Bison Range in 4K - Beautiful Montana Wildlife Park
About Bison Range Restoration
In 1908, the federal government established the National Bison Range in the middle of our treaty-reserved home, the Flathead Indian Reservation, on land taken without our consent. The bison herd there descends from a free-ranging Reservation herd started by Tribal members in the 1800’s when plains bison were near extinction.
Through Public Law 116-260, Congress has now restored the Bison Range to federal trust ownership for the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes (CSKT) so that our award-winning natural resource managers can take over as stewards of the Range’s buffalo, wildlife and land.

The capybara or greater capybara (Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris) is a giant cavy rodent native to South America. It is the largest living rodent and a member of the genus Hydrochoerus. The only other extant member is the lesser capybara (Hydrochoerus isthmius). Its close relatives include guinea pigs and rock cavies, and it is more distantly related to the agouti, the chinchilla, and the nutria. The capybara inhabits savannas and dense forests and lives near bodies of water. It is a highly social species and can be found in groups as large as 100 individuals, but usually lives in groups of 10–20 individuals. The capybara is hunted for its meat and hide and also for grease from its thick fatty skin. It is not considered a threatened species.

Baby Geese Eating and Swimming
Baby Geese Eating and Swimming (Shot w/Nikon Coolpix P1000).
A goose (pl: geese) is a bird of any of several waterfowl species in the family Anatidae. This group comprises the genera Anser (the grey geese and white geese) and Branta (the black geese). Some other birds, mostly related to the shelducks, have "goose" as part of their names. More distantly related members of the family Anatidae are swans, most of which are larger than true geese, and ducks, which are smaller.
The term "goose" may refer to either a male or female bird, but when paired with "gander", refers specifically to a female one (the latter referring to a male). Young birds before fledging are called goslings. The collective noun for a group of geese on the ground is a gaggle; when in flight, they are called a skein, a team, or a wedge; when flying close together, they are called a plump.
DISCLAIMER: The feed was already there when he got there. Human food is bad for those types of animals. Please do not feed them with breadcrumbs.

Wild Puma Covers Her Meal in Patagonia, Chile
This puma covers her food between eating sessions in order to hide it from aerial scavengers like condors and eagles.
Pumas are large, secretive cats. They are also commonly known as cougars and mountain lions, and are able to reach larger sizes than some other "big" cat individuals. Despite their large size, they are thought to be more closely related to smaller feline species. The seven subspecies of pumas all have similar characteristics, but tend to vary in color and size.
Pumas are thought to be one of the most adaptable of felines on the American continents, because they are found in a variety of different habitats, unlike other various cat species.

Rare Albino Raccoon Dumpster Diving in Florida
In Weeki Wachee, Florida two coworkers encountered this rare albino raccoon in a dumpster.
Other than color, albino raccoons are pretty much the same as the typical raccoon.
A genetic mutation causes albino raccoons to lose the traditional black and gray color including the bandit strip across the eyes. This color goes all the way down to their feet. Many people have never spotted one because they are pretty rare. In fact, a raccoon has a 1 in 10,000 chance of being born with albinism and your chance of seeing one is 1 in 750,000 – the same as your odds of being struck by lightning- and they are so rare that most people do not even know they exist. In fact, the first albino raccoon encounter is always a shocking experience for people, some of whom may even misidentify the animal as an opossum.
So if you spot a raccoon with all-white or off-white fur, treat it as you would when encountering any other raccoon. While uniqueness is prized among many human beings it is a problem for the albino raccoons because it helps to reduce their survival chances. Albino raccoons stand out due to the color of their fur. This makes their survival chances lower as predators can spot them easily.

Otters Having a Good Time Swimming and Playing
Eurasian Otter
Member of the mustelid family. Long slender body, with a thick muscular tail. They have small ears on their wide heads, which barely sits above water when they’re swimming. They also have webbed feet for this aquatic life. Their fur is brown, changing to a lighter cream on their undersides. Males tend to be larger and heavier than the females.
Behavior
Secretive, solitary, and mostly nocturnal. Territorial by nature, individuals only tend to come together to mate. Mothers with pups are the most common social groupings of otters. Territories are marked by depositing feces (spraints) in prominent places within it.

Blue Tree Frogs Slow Motion Capture
Why would a frog species evolve such a bright vivid color that would make it stand out? In most cases the frog, such as the colorful dart frogs, are giving a strong warning to predators: Don’t eat me! I’m poisonous! Either through instinct or through learning the hard way, predators will avoid them. These brightly colored frogs contain poisons that can kill or paralyze an animal that comes into contact with it.
The frog’s skin is not actually blue. The color comes from layers of chromotophores, or pigment-containing and light-reflecting cells between the dermis and epidermis (inner and outer skin layers). A blend of the three types of chromatophores creates the color, or in some cases, even transparency:
melanophores: contain pigments that appear black or brown from melanin
xanthophores: contain yellow colored pigments
iridophores: contain reflective or iridescent pigments
So although most of the time, frogs are green, sometimes Frogs Are Blue!

Blue and Yellow Macaw Facts 101
The blue-and-yellow macaw (Ara ararauna), also known as the blue-and-gold macaw, is a large South American parrot with mostly blue top parts and light orange underparts, with gradient hues of green on top of its head. It is a member of the large group of neotropical parrots known as macaws. It inhabits forest (especially varzea, but also in open sections of terra firme or unflooded forest), woodland and savannah of tropical South America. They are popular in aviculture because of their striking color, ability to talk, ready availability in the marketplace, and close bonding to humans.
These birds can reach a length of 76–86 cm (30–34 in) and weigh 0.900–1.5 kg (2–3 lb), making them some of the larger members of their family. They are vivid in appearance with bright aqua blue feathers on the top of their body except for the head, which is lime colored. The bottom, however, is a rich deep yellow/light orange. Their beak is black, as well as the feathers under their chin. Its feet are of a gray color, save for black talons. The bird has white skin, with its face having nearly no feathers beside a few black ones spaced apart from each other forming a striped pattern around the eyes. The irises are pale light yellow.
Blue-and-yellow macaws can live from 30 to 35 years in the wild, and reach sexual maturity between the ages of 3 and 6 years.
