It's time to hook up the RV and travel from Texas to Florida. Along the way, we have our first experience boondocking at a Walmart, and you're never going to believe what John found 😱 We're in five states over the course of four days, and even when you pack activities in the truck, kids can get restless after several full days in a vehicle. The history of Texas flows through the Alamo, and we knew that when we were going to be nearby, we had to stop at this historic landmark. The Alamo was added to the National Parks System in the 1960's, but has a history that spans centuries. While visiting Canyon Lake, Texas during our RV travel, we discovered a new hobby for us to try out - geocaching! The idea is that you're on the world's largest scavenger hunt, and there are locations to find everywhere around the world. Our very first attempt at geocaching came while we were visiting Canyone Lake for the second time. As a family with young kids that has adopted a life of full-time RV travel, it is important for us to keep them entertained in a way that helps them stay educated. We want to be intentional about the types of things that we pack into our vehicle so they will develop a love of learning. Our goal is to avoid screens as much as possible, but what can you use when you’ve got little ones in a truck or RV for 4-6, maybe 7 hours a day? We took the girls, along with their friend Ryker, on a day trip to Vincennes, Indiana. There, we toured a couple historic sites. We started the day at the Indiana Historic Sites, touring original buildings from bygone eras and learning how to use a printing press. From there, we visited George Rogers Clark National Historic Park, a beautiful facility by the Wabash River.
