defense applications are suitable for this optic. For professional applications I would recommend the Viper PST or Razer line of optics.
Best competitor: Primary Arms 1-6 ACSS
Best value alternative: Athlon Talos BTR 1-4
Recommended upgraded choice: Vortex Viper PST gen 2 1-6
