Church Matters
What's so important about belonging to the church? Why bother?
The church is God’s creation. God’s idea. His plan. God has made the church to carry out His purpose and His will. Matthew 16:18 …upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Church means congregation or assembly. It’s about being together, with other believers, participating together, in fellowship in our local church. God’s people are meant to be an active part of the church.
Let’s make church a priority in our personal and family schedules. Set your calendar activities around the church as the first consideration. Make the assembly count as your first consideration when planning your week. It’s more important that we assemble with other believers, as God commands us to, than pretty much anything else.
Assembling together with God’s people is more important than a birthday party or a sports event or a social event. More important than our own convenience or self-interest.
We should be there whenever we are physically able. And bring our family to every event that we possibly can.
The church is God’s way of doing stuff. It’s His design. God is accomplishing His work on earth today through His church, His own assembled people.
The church is important to God. He calls it the household of God, the body of Christ. Christ loved the church as His bride, and He gave Himself to redeem it.
Why should we love the church? We ought to love the Church because our Lord loved the Church. Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.
The church is also a flock… 1 Peter 5:2 Feed the flock of God which is among you… We are meant to be together, as sheep in a flock. That’s where we can be fed together and be comforted together. There’s safety in the fold.
Church is where we study together and worship together. We get together to hear the preaching and teaching ministry. We should want to get to where the Word is being preached because that is God’s will. May God give us the desire for the Word. 1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.
Psalms 133:1-3 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! Something special happens when we get together. We unite our faith together. We raise our prayers and praise together. It’s good for our soul. It’s a joy. It’s pleasant. There God promises blessing.
As believers we should make the church a top priority in our lives. God’s Word instructs us to be involved in the church assembly. Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Every believer is called to local church involvement. Be faithful.
The Bible mentions over 30 specific local churches. As Paul describes it: 1 Timothy 3:15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
The church is where believers are to utilise their God-given spiritual gifts.
We’re a community. We are meant to be together. Acts 2:44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common.
There are close to 60 “one anothers” mentioned in the New Testament. Believers are to love one another (Romans 13:8), comfort one another (1 Thessalonians 4:18), forgive one another (Ephesians 4:32), pray for one another (James 5:16).
As believers gather, we form a community that’s built on faith in Christ. We are meant to be this close-knit community. Let’s encourage one another, and strengthen each other.
The church is God’s outlet for outreach and evangelism. The church is where we launch out in evangelism, and global missions. Outreach in the New Testament was always through the church.
God designed His church to make disciples. God makes this happen through the teaching and accountability of a local church.
As we fellowship we can use our God-given gifts to serve others and lead more people to know the Lord.
The church is the Body of Christ - so it’s an extension of the Lord - He carries out His work - His will - through the church.
We are called to live in community with one another. We cannot fully live out our faith in isolation.
As we fellowship, we grow. We study. We receive Bible teaching, and can learn and grow in God's Word.
As we fellowship we develop relationships with other believers. We can encourage one another, hold one another accountable, and support one another.
Fellowship gives opportunities for prayer, and worship. As believers we work together in service. It helps build unity and purpose. As believers, we need each other.
Let us commit to being the church. A community where we can grow together and serve together - encouraging one another in our faith journey.

Is it Biblical? - Doctrine Matters!
Some churches have a flash solund system but they lack sound doctrine. Sound doctrine is faithful Bible teaching. It helps us to stand firm in our faith, strong and settled.
God warns us of false teachings. Ephesians 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine…
Satan puts evil in pretty packages. 2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears. Some people will listen to all kinds of teachers.
We must expose false doctrine. We must follow what is true.
Why does a preacher warn? Heresies can hurt the faith of believers. They're like a spreading cancer. 2 Timothy 2:16-17 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. 17 And their word will eat as doth a canker... Heresies can spread, like a virus, infecting and bringing confusion.
Peter calls such teachings damnable heresies (2 Peter 2:1).
1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
These are serious matters. Spiritual deception is toxic, devilish.
Satan has a church. Rev 2:9 …the synagogue of Satan. He is behind false religion. 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
2 Thess 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
Before the Antichrist comes we are told to expect deception; a falling away.
It’s important that we label things correctly. There is such a thing as sound doctrine and such a thing as false doctrine.
Some preachers are teaching the health, wealth, prosperity gospel. That it is always God’s will to heal. That is not Biblical. We have churches that baptise babies. That is not Biblical. Some people believe in a Pope, or calling people father. But the Bible is clearly against such things.
Some churches teach you have to do good works to be saved. But the Bible is clear how we are to be saved. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Some people teach that salvation can be lost, but our Lord Jesus says, John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
Jude calls us to contend earnestly for the faith. Jude 1:3 …ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
So warning is Biblical. False doctrine is not OK. False doctrine is sin. The devil is a liar and the father of lies.
How are we to avoid heresy? Study and know the Bible. 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Fill up your mind with His wisdom and truth. The Bible is the ultimate source of sound doctrine. It is the inspired word of God.
The Bible reveals everything we need to know about God, and His plan for us. 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
Test every teaching against the truth of Scripture. 1 Thessalonians 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
Seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit. John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth…
The Bible contrasts the spirit of truth with the spirit of error, 1 John 4:6.
Sound doctrine helps us to grow in our knowledge of God. It produces good fruit in our lives. It's practical. It’s lived out truth. We put our faith in Christ, and this affects our whole way of thinking and living. James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only... Sound doctrine leads us to a fruitfulness and righteousness in our daily walk with God. Sound doctrine helps us to live lives that honour God. It leads us to holy living. Sound doctrine protects us from error.
We have to be on the alert to deception and guard ourselves from it. Learn how to discern between what’s false and what is true.
Heresies distort the truth: they present a distorted version of the gospel. Heresies can lead to spiritual deception.
Knowing the truth of the Bible is the best defense against heresies. As honest Bible students we have to ask ourselves: If it’s not Biblical, then why are we doing it? Why are we teaching it?
Commit to a Biblical church and determine to study the Bible. Ground yourself in solid Biblical teaching.

How can you make a difference?
How can you make a difference in your world?
Moses Gozdiff talks about Australia and the political sphere, from a Christian perspective.
A lot of people who serve God stop showing up and getting involved. When you stop showing up, and getting involved, the Lord can't use you to make a difference.
Our Lord says, I'll make you Fishers of Men. We are put in this world to do the will of God. Not our will. Our Lord simply commanded His apostles, and all of the believers that followed him, to go out, and preach the truth to the world. Here’s the most important thing - the truth.
The Holy Spirit put in my heart to get involved in politics. To make a difference.
We need to make Australia great again. How do we do that? We need to bring God back into the country. Bring God back into the political parties. The Liberal party was founded on Christian values. Robert Menzies was the son of a preacher. He incorporated prayer and verses of scripture in Parliament. That's one thing that's missing nowadays.
God has always been involved through history. In the time of the Kings, there were good kings and bad kings. When the Israelites grew in numbers, the Egyptians decided to put them into bondage, and oppress them. It was gradual - like a serpent coiling. They didn't see the serpent until it was too late. The Egyptians had figured out how to strip them of their identity - of who they were as a nation. The enemy – satan – is still working hard to strip people of their identities.
What does it mean to be Australian? Who were our founding fathers? What did they stand up for? What were their values? People often answer, I don't know.
You can take that further, and ask: What does it mean to be a Christian? What does it look like to be a Christian? In deed, in action, and thought. Do we really know him?
In 2 Corinthians chapter 4 it tells how …by manifestation of the truth we commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. In the Liberal party I aim to be a light – be an influence… I am here for the truth - to bring the truth back into politics.
But even if our gospel is veiled it is veiled to those who are perishing… It's important to be led by the Holy Spirit. He will lead you to people, and you can make a difference.
We read of some, whose minds the god of this age has blinded… - they don't know who they are, what their identity is, what their purpose is. Some do not believe - lest the light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.
For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord and ourselves your servants for Jesus's sake. For it is God who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We have to give glory to God in everything that we do.
We are hard-pressed on every side yet not crushed... that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our body. We want His life to be manifested in our body. What does that mean? What does it mean to be like Jesus? We've got to manifest his deeds and actions, so that everybody can see Jesus inside of us. That the life of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh.
We do not lose heart. I know there's a lot of bad things happening, but we can't lose heart. We can't let it bring us down. We can't be complainers - we have to be doers.
You have to get involved, if you want to make a difference.
Everybody has their purpose. Pray about it. Ask the Lord, where do you want me to make a difference - in a positive way? How can we live so that people can see His glory, and want to come to it?
Therefore we do not lose heart – though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. Our light affliction which is but for a moment is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. While we do not look at the things which are seen but that the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. So let us not get distracted with our focus - which is our salvation.
Pray about it - about what Lord wants for you - how the Lord can use you. How does He want you to get involved - to touch the people around you?
There's a lot of evil coming. A lot of woke Christianity, as well. Some people are accepting homosexuality and transgender identity issues - which is completely against God.
Satan is clever. He's a deceiving angel. He says, Oh God accepts everybody. But, no, if that was the case, the Lord would have never destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.
Yet God showed mercy upon His people. Abraham asked God, if there's 50, would you spare the city? Yes. ..., even if there's five, I'll save the city. Thank God, He is very merciful. And we also have to be merciful.

A Call to Arms
I issue a call to arms. I urge you to join the war effort. Get militant. It’s time to mobilise the army.
Are you a Good Soldier of Jesus Christ? 2 Timothy 2:3-4 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. (4) No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
Endure hardness. This means affliction, hardship, and trouble. We must endure - through the thick of the fight. A soldier is willing to sacrifice and suffer. And go the distance. He will not turn back when the battle’s on
He can be depended upon... To take his post. To battle on. He will not give in.
Endurance comes as we go through trials and learn perseverance. 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; (9) Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed…
Trouble gives us endurance. We need to be ready for the muddy fox-holes and trenches. The relentless attacks. The discomforts. Most heroes of the faith have endured extreme hardship…
We need to develop a mind-set of obedience.
Being a good soldier of Jesus Christ means going to war. This is warfare. It’s real. This is a real fight. A real battlefield. We face a real enemy. 2 Corinthians 11:14, Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
This is a battle for the souls of men, women, and children. This is the good fight of the faith. This is a spiritual war. It’s a war in which the entire cosmos is involved.
A good soldier is called to PLEASE Him who has chosen him into the army – the one who selected/enlisted him. Will we seek to please our Chief Commanding Officer? Do we meet His expectations?
1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
A Good Soldier seeks to please the Commander. Pleasing our Lord ought to be the first priority of every child of God. Some conduct may be deemed “unbecoming” – not acceptable - it brings dishonour and shame. This is conduct unbecoming - and it is a serious matter.
Paul prays that Christians will walk in conduct becoming of their faith in Christ. Colossians 1:10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God…
Do we live in a way that honours the Lord Jesus? Paul says… Philippians 1:27, let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ…
The Lord wants His army to be an effective and disciplined fighting force…. Let us march forward. Let’s get in the thick of the fight for souls. Let us take a stand for Christ at any cost. 1 Tim 1:18 …war a good warfare.
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. We should be in a state of combat readiness. On full alert.
The early disciples were described as: Acts 15:26 Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We need to be drilled, trained… in the pressure cooker of life.
Faith involves combat. An active conflict with evil. We are engaged in a battle. Let us have no reservations, no holding back. Jude 3 …ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
The church is meant to be a fighting unit. This is a war zone. In the world you are going to have tribulation (Jn. 16:33, Ac. 14:22). In Christ we have safety.
We are called to Action. 2 Corinthians 5:14 For the love of Christ constraineth us... Controls us - compels us.
Praise God, victory is assured. 1 John 2:14 Ye are strong, and the Word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one. Romans 8:37 Through Christ we are more than conquerors.
I issue a call to arms. I urge you to join the war effort. Get militant. It’s time to mobilise the army.
This coming week is your battlefield. Let's go forward and gain the victory.

Words have Power!
There is POWER in what you say. The words that you say. Will we speak words that BLESS and BUILD? Or will we speak words that do hurt and damage?
Our words can build up - or tear down. James 3:6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
James likens the tongue to a wild, bucking bronco, a storm-driven ship, a raging forest fire, a poisonous viper, a bitter fountain. The tongue can be a weapon of mass destruction, tearing down individuals, relationships, and even entire communities with a single thoughtless remark. Our words can bring HURT or HEALING…
The Bible tells of the tongue of the wise. Proverbs 12:18 There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health. Your tongue can be hellish, or it can be wholesome. It’s up to you.
The Bible shows us how to Tame our Tongue. The best strategy, at times, can actually be to say NOTHING. Ecclesiastes 3:7 tells of ...a time to keep silence, and a time to speak. I have never been hurt by anything I didn't say. Calvin Coolidge.
Proverbs 21:23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles. Proverbs 17:28 Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.
Words can be hurtful, destructive, lethal. Some seem to speak a lot of sarcasm, criticism, quarreling, fault-finding.
Tongue-control is a mark of spirituality. James 1:26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
Our tongue can bless and heal, or it can do harm and hurt. Our words can encourage or discourage. Our tongue can give hope to the hopeless, or it can shatter hope.
The Bible gives us a list of the seven worst sins. Three of the seven are sins of the tongue. Proverbs 6:16-19.
The Lord shows us what to avoid... Ephesians 4:31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
Exodus 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
Proverbs 18:8 The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
Philippians 2:14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
How much better to speak words that are wholesome and wise. Proverbs 15:4 A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.
Your words can have impact. They can be weapons of mass destruction. On the other side… your words can have impact for the better. Learn how to give words that will encourage, comfort, inspire, and edify. Colossians 4:6 Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
Proverbs 16:24 Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
What should we speak of?
Psalms 26:7 That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works.
Psalm 35:28 And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.
Psalm 119:172 My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments are righteousness.
Proverbs 8:7 For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
Proverbs 8:6 Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.
Words are powerful - they can curse or they can bless. Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue… We need to assume responsibility for every word we speak. Choose wise words.
Let us choose our words wisely, and let our speech be seasoned with grace. Let us speak words of love, kindness, and truth, and let us always seek to bring life and not death, healing and not harm, with the words we speak.
Psalm 141:3 Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.
Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

The Greatest Weightlifter of All Time. Give Him your Burden.
How do we cast our burden on the Lord? Psalm 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
People can carry all kinds of burdens: Guilt, sorrows, worries, loss, loneliness, disappointments. It’s hard – being loaded up, being weighed down…
The Word of God says: Proverbs 12:25 Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.
John Bunyan wrote “Pilgrim’s progress”, a story of Pilgrim – and his journey, from his home in the City of Destruction, to the Heavenly City. The pilgrim carried a load… It pictured his sense of his sin, and his guilt…
David described his sin: Psalm 38:4 For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as a heavy burden they are too heavy for me.
Bunyan writes how the Word opened Pilgrim’s eyes… To sense the awful weight of his sinfulness…
The greatest burden of all is SIN - the guilt, the shame of it.
Here’s a good place to start to get rid of such burdens. Realise your need. The burden of sin. Romans 7:13 …sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
A Puritan writer Ralph Venning wrote a book in 1669 called "SIN, THE PLAGUE OF PLAGUES" – or “The Sinfulness of Sin”. He tells of the exceeding sinfulness of sin. It is at its heart a rebellion against God. Venning describes how we ought to see sin for what it is: “a most hideous, devilish and hellish thing, the most wicked, mischievous, virulent, villainous and deadly thing that ever was.”
Sin degrades and defiles man. The folly of it. The misery of it. In contrast, there's the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We should hate sin. Some don’t ever get the pressing sense of it. The conviction of it. When we realise our burden we can also realise the One who is the Burden bearer.
Let us see our great need of the Saviour, the only One who can release us from it. Of Him it is said, Isaiah 53, Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows… the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Pilgrim, in Bunyan’s story, came to realise the weight of his burden of sin. As pilgrim came by the cross, his great burden fell from his shoulders.
The Lord Jesus invites us to yield our burden to Him. Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (29) Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. (30) For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
He beckons - He will take off your heavy load. Will you give Him your burden? He lovingly and willingly takes our cares. Psalms 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
How do you cast it? Go to Him. In prayer. Call on the Lord from your pit. Call out, unto Him, from your heart. Cast thy burden. Cast it. Throw it into His arms. He will catch it. He will carry it. He wants you to yield to Him your burden.
Know God will sustain you, whatever it is. He is the deliverer and sustainer of His people. Get rid of that burden. Throw that burden upon the Lord!
1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. He shall sustain thee and "He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”
Our Lord bore the guilt of our sin. The Lord Jesus took upon himself all the sin – all the evil. Every bit. Every part of it.
2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us - so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.
Feel the weight of it. The exceeding sinfulness of your sin. The guilt of it. The load of it. The misery of it.
God tells us, Hebrews 12:1, “…let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us…" See it for what it is. A weight. You are weighed down. You must release it.
People are carrying burdens of guilt and regret. Some people are loaded down and we need to come alongside them. Let’s help others who are burdened and share with them in prayer and care.
John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
There is a great burden bearer. A load lifter. You can give your heaviest burdens unto Him.
Your burdens
Your anxieties
Your care
Your guilt
Lay them upon the burden bearer. Bring them to Him in prayer… No burden is too big for God. No load too much for Him to carry.
Psalm 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
He shall keep you. He shall see you through. He shall help you to keep standing.
Go to the Word - let His promises carry you through… Isaiah 41:13 For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. Psalms 34:17 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
He shall sustain thee.

The End of the World as we know it
The Doomsday Clock is now the closest to midnight ever. “We are living in a time of unprecedented danger.”
Like Noah, we are living amid a society that is increasingly faithless, immoral, and violent. It’s nearly midnight.
Proverbs 19:12 The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass.
The foundations are being undermined. A moral meltdown. God hating people rule over us. Our nation has forsaken God. Proverbs 29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
Australia has rejected a holy God. It continues a destructive slide to moral bankruptcy.
Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Schools are indoctrinating our children that there is no right or wrong. Universities are a breeding ground for humanism and New Age religion. Most of humanity is being subtly brainwashed and enslaved… they follow like lemmings to their destruction.
There’s so-called TOLERANCE for everything BUT BIBLICAL CHRISTIANITY. CHRISTIANS are stereotyped as bigoted crazies.
Everything is being redefined. Love is exchanged for lust.
A NEW WORLD ORDER is being formed. People will hand over their national sovereignty for global governance. Man has rejected God's Word. We see our society's moral decay. It is a slippery slope. The Bible speaks of sin as abomination – loathsome, disgusting.
God’s judgment is closer and closer. Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness… Sin is more accepted - even celebrated.
Ignorance and apathy prevails. There is a lack of strong Bible preaching. God-fearing people are rare. We need strong Biblical values that help build strong lives, families, and churches.
Be alert for the signs of Deception… Doctrine matters. Romans 16:17. We need to aggressively challenge the false. We must return to a real, wholesome Christianity.
2 Thessalonians 2:10 tells how those who perish are deceived in their sin… because they received not THE LOVE OF THE TRUTH, that they might be saved. There is a deliberate program of misinformation and deception. Another gospel. We need to PRAY for a spiritual awakening. We must counter the counterfeit teachings of the popular church.
God wants a holy people. There is a day of reckoning. There is still hope for Australia. Words of comfort:
1 Thess 4:16-18 (16) For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout… we… shall be caught up …in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air…
1. REASON FOR READINESS. We are urged to keep watching. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. We must ready ourselves. We’re meant to be watching, waiting, ready. Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Stay on the alert. 2 Timothy 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. Something big is about to happen. A lot of people aren’t going to be ready.
Do you love His appearing? Are you ready? 2 Timothy 4:8.
2. REASON FOR RESTRAINT. 1 Thess 5:8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober… 9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ. Something should set us apart from those who sleep. These are days that call for restraint. For people who will be sober, not drunken. Some blindly grope in the dark. Drunken, and reeling. In a stupor. Drunk, drugged, dizzy, deluded.
We need restraint. Philippians 4:5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
3. REASON FOR REJOICING. We have reason for great comfort and joy and rejoicing. 1 Thess 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. As believers in Christ we have true Peace. Joy, Faith, and an everlasting Hope.
For all of us this soon coming event will be either a reason for joy or despair. 2 Thess 1:7-10 ...the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven... The revelation of Jesus Christ will be very different for people. For some, a cause for comfort and joy. For others, a time of judgment and loss.
There’s a day of wrath coming. Revelation 6:17. Some will be punished. In some He will be glorified.
What is it that makes the difference? It matters which side of His wrath you are on.
Will we see wrath or favour? Wrath - or grace?
As it was in the days of Noah… Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
The return of our Lord is called The Blessed Hope. There’s great reason for rejoicing for the Christian believer. Great reason for joy - the blessed hope of His returning…

Perilous Times
What's the World Coming to? Global pandemics? A financial crash? There are plans for a cashless system - digital currencies. Alex Antic warns of Smart Cities.
Half of all South Australian marriages end in divorce. There’s a breakdown of the family unit. Millions are on antidepressants - “happy pills”.
2 Tim 3:1-5 …in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy… lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God.
1 Tim 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils. There’s all kinds of deceptive miracles, signs, and marvels.
Our Lord warns: Matthew 24:11 …many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. We see a spirit of deception. 2 Thess 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed… 9 Even him (the Antichrist), whose coming is after the working of satan with all power and signs and lying wonders.

Warning: Perilous Times Ahead
The Antichrist will exercise global control. There’s increasing mass surveillance, smart devices, facial recognition. We're being listened to, watched, tracked, hacked, followed, mapped.
2 Tim 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. It seems some preachers dwell on foolish stories, and fictions. Our Lord warns of deception and counterfeits. Matthew 24:4 Take heed that no man deceive you!
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences… We are on the brink of a world war. We face "the worst food crisis in modern history". The Rockefeller Foundation controls the seeds of 95% of global cereal crops. Countless farms are being shut down to save us from climate change.
We have pestilences – epidemics - horrendous plagues. The WHO warns of drug-resistant germs: “...a post-antibiotic era, in which many common infections will no longer have a cure and, once again, [will] kill unabated.”
Another sign: 9 …ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. Right now over 360 million Christians are suffering persecution. One out of every seven Christians. 2022 was the worst year ever.
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. We are told of powerful signs and wonders.
The stage is being set for the Antichrist. Australia is facing God's judgment... We see increasing immorality - Corruption, violence, and a rejection of God, as in Noah's day. Entertainment is full of obscenities and godlessness. The Cambridge Dictionary now defines 'Man' and 'Woman' to suit transgender views.
Around 100,000 abortions occur in Australia each year. We have increasing access to euthanasia. More than 10,000 people are killed by euthanasia in Canada every year.
There’s a rising of a World Government - a New World Order. There’s plans of "hackable humans." - "We can pick up and decode faces that you're seeing in your mind -- simple shapes, numbers, your PIN number to your bank account."
The Bible tells of a coming One World Government System (Rev. 13:1-8). Total world control. We have had covid lockdowns. Get ready for climate lockdowns.
The Bible describes: a One World Economy, a One World Religious System. The Beast's 666 system will mandate a mark system. There’s already biochips, planted in people’s skin. Our activities are to be monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
We see "United Religions" - a worldwide UN interfaith network. It seems like our modern culture has a tolerance for everyone but Christians. The church has become consumer-friendly, yet spiritually bankrupt.
Preparations are under way for the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem. The temple’s vessels and priestly clothing are being prepared, right now.
Australia is racing to judgment. The Lord’s return is promised 300 times. 1 Thess 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
We have a Blessed Hope - Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
“Maranatha” - The Lord cometh (1 Cor. 16:22) - This was a frequent greeting between believers, as well as the triumphant cry of the martyrs.
Revelation 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Even so, Come Lord Jesus.

Joseph
Joseph’s life takes up a quarter of the book of Genesis. Genesis 37:3-4 …Israel loved Joseph more than all his children… and he made him a coat of many colours.
His brothers hated him and conspired to kill him. Genesis 37:20 …let us slay him, and cast him into some pit… But they ended up deciding to sell him as a slave…
Even whilst a slave to Potiphar… Joseph maintained his integrity. Genesis 39:2, Joseph served in the house to Potiphar. And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man…
God counts real prosperity as something deep and abiding, that abundance of faith. Psalm 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Genesis 39:4 And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.
Joseph faithfully served - without grumbling. He did it heartily, as unto the Lord.
Purity marked Joseph’s life. He spurned the advances of Potiphar's wife. Joseph said no. Genesis 39:12 …she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out. Joseph said, I'm not going to - I'm going to do that which is right.
Here he was, a man of integrity. He had resisted temptation. And now he was falsely accused and cast into prison. He was three years there - for something he never did.
Genesis 39:21 it says, even there, in prison, the prison keeper recognised his ability… Joseph showed the power of courage, faithfulness, and leadership. He did not give way to despair. God was with him. God gave him a favour with others. He had the power of character - of influence.
Genesis 39:23 The keeper of the prison looked not to any thing that was under his hand; because the LORD was with him, and that which he did, the LORD made it to prosper.
By God’s power Joseph interpreted the dreams of two of his fellow prisoners (Genesis 40:1-23). Later on, Pharaoh had a dream and he wanted the meaning of it.
Joseph revealed the meaning. Genesis 41:38-40 And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is? (39) And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath showed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: (40) Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.
Pharaoh recognised Joseph. He appointed him as prime minister of the land. (41) And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt. (42) And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck…
God used Joseph in a powerful way. Joseph had urged the Pharaoh to store the grain from the years of plenty so that they could be ready for the years of famine. Pharaoh then appointed Joseph to take care of that.
God's providence was evident through God's leading of Joseph. Even in his great adversities God was working out His perfect plan in Joseph's life. God had placed Joseph in the place of power, as "prime minister" of Egypt, and given him the wisdom to store the grain. God provided through Joseph, to save His chosen people.
Next up, Joseph’s brethren came. They had come to Egypt - the only place they could get food. He revealed himself to his brethren. Genesis 45:4-8 And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt.
Do we stop and think of God’s providence – God’s goodness and faithfulness? And show forgiveness… Joseph showed grace. Joseph recognised that even when his brothers had treated him so dastardly, and really hurt him so badly, that in all of that God was working. Genesis 50:20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
What matters in not so much the events or circumstances of life, but your response to them. With God's help, any situation can be used for good, even when others intend it for evil.
God was working - because God meant it for good. God will bring good out of evil. What matters is not so much those difficult things of life, but our response to them. Joseph’s response wasn't to get all bitter and twisted and nasty and hard, but he was used by God to bless others.
He responded with grace to his brothers, to those situations. And, wherever he was, whether it was in the prison, whether it was in Potiphar’s service… He was wise and godly. He was an example.
1 Timothy 4:12 …be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Let's follow Joseph's righteous example of godly faith and life.
We can know true Prosperity, Purity, Power, and Providence.

Come Unto Me
Come, Come Unto Me (Ken Dosso)
Come, come unto Me,
All you who are weary,
All who are weak, tired and lonely.
Come, come unto Me.
Strong arms will enfold you and lift you up.
Oh, come unto Me.
Come, come unto Me.
Bring Me all your burdens.
Show Me your wounds, and I’ll soothe them.
Oh, come, come unto Me.
Drink now of my goodness, and rest your soul.
Oh, come unto Me.
All are invited; there’s none who aren’t welcome
To know of my comfort and peace.
My arms are opened, and My voice is calling to come,
Simply trust and believe.
Oh, Come, come unto Me.
Live with Me forever.
All those who seek Me will find Me!
Oh, come, come unto Me,
Strong arms will enfold you, and lift you up.
Oh, come unto Me.
I’ll lift you up:
Oh, come unto Me.

A Short Communion Word
Matthew 26:26-29 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. 27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; 28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. 29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.
Notice, verse 28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
REMISSION of our sins.
We use remission to describe a reduction of the intensity or degree of a disease - such as cancer in remission.
It means…
Release - as from a debt, penalty, obligation
Forgiveness - pardon
Deliverance
He sets us free
Frees us from sin’s power
The penalty of our sins has been fully paid
Paul writes to the Corinthians:
1 Corinthians 11:24-25 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
This do in remembrance of me…
Take this time in REMEMBRANCE of our Lord.
Think of Him.
Behold the Man - Your King - the Lamb of God
Let your thoughts dwell on the Saviour
- Who He is
- What He has done.
Remember
- The whipping
- The nails
- The thorns
- The love He showed
- The empty tomb
Take this time also as as REMINDER of His Coming Again
26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.
There’s another chapter yet to be played out in His Story.
He’s coming as King and Conqueror.

Young People Take A Stand
The three Hebrew children were young people, aged about 16. They were young men from the Royal Family - born of royal blood. Daniel 1:4 Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans. We see how they stood for right in a godless world.
Will you…
1. STAND OUT. Or Blend In? – as far as the Thinking/Lifestyle/Fashions/Tastes of the World?
These young men stood out from the crowd.
• Physically - they were healthy lads.
• Mentally - intelligent, quick to learn.
• Socially - fit to serve in King's Palace.
God is interested in the whole you. God wants to use you in His service. What are you going to do with your life, talents, time?
"King Neb" had chosen them to train to enter the King's personal service. He arranged a daily diet of special food and wine from his table. The best in the nation. But it was:
• Food dedicated to idols.
• Beer to make them drunk; kill brain cells.
1:8 These young people didn’t following the crowd. They made a decision - "purposed" in their heart, not to "defile" - to pollute themselves.
What can a young person do to keep clean? Live by God's Word (Psalm 119:9). They made a deliberate choice. Keep your body pure.
Do we do what is fashionable - what is popular? Or choose what is Biblical - unpopular?
1:15 - The Result - was that they looked better and healthier than anyone else. Spend time with God and you'll start to learn things. People will see there's something different about you.
So, will we stand out? And… also… Will we…
2. STAND TALL. Or Bow Down? As far as the gods/Idols/Materialism/Heroes/Pleasures of the World…
These young people now faced a tremendous challenge – a Test of their faith…
3:1 The king made an image of gold, 90 feet by 9 feet. The dedication ceremony was announced (v. 2). All the "important" people where there (v.3). The ultimatum was given (3:4-7). As soon as you hear the rock band, you were commanded to fall down and worship the image.
Do you take the easy way out? Do what everybody else does? Fit in? Or will you dare to be different?
Do we try to fit in - change the way we speak, so that we fit in, do we use their language, their swear words? The sick humour, the low morals, the mindset, the fashions of the world. If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.
3:13 The King went absolutely crazy when he heard about it. They told him they wouldn't serve his gods or worship the idol. He said, "then what god is able to rescue you from my hand?" How did they answer? "Our mind is fully made up." (v. 16) You've made a decision - stick with it. Stand up and be counted.
Will we... Stand Out… Stand Tall… And… also… will we…
3. STAND FIRM. Or Back Down? As far as the Testings/Trials/Opposition/Taunts/Pressures of the World.
3:19, The King flew into rage. His face was distorted with anger. He ordered the furnace to be heated seven times hotter than usual.
He commanded his toughest, strongest soldiers in his army. They grabbed them, tied them up, and threw them into the midst of the fire. The heat is on. It was so hot that it killed the men who took them to the furnace. They fell into the blazing furnace. When your back's against the wall dare to believe. Trust God.
The king jumped up in a hurry (v. 24). He was Amazed - this was Totally awesome - the Power of God. (v.25) He said, Look! I saw four men loose, walking around in the midst of the fire. They are set free and unhurt. The fourth looks like the son of God. Jesus is with you! When the going gets tough - He is right there with us.
King Neb and yelled out, Come out! Come here! You servants of the most high God. People are going to recognise who you are. (v. 27) The royal advisers crowded around them. They saw how the fire had no power over them – it hadn't harmed their bodies, or clothes. Their hair wasn't singed. There wasn’t even the smell of fire on them.
Even King Neb said, (v. 28) "Praise be to God, who sent His Angel and rescued His servants." What or Who do you put your trust him? Are we willing to lay our lives on the line? Willing to die, rather than serve or worship any other god?
TAKE A STAND. STAND UP. MAKE A DECISION.
Elvis Presley, "The King" was like king Neb. His life was filled with pleasure, fame, riches. His screaming, devoted fans would do anything for him. The reality is that he choked to death on his own vomit - his was a life of emptiness, loneliness, and helplessness.
The devil is working to utterly destroy this generation. It’s a troubled generation - lost and lonely. A world of restlessness and hustle and bustle.
Where are you at? Where are you going? God is looking for Young people with a heart for Him and His Word. Who have committed their lives to Christ and are on fire for God.

Isaiah 59:14 …truth is fallen in the street…
People prefer smooth lies to hard truths. The crowd spurn important truths, the gospel truth. The father of lies is satan, a mastermind of deception, John 8:44.
The ruling class of ancient Rome used “bread and circuses” to keep people content and compliant. Nowadays there’s consumer goods and entertainment to pacify and distract people away from the truth.
It seems like there’s a new religion - a worship of Mother Earth. The Bible tells of people exchanging the truth of God for a lie, Romans 1:25. Design is written all over creation, but people will not bow the knee to the designer.
The truth is that the worship of creation, of Mother Earth, is a pagan thing. It stems back to the Babylonians.Climate change environmentalism is the new green religion. We are doomed and we need salvation… The world is hurtling towards an apocalypse, a crisis, caused by man - and man must save himself. They call it the biggest moral challenge facing mankind. To dare to deny the dogma of manmade climate change makes you a heretic. A science-denier.
The truth is being redefined. Some want to cancel Australia Day. They call the national identity of this country racist and ‘oppressive’.
The education system has been dumbed down. Schools have become indoctrination centres. Abraham Lincoln said: “The philosophy of the school room in one generation will be the philosophy of the government in the next”.
What is truth? So said Pilate. Truth was staring him in the face, but he couldn’t see it.
We hear calls for a “great reset” - a fundamental change in the economy, society, and politics. It means government control and a loss of personal freedoms.
Are we being lied to by government? There is much talk of restrictions to control people, and take away freedoms, and calls for more shots.
The leftists reject the historic concept of family. It seems that truth is no longer respected or valued as it should be. People are living a distorted view of reality with an obsession on social media. People’s lives are focused on superficial values.
We have a crying need for the truth. The Bible foretells… 2 Timothy 4:3-4 …they will not endure sound doctrine… they shall turn away their ears from the truth…
Biblical values are lost… There is a lack of respect for the inherent value of a human life… some babies that are born alive in some Australian hospitals are left to die. Now we have “Assisted voluntary dying” - the deliberate taking of life. Pharmacists will literally dispense poison for people to kill themselves.
Strange things are on the horizon. They are now trying to implant wombs into men. Our children are being taught gender fluidity.
I am telling you the truth. The unvarnished truth. Truth is fallen in the street. Truly, we are in a war. This battle is raging… A battle for truth between the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error, 1 John 4:6. We are called to be counter-cultural revolutionaries…
We can expect more totalitarian government, and a society where truth is perverted and lost. The novel “Brave New World” depicts a government using advanced technology, drugs, and psychological manipulation to control people.
The novel “1984” tells of a "Big Brother" government that exercises control through constant surveillance, propaganda, and punishment. “Thought Police” ensure people yield in blind obedience. The novel warns of the dangers of censorship and propaganda and how it can be used to control and manipulate. There is an escalating threat of technologies that could lead to a surveillance state… And yet, “However much you deny the truth, the truth goes on existing” - George Orwell.
The 2030 Agenda could mean that our own government could hand over control to the UN of our rights, laws, freedoms, private property, energy use, and lifestyle. Our freedoms are under real threat. This “master plan” is a “roadmap to global socialism”.
There’s a definite indoctrination of the next generation… Truth is being redefined. But the Bible declares absolute truth. Our source for truth is not the opinions of the world, but it is the Word of God.
What is the truth? God’s word must be the ultimate reliable source. John 17:17 ...thy word is truth. The Bible helps us to be able to discern truth from lies. Our Lord tells of how the Spirit of truth… will guide you into all the truth.
We are called to be people of truth - to stand for what is right - to have the courage to speak the truth. Ephesians 4:15 …speaking the truth in love.
People are being shouted down, de-platformed, and cancelled. yet we cannot stay silent. We must speak up.
There are many lies being told today… The transformative power of the gospel is the only real solution for mankind today.
Are we going to speak, and live the truth, or not? Let every man speak truth to his neighbour.
The ultimate truth is “the Gospel Truth”. True change and hope can come from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
