When Mercy the Dog Is Busted Chewing on a Picture, Her Cat Accomplices Cover Up for Her | RingTV
Carly set up a Ring Indoor Cam, in part, to keep an eye on Mercy, her one-year-old shepherd puppy. “[She’s] going through a terror phase,” says Carly. “She’s eaten every single ornament she can reach on the tree and has proceeded to go after picture frames!”
The plan worked perfectly until her two cats got involved, thwarting Carly’s puppy parenting attempts. Thanks to her Ring Protect subscription, Carly was able to save the video evidence of Mercy’s shenanigans to show to her husband. “It’s hard to stay mad at them when we saw their reactions to my voice,” she says.

8 Signs Its A Trauma Bond, Not Love
What does it mean to have a “trauma bond” with someone? Trauma bonding refers to the deep emotional attachment one might feel towards their abuser, and it’s more likely to develop in those who have a history of abuse, exploitation, or emotional codependency in their past relationships. Regardless of whether the relationship is romantic, platonic, or familial in nature, trauma bonds can easily be mistaken for feelings of love and commitment towards another person. So we made this video to help you understand the difference of trauma bonding and true love.

16 Ways You Are Hurting Your Dog Without Realizing
Segregation From the Pack
Dogs are pack animals. For a domestic dog, you are their pack and family.
If you’re constantly pushing your dog away or ignoring them when they try to climb in your lap and give you kisses, you’re not only depriving them of affection, but going against their nature.
Letting your dog stick its head out of a moving vehicle
Allowing a dog’s head to be exposed on the road can be dangerous. Branches, rocks or other debris could collide with the animal’s head. The wind also carries dust and foreign objects that could harm your dog’s eyes. Ear damage is another concern. Even worse, the dog might feel the impulse to jump out of a moving car.
Giving Your Dog Bones
Many vets believe it just isn’t worth the risk of serious injuries to give your dog a bone. Giving dogs a real bone could be deadly. The bone could shatter and puncture their esophagus, stomach or intestines. Your dog could even break a tooth, get a tongue or mouth injury, or have an obstruction that could require surgery.
If you’d like to give your pup a bone to chew, avoid giving your pup cooked bones of any kind as they can break and splinter into tiny, sharp pieces that can cut your dog’s mouth, throat or digestive organs.
Yelling when your dog misbehaves
Yelling is another thing you should never do when disciplining your canine. It doesn’t work, just like physical punishment doesn’t. You're just freaking out your pet.
Not keeping your dog stimulated
Dogs need as much mental and physical stimulation as people do. Your dog not only needs exercise but they also need to be exposed to different smells, sights, and sounds. It makes their brain work better.
Choosing the wrong collar
As a responsible dog owner, it’s important that you choose the right type of collar for your canine.
A Flat-buckle collar is a plain collar that snaps or buckles closed. This is a great option for dogs that don’t pull on the leash, and aren’t prone to slipping out of the collar.
If your canine is a puller or likes to explore as far as they can reach, using a harness might be a better option. A front- clip harness in particular is an effective method to avoid leash-pulling.
Not making socialization a priority
Dogs who aren’t properly socialized will have a fear of new or unusual circumstances. This results in the release of adrenaline hormones that increase blood pressure, as well as heart and respiration rates.
Using physical punishment.
It’s important to discipline your dog but physical punishment should never be the way to do it. Reward-based training is much more effective than physical punishment. Reward based training helps build trust and strong bond between the dog and their owner.
Neglecting breed-specific characteristics
Some breeds require specific grooming needs, and others have pre-dispositions to certain health issues.
Pushed-in face breeds such as Pugs, Bulldogs, Pomeranians, and Boxers are extremely prone to heat stroke due to their narrow airways and nostrils.
Some long-hair breeds such as Huskies or Alaskan Malamute have very thick coats and need extra care if kept in tropical climates.
Bringing puppies to a dog park
Taking young puppies to dog parks is a bad idea. First of all, young puppies don’t have all the vaccinations.
Secondly, not every dog is as friendly as your pooch. Other dogs can be aggressive towards your pup
Leaving a Dog Alone in a Car
Never ever leave your dog alone in an enclosed car.
Dogs don’t sweat like humans, and they overheat much faster than you think. They lack the ability to cool themselves off efficiently.
Not securing your dog in the car
People use seat belts, children use car seats, so why would the case be any different for your dog. If you don’t secure your four-legged friend in the car and you end up in a car accident, your dog can get seriously injured or even killed.
Using harsh cleaning products
Many cleaning products used in our homes are toxic to dogs.
Always check the label. Any product that contains bleach or ammonia is hazardous to animals.
Letting Your Dog Eat Everything
Giving dogs human food isn’t good for them. Most times the food you eat are too fatty, too spicy or too salty for your canine. Make sure to avoid feeding them human food, even little crumbles from the table.
You Don’t Take Care of Your Pet’s Teeth
Like humans, dogs need regular dental care. Their teeth are home to hundreds of bacteria and need to be brushed just like yours do.
Skipping flea, tick, and worming treatments
Preventive flea, worm, tick, and heartworm treatment is crucial when caring for a dog.
On that note, remember that heartworm disease is a serious disease that results in heart failure, organ damages, and death in pets. Take sure to get your dogs tested for heartworm infection every 12 months.

What Your Dog's Sleeping Position Reveals About Their Personality, Health and Character
Dogs’ Sleeping Positions can reveal a lot about their personality, health and how they are feeling. Here is what dog sleeping positions mean.
This guide breaks down the most common dog sleeping positions and explains the science behind why dogs sleep in certain ways.
• The Donut or Curled-up
Does your dog like to tuck its paws beneath itself and curl up so that its head rests on its tail? Good, this is referred to as the Donut or Fuzzy Bagel position. This resting position means that your dog might be trying to conserve body heat and provide protection to the fundamental parts of its body. It’s the most common sleeping position for animals in the wild, too, as it helps conserve warmth and protects the vital organs.
Dogs typically sleep in this position in winter or fall when they are cold. But don’t worry, many happy dogs sleep this way! It’s just an incredibly comfortable, warm way for them to sleep.
• On the back or Crazy Legs
This is one of the most adorable and at the same time weird sleeping positions common to dogs which will leave you surprised at most times.
If you spot your dog lying on its back and stretching out its leg at particular angles, this is an indication that it is confident and relaxed with its surroundings. Exposing its belly will tell you that it is submissive and vulnerable. The legs stretched at a certain angle is a sign that your dog trusts you and sees your home as its own.
On the other hand, this position might show that the dog is feeling hot and they adopt this position to quickly cool down. Dogs’ belly has thinner fur and the paws hold the sweat glands. So this sleeping position is the best way to beat the heat.
Dogs who prefer this kind of sleeping position are viewed as independent with a calm nature.
• Back-to-Back or The Cuddle Bug
If your dog is cuddling up with you, or you notice him sleeping back-to-back with the other dogs in your house, there is a simple reason for that.
The tendency that many dogs need to cuddle when they sleep is a holdover from when they were puppies. This also has to do with the body heat, since puppies have difficulty regulating their body temperature. As the dogs mature, sleeping back to back becomes a sort of habit from puppyhood.
If your dog is cuddling up with you, it is an instinctual way for a dog to show that you are like one of the other dogs and they trust you.
• Superman
This is another funny sleeping position that will leave you perplexed and bring a warm smile to your face. In this position, the dog is seen to sleep on its stomach with its limb stretched out forward. What comes to your mind when you spot your dog in this position is the image of a superman. Pretty cool, huh?
However, this position does not come without meaning as it is quite easy for the dog to get up on its feet. Therefore, you can only spot your dog in this position when it is taking a nap. You cannot see it sleeping like this at night.
Also, this position is an indication that your dog is in the mood to play and would give you a good time if you are willing to have a bit of fun. You wouldn't want to deprive your dog of the fun in moments like this, right?
• Side Sleeping
If your dog adopts this kind of sleeping position, it is an indication that it has no worries. It is relaxed and comfortable in the surrounding it occupies and no uncertainty about it.
The kind of dogs that adopt a side sleeping position are the ones that are affectionate and share a close bond with their owners.
• The Lion Pose
In this position, the muscles of the dog are tense and contracted and this actually prevents it from falling into a deep sleep. Therefore, this is a sleeping position adopted by a dog to relieve itself of stress and be comfortable.
They get into this position sometimes when they have a considerable amount of energy and they don't feel like sleeping. They would prefer staying in a resting position where they can easily get up and play.
• Laying on your clothes
If your dog sleeps on your clothes, it means it loves you. Your clothing has your scent on it and dogs always want to feel closer to you.
• Circling and Digging
It is usual for dogs to circle in the area where they sleep and even do a little digging before they eventually doze off. From the inception, dogs are known to trample down the grass in order to acquire optimal comfort as possible. They might also dig in order to keep themselves warm.
Do you want to share with us how your dog sleeps in a way different from the ones we have mentioned? Drop a comment below. Give us a thumbs up and remember to subscribe to our channel.

The Meaning Behind 21 Strangest Dog Behaviors | Jaw-Dropping Facts about Dogs
Why dogs kick when you scratch their belly.
This movement is an involuntary reaction called scratch reflex.
When you scratch a dog’s belly, you activate the nerves under the skin that are connected to their spinal cord. These nerves send a message to your dog’s leg muscles to kick and twitch in an attempt to get rid of an irritant.
Why dogs kick their feet after pooping.
By scratching the ground, your dog is releasing the pheromones located in the scent glands of its feet. This is the main way your dog marks its territory.
Why dogs drag their butts on the floor.
Your dog dragging their bottom on the ground, also known as Scooting, is almost always a sign that something is irritating your dog— like Infection, inflammation, or worms.
More often than not, this irritation has to do with anal sac problems. dogs have anal sacs located on both sides of their rear end.
Why dogs hump.
In general, dogs hump something to establish their territory. Even a stuffed animal.
Both male and female dogs hump.
Why dogs poop along a north-south axis
After a two-year study involving 70 dogs, it was found that dogs disregard personal preference and prefer to poop facing the North-South magnetic axis.
Why Dogs Twitch in Their Sleep
Dogs dream during the REM stage of sleep, and those twitches are responses to whatever's happening in their dreams.
Showing empathy
Dogs can sense when you are sad or upset. They show empathy to comfort you when you are in distress.
Sleeping on your clothes
If your dog sleeps on your clothes or in your bed, it means they love you. Your clothing and bed have your scent on them and dogs always want to feel closer to you.
Sitting on your feet
Dogs lay or sit on your feet as a sign of marking their territory.
Dogs also sit on your feet to show you affection, just as you would choose to sit next to a friend.
Staring at you so intensely.
Dogs stare to get signals as to what is happening next.
Dogs also stare to manipulate their owners to get what they want. This is a common scenario with begging at the dinner table.
Squinting Their Eyes
Dogs squint their eyes to indicate peaceful intentions. If your dog squint their eyes when they look at you, they are expressing their love and desire for your attention.
Rolling on their back in the grass.
Dogs roll in grass for a lot of reasons.
They could be scratching an itch, or attempting to change their own body scent. Another reason your dog may roll in the grass is to mark their territory or deposit their scent.
By rubbing their scent off on an area, like a carpet or a new dog bed, they are marking it as theirs.
Hunching over
A hunched-over posture in dogs can be seen when they are fearful and feeling particularly vulnerable. By hunching over, dogs try to make themselves small.
Dogs also hunch over when they are abused, attacked, or scolded.
Why dogs lick you.
Dogs lick you to show you affection and love. They may even want to groom you to show that they care about your well-being. Or they may simply enjoy the taste of your salty skin.
Urine Marking
Some dogs scent mark by urinating small amounts on vertical surfaces. Both male and female dogs can urine mark. Dogs who aren’t neutered or sprayed are more likely to mark than those who are.
Fuzzy Bagel Sleeping Position
If your dog tucks its paws beneath itself and curls up so that its head rests on its tail, it means that your dog might be trying to conserve body heat and provide protection to the fundamental parts of its body. It’s the most common sleeping position for animals in the wild, too, as it helps conserve warmth and protects the vital organs.
Why dogs dig
Dogs dig in your yard for several different reasons. They may be burying toys or bones to keep them protected.
They may also dig to cool themselves off in a hot summer day. Pregnant dogs may dig a hole as a nesting instinct to make a home for her pups.
Gifts
If your dog brings you a gift, like a shoe or their favorite toy, it means they love you. It also means your dog wants your attention.
Why dogs trashing your furniture.
Chewing on a wide variety of objects in the house is probably the result of boredom or separation anxiety. Your dog probably needs more play, exercise and physical activity to work off some energy.
Why dogs howl
Dogs howl to communicate, attract attention and announce their presence.
Dogs may also howl because they are responding to ambulance or police sirens. Believe it or not, these noises are on the same frequency level as their hearing.
Why dogs yawn.
In dogs, yawning is a form of communication
Dogs yawn when they are feeling anxious, like when they are in a new environment or are surrounded by other dogs. You will see this behavior more often in puppies, when they are around unfamiliar dogs.
Dogs may also yawn when scolded by a human, or in other stress-inducing situations.
