30 Days of Suffering with Manjaro - Don't ask about Day 1 ( First Week)
Well mistakes were made! I was challenged to run Manjaro Linux with a Window manager known as Hyprland, and some guy's kernel called the TKG kernel for 30 days... oh boy its not gone well. While Mostly Manjaro's fault I'd say there are alot of issues to unpack here. Apologies for the ranting in this episode of Distro Long Hauls but hopefully you find it entertaining to watch me suffer!

Upgrading your Kernel Linux Mint
Just a simple and straightforward video to capture how easy it is to upgrade your kernel with the GUI on a Linux Mint system using the Linux Mint kernel manager, as I’ve been having some intermittent shutdown issues with my main laptop. Built right into the update manager – no command line required!
Thanks to all the software that made this possible:
OBS Studio
Kdenlive
Linux Mint Team and their Distribution – Linux Mint!
I am not a professional, nor is this video professional :) . Just a guy who loves tech and playing around with it. Mostly a hopefully entertaining showcase of my random shenanigans. I would like to thank my brother, friends and my wife who tolerate and support me in this endevour, as well as the amazing Linux community I have met and grown with. Without them I don't know that I would even be able to do this.

For day 1 I was mostly just looking for initial setup and getting my apps and programs loaded up. I’m used to Linux Mint (whether it be LM Ubuntu edition or LMDE derivative) but in any case I’ve played with KDE plasma before so that’s not the end of the world. I’ve had to make a few changes so far but largely keeping things stock. I like a very Windows 7 inspired layout for my day to day, only putting the icons center when the display is of enough resolution to justify it.

Linux Mint 22 Upgrade & Mintupgrade tool
Its Upgrade day! Working though some upgrades but I thought I would showcase Mint's wonderful upgrade tool. Sure you can brute force the upgrade like the good old days but their tool is somewhat special and ensures that you get from one major version to another.
And now for the mountain of links to stuff and things:
Social Media: don’t need it, its garbage anyway. Burn it if you have it
Mastodon: I mean no
Twitter: on fire, poke it with a stick
Discord: I’m there but you’ll have to find me
If you want to financially back the channel, I don’t have a way right now but I do enjoy clicks subscribes & likes
I use a random assortment of software, FOSS and otherwise to get things done. Don't @ me but this is what I learned to use to do things. Always welcome to suggestions of course:
- Kdenlive (when it is working): https://kdenlive.org/en/about/
- Gimp:https://www.gimp.org/about/
- Krita:https://krita.org/en/
- Inkscape: https://inkscape.org/about/
- Linux Mint: https://linuxmint.com/about.php
- Libre Office: https://www.libreoffice.org/about-us
- OBS-Studio:https://obsproject.com/
Disclosure: If I have links, they may or may not be affilliate links. I’m too poor for sponsorships

When Volunteering Goes Wrong (Rant)
This video has nothing to do with politics or religion, just a really bad experience I had volunteering as a tech guru at our local church. An experience enough that I felt like it was worth sharing more so others could maybe learn from my mistakes.
Thanks for Linux Mint, Kdenlive for making this video possible. I hope you all enjoy or at least understand my suffering. Having a rough day so peace!

A Quick look at Pop_OS! (Gnome Edition)
Apologies for the quality, I made the decision to try out lightworks which limits you to 720 which I realized after I edited the video. Its also pretty hot here in the midwest so all the editing was done on as low power machines as I could and may not be up to the normal snuff.
Just a short review of PopOS before it goes through its new Cosmic Desktop later this year, but nothing crazy. There will be a follow up video on setting up games and getting things working like kdenlive and how that was, possibly.

Cheap Linux based NUC 11 Mini PC Media Center
A short and sweet “review” of a brand new NUC 11 from Intel. I’m planning on converting it to a media center but that doesn’t mean we can enjoy a few benchmarks as well as installing Linux Mint. I decided to make this a bit funner and see how it goes. Let me know in the comments if you like it.
