We have a shower on one side of a wall and a water stained closet on the other side. Coincidence, I think not. Also have to open up the wall to get a better picture of damage that may have occurred where we can’t see.

Relatively young water heater but issues abound that suggest it wasn’t installed correctly or approved by the municipality. I explained to the seller what I found and told him to take a look at any recent permits for the property. The water heater is only a few years old so he doesn’t have too far.

This round of “is it loose?” is quicker but we hit the trifecta. That tub could move with minimal effort. Now just imagine if it was filled with water.

I tell people there’s two things that definitely should not move. Toilets and outlets. Here we have both of those that are loose, among other things. All in the same bathroom.

How do you check a shower enclosure to make sure it doesn’t leak? Grab that detachable shower head and aim it at connections. In this case it’s where the glass meets the tile we find a leak out of the enclosure.
