Is Menstruation an Abomination?
Leviticus 18 appears to lay out laws for all peoples, not just those under the Mosaic code. However, one item among the list of abominations in that chapter is no longer widely condemned today, and the question is why not? Are we sinfully ignoring the bible, in which case we need to be brought to repentence, or has something changed about a woman on her period which gives her a different spiritual status now than such a woman would have had during the times of Israel?

Was Elijah a Villain?
What do we do when our own morality conflicts with what we see in scripture? Answer: we go with God, but today we explore why that can be very difficult at times and how to overcome it. One thing we don't really get to is how to live our life after this transition without becoming a moral monster, but pretty sure wisdom can help with that, plus I have a bunch more episodes planned on this general topic.
That aside, drop thoughts, prayers, comments, or furious rants in the comments, and like and subscribe to help boost the channel. Thanks!

God's Theory of Government
Samuel's argument against kingship, is this the Bible teaching the "stationary bandit" theory of government? What was the period of judges, how had it failed, and were the people of Israel wicked for wanting a change? How does it compare to judgeship and the social contract theory? Does the bible teach the inherent superiority of western capitalist democracies? What does God say about how a government should be run? We read 1 Samuel chapter 8 and ponder this and more in today's episode. For more on the institution of judgeship in ancient Israel, check out this episode from the Oldest Stories Podcast: https://youtu.be/nKvaYEpP-1E?si=0B2y8RrA_IylHUrq
