the most peaceful mornings, delicious breakfast, sounds of the ocean waves & birds chirping. seychelles is a truly magical place. i hope their ecological disasters in the ocean can find balance again because their wildlife has experienced a dramatic change due to human impact.

A peaceful week spent enjoying the outdoors with some relaxing yoga, long walks around the lake and forest with my best friend. Enjoy my favourite healthy quinoa salad recipe too. We ended off the week with a relaxing road trip to Parga, Greece where our dog experienced his first time ever at the beach and swimming in the ocean.

These events took place almost a year ago, August of 2021. I have finally decided to complete my short documentary in June 2022. I needed to share my story and raise awareness to the constant fires that Greece has been experiencing each year. They are only getting worse, and often times the fires are started from arsonists or political leaders that have capital agenda. Our planet is losing natural environments faster than she is able to restore herself. Wildlife is plummeting in population numbers. We need to do better as a human race. When spring arrives after the intense freezing cold winter, all comes back to life- including the energy and motivation in all the humans. We open our windows and finally let in fresh air, we pack away our heavy winter clothes and gear, deep clean closets and cupboards, purge any unwanted and uneccerasy items that have accumulated that take up space in our homes. Spring is a magical time for me, and as I reset my home to prepare it for the summer months, I explain why I currently have stopped online activism.

Besides the online bullying that comes with it, I reached a point where at this stage in my life, I don't have the mental strength and energy to try convince people to do better. I also do not want to put pressure on my own personal life to feel the need to be 100% zero waste. I am focusing rather on making changes where I can and with what my lifestyle and budget supports me in doing to make a difference. I don't eat animal products, I source second hand clothing items, and in generally I have dramatically reduced my level of consumerism.
