Nothing Ear 1 earbuds will debut at $99 and have noise canceling upon it's July 27 debut
The Nothing Ear 1 true wireless earbuds will launch at 2 p.m. BST on July 27 in the U.K., which is 6 a.m. PT and 9 a.m. ET in the U.S.
They will cost $99 USD and though much still remains unknown about their design, Nothing has confirmed that they will feature “state-of-the-art” active noise cancellation (ANC) and each earbud will sport three high-definition microphones.
If you’re new to Nothing, here’s why you should be paying attention. It’s the new company created by Carl Pei following his departure from OnePlus, which he co-founded with Pete Lau in 2013.
Given OnePlus’ success, the phones it has produced, and the strong fan base it has built, there is plenty of anticipation surrounding Pei’s plans for Nothing.
What we know so far is that Nothing will produce “smart devices,” with the first being the Ear 1 true wireless headphones, but we don’t know exactly what its future output will be. We don’t know much about the Ear 1 yet either.

Nintendo Switch OLED Debuts with a 7 inch OLED screen designed for gamers on a budget
Nintendo announced a new model for its mobile console, the Nintendo Switch this morning. Titled the Switch OLED, the console will release on October 8 for $350.
The Switch OLED’s biggest difference from the original Switch model is in its name. The original Switch sported a 6.2 inch LCD screen capable of hitting a max resolution of 720p. The Switch OLED won’t be improving on that handheld resolution, but will instead sport a 7-inch OLED screen.
Contrary to rumors, the Switch OLED will not be capable of displaying extremely high-resolution video while docked, retaining the same 1080p resolution found on the base Switch.
Switch OLED’s specs page doesn’t say that users can expect a longer battery life or better performance for that matter. While the new model will have twice the memory, totaling up to 64GB of internal storage, it seemingly sports the same Nvidia custom Tegra processor CPU/GPU combo.
The Switch OLED will have the same battery life and charging time as the original Switch. In almost every metric, the Switch OLED is the same as the base Switch, save for its screen and internal storage space.

Urbanista Seoul and Lisbon ANC TWS Debuts as the company's latest affordable wireless earbuds
Switch them on and the Urbanista Seoul will bring latency right down, matching sounds to lip movements and on-screen action as closely as possible – ideal for watching movies or playing games.
Most wireless earbuds are low latency by default, because they use Qualcomm's aptX HD Bluetooth codec which brings latency down.
However, this only works if both earbuds and the source device (usually a phone) support the codec, which Apple devices do not. So you could use the Urbanista Seoul for low-latency gaming across devices without worrying about variable performance.
Low-latency aside, the Urbanista Seoul give you active noise cancellation (ANC), with eight hours of battery on a single charge, plus another 32 from the carry case.
They support wireless charging, are IPX4-rated for splash resistance, boast Bluetooth 5.2 and support both Google Assistant and Apple's Siri voice assistants (but no Amazon Alexa).
They come in four colours (black, blue, purple and white) and cost £89.90 ($89.90).
Urbanista has also announced a new pair of cheap true wireless earbuds – the Urbanista Lisbon.
Costing just £49.90 ($49.90), they're the firm's most affordable true wireless pair ever, and offer nine hours of battery life (plus another 18 from the case), Bluetooth 5.2, and the same ANC, USB-C charging and voice assistant support of their more expensive stablemates (no wireless charging though).
They're available in five colours: pastel red, beige, pink, green and black.
Both pairs are available to pre-order now, with shipping due in four to five weeks.

Astell & Kern and Campfire Audio AK Solaris X Earphone Debuts at $1500 as a Collaborative effort
Astell & Kern, famed for its five-star portable music players, has teamed up with Campfire Audio, a US manufacturer of premium earphones, to introduce the AK Solaris X in-ear monitor.
Based on Campfire Audio’s Solaris 2020, the new X model has been designed and tuned especially for Astell & Kern players.
Campfire Audio's high-end wired headphones are all hand-assembled in Portland, Oregon. The AK Solaris X is, the company says, a culmination of its acoustic technology and design.
Each earpiece comprises a specially designed single balanced armature driver, with Campfire Audio's Tuned Acoustic Expansion Chamber (TAEC) tech for the high frequencies, a single updated custom balanced armature for the mids, and a specially-tuned 10mm dynamic driver for the mids and lows.
That custom balanced armature driver within this hybrid system has been designed specifically for the AK Solaris X and is smaller in size than its predecessor.
The AK Solaris X comes with a balanced 2.5mm pure silver cable (a 3.5mm adapter is supplied). You also get beryllium/copper MMCX connectors, which promise more resilience against wear and tear compared to their regular brass counterparts.
Campfire Audio has also sourced the AK Solaris X's handmade cork case from a small boutique shop in Portugal that works side by side with people with physical disabilities.
The Astell & Kern AK Solaris X is priced £1499 ($1500, €1799) and will be available in the UK exclusively in-store at Harrods and Selfridges from mid-July.

iFi Zen Stream wi-fi audio transport Debuts and added to its compact, budget Zen Series
iFi is building on its diminutive but impressive Zen Series with the introduction of Zen Stream, a component that promises to facilitate high-performance wi-fi streaming for any audio system. Simply connect it to a DAC.
Described as a ‘Wi-fi audio transport’, the Zen Stream acts as a bridge between your wi-fi network and audio system. It connects to a router via wi-fi or Ethernet cable and outputs to either an external DAC or an amplifier with digital inputs, via USB or SPDIF.
In its press release, iFi is quick to state that the Zen Stream's perfect streaming partner might be its own Zen DAC hi-res DAC/headphone amp The brand also claims the Zen Stream's open-source architecture and custom-designed hardware and software make it flexible and future-proof – it works with multiple platforms, has streaming services such as Spotify and Tidal integrated and offers hi-res audio support over wi-fi.
Under the distinctive dark grey aluminum extrusion (which houses all of iFi's Zen Series products), a quad-core ARM Cortex microprocessor and dual-band wi-fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz with 802.11a/b/g/n/ac support) means up to 32-bit/384kHz PCM and DSD256 files can be played over wi-fi or Ethernet cable.
You can also stream straight from Spotify and Tidal apps with Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect, plus the Zen Stream is Roon, DLNA and NAA compatible. With integrated AirPlay, there's easy streaming from Apple devices. iFi says that Chromecast is to be added post-launch via firmware update, too.
A novel part of the Zen Stream’s design is the ability to select between exclusive modes, promising an optimised performance by focusing on one particular mode of use.
The following five modes are: 'All-in-one', a non-specific mode for all platforms, audio formats and devices; 'DLNA streaming', to optimise performance when using the Zen Stream with DLNA-compatible apps and devices; 'NAA streaming', for when using the Zen Stream as a Network Audio Adapter in conjunction with HQPlayer software; 'Roon Bridge streaming', when integrating the Zen Stream into a Roon environment; and 'Tidal streaming', for subscribers of Tidal’s Masters tier.
The iFi Zen Stream is available from today in the UK, priced £399 (approximately $555, although pricing and availability in the US and Australia is not yet known).

Dali Katch G2 Debuts with new features and better battery life compared to the previous Katch
Dali is looking to regain the crown with a long-awaited sequel to the Katch.
The all-new Dali Katch G2 brings a raft of improvements to the familiar design in order to give the speaker its best shot at topping the pecking order, including a bigger battery, wider Bluetooth support and tweaks to the audio design.Even today the Katch's 24-hour battery life is very reasonable, but the Katch G2 still takes that to 30 hours (charging is via a two-way USB port).
There's also support for aptX HD, aptX and AAC Bluetooth, complete with NFC, for higher quality transmission between compatible sources. An alternative means of connection is provided by a 3.5mm input.
Dali has also implemented a TWS (True Wireless Stereo) mode, enabling the user to pair two Katch G2s for increased volume and a more convincing stereo soundstage. The speaker's soundfield is created by a two-way speaker system, with the drivers located on both sides to help create as wide a stereo effect as possible.
Dali has ensured there's enough volume within the aluminium body for its woofers to, hopefully, deliver deep-enough lows, too. Last but not least, the cabinet now has an internal wall dividing it into two inner volumes for improved channel separation.
Available now and priced at £329, the Dali Katch G2 still sits at the premium end of the portable Bluetooth speaker market.
There's no integrated wi-fi streaming or voice control functionality – not all that surprising considering it's a portable unit (even if the Sonos Roam has somewhat torn up that particular rulebook). And there are more rivals to contend with now than when its sibling launched five years ago. But if sound quality is king, this could end up being the portable Bluetooth speaker for you.

Klipsch Cinema 1200 and Cinema 800 Debuts and promises a major upgrade to your TV sound
Klipsch has launched two Dolby Atmos soundbars. The Klipsch Cinema 1200 and Cinema 800 promise a "major upgrade to TV sound", streaming smarts and real wood cabinets.
Both models feature 'horn-loaded' technology drawn from the company's acclaimed Reference speakers, and they come with subwoofers for added bass oomph. There's also next-gen HDMI eARC and 8K passthrough with support for Dolby Vision HDR.
The flagship Cinema 1200 serves up 120 watts and functions as a Dolby Atmos 5.14 system out of the box thanks to upward-firing Atmos speakers, a 12-inch wireless subwoofer and a pair of wireless surround modules.
The 54-inch Cinema 1200 is available from August for £1449 / AU$2599 (around $2000).
The smaller (48-inch) Cinema 800 could be just the ticket. It dishes up 3.1 sound (it decodes 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos) and comes with a 10-inch wireless subwoofer. A more convincing surround sound experience can be achieved through adding the Klipsch Surround 3 wireless surround speakers (£265 extra).
The Cinema 800 goes on sale in August for £899 / AU$1399 (around $1250).
As for streaming smarts, both models are compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant and Spotify Connect. You also get AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth, so you're pretty much covered for multi-room music streaming and movie playback.

LG QNED99, QNED95, QNED90 and QNED85 Debuts with support for Dolby Vision IQ, HLG, ALLM, HDR10 Pro
LG Electronics has announced that its new QNED Mini LED TVs will start rolling out worldwide from July.
The QNED99, QNED95, QNED90 and QNED85 span 65-inches to 86-inches and will launch first in North America before arriving in other regions in the coming weeks.
The new QNEDs combine quantum dot, and NanoCell technologies with a mini LED backlight to increase brightness and the number of dimming zones. LG has said that the top-of-the-line 86-inch 8K QNED TV will be backlit by approximately 30,000 LEDs creating approximately 2500 local dimming zones, which LG says will deliver a contrast ratio ten times better than conventional LCD TVs.
Both of the 8K models are set to feature the top-of-the-range Alpha 9 Gen 4 processor, while the rest of the spec sheet includes support for Dolby Vision/IQ, HDR10, HLG, ALLM, HGiG, along with LG's own dynamic range technology, HDR 10 Pro.
All models offer 120 Hz native refresh rates with AMD FreeSync, and as announced yesterday, the QNED99 will offer Dolby Vision gaming at 4K/120Hz. Elsewhere expect to see Dolby Atmos, Google Assistant & Alexa Built-in, Apple Airplay 2, LG's Magic Remote, ThinQ AI and webOS 6.0 smart TV features.
LG has not yet released the pricing for the line-up, but some retailers already have certain models available for pre-order. The QNED99 set is currently listed at £3999 ($3497) for the 65-inch model, £5999 ($4797) for the 75-inch model and £7999 ($6497) for the flagship 86-inch model.
The prices for the 4K QNED90 start at £2499 ($1,997) for the 65-inch, with the 75-inch and 86-inch sets at £3699 ($2997) and $3997, respectively.
We'll bring you pricing for the other models as and when it's released.

Snapdragon 888 Plus Debuts from Qualcomm and coming to Asus, Motorola, Honor, Xiaomi Smartphones
Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon 888 Plus processor, an upgraded version of the current Snapdragon 888 chip found in many top smartphones, and various phone makers have already confirmed it will be powering future devices.
The Snapdragon 888 Plus has been given a power boost for a clock speed of just under 3.0GHz, compared to the Snapdragon 888’s 2.84GHz, plus the 6th generation of Qualcomm’s AI Engine for a 20% improvement in Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) performance. Like the Snapdragon 865 Plus released in 2020 it’s a gaming powerhouse, with all the same Snapdragon Elite Gaming features from the Snapdragon 888, plus updatable drivers for the best possible performance at all times. It shares many other features with the existing 888 platforms, including the X60 5G modem and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.
Asus will use the Snapdragon 888 Plus in a future ROG Phone, which is explicitly made to appeal to gamers. Asus used the Snapdragon 865 Plus inside the ROG Phone 3, but it only announced the ROG Phone 5 with the Snapdragon 888 in March, meaning a sequel is a year away. However, it’s possible Asus could launch a special revised edition of the phone, similar to the ROG Phone 5 Ultimate Edition, with the new chip inside before then.
Motorola has said it will use the Snapdragon 888 Plus chip in its “portfolio,” without specifically mentioning a device.
This is a surprise, as Motorola has not concentrated on flagship, high-spec smartphones for a while, preferring to release low and mid-range devices like the Moto G Power. At the end of 2020, Motorola’s parent company Lenovo teased a Snapdragon 888-powered Motorola phone would arrive, but no device has been released yet.
Honor has stated the forthcoming Honor Magic 3 will use the Snapdragon 888 Plus processor. No longer owned by Huawei, Honor is able to release phones with Qualcomm chips and with Google’s Android software and Mobile Services and has recently confirmed the Magic 3 will arrive in the near future.
Xiaomi will use the Snapdragon 888 Plus in a future smartphone, as will Vivo, but neither has said when a device with the new chip will arrive. Xiaomi uses the Snapdragon 888 in its Mi 11 range, and Vivo packages the chip inside the X60 Pro Plus. Neither company used the Snapdragon 865 Plus chip.

Lenovo Yoga Tab 13, Yoga Tab 11, Tab M7 and Tab M8, and Tab P11 Plus Debuts as premium Tablets
Lenovo has gone tablet mad at Mobile World Congress 2021 and announced five new Android-based models, with the most interesting being the enormous Yoga Tab 13, which as the name hints has a whopping 13-inch screen. It’s joined by a slightly smaller 11-inch version, along with the Tab M7 and Tab M8, and the Tab P11 Plus too. Let’s take a closer look.
Lenovo’s gunning for Apple’s iPad Pro range with the new Yoga Tab 13 and Yoga Tab 11, but while the screen sizes are similar to Apple’s best tablets, the Lenovo models have some interesting design features that make them stand out. The Yoga Tab 13 has an unusual Alcantara-covered back, and both models continue with Lenovo’s clever stainless steel kickstand design.
The barrel itself makes holding the tablet comfortable, and helps thin the rest of the body right down, despite it containing a 10,000mAh battery and four JBL-tuned, Dolby Atmos speakers. The Yoga Tab 13 has a 13-inch LTPS screen with a 2160 x 1350 pixel resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate, plus Dolby Vision support.
It’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor and 8GB of RAM, with the choice of either 128GB or 256GB storage space.
The Yoga Tab 11’s screen is smaller and has a 2000 x 1200 pixel resolution, while retaining the 60Hz refresh rate and Dolby Vision, but swaps the Qualcomm chip out for a MediaTek Hello G90T. Both run Android 11 and there’s an 8GB/256GB or a 4GB/128GB model to choose from. The Tab 11 is a little lighter than the 830 gram Yoga Tab 13 at 655 grams.
The Yoga Tab 11 has a starting price of 349 euros which converts over to $416, while the Yoga Tab 13 will cost 799 euros, or around $953. The larger model will be out in June, with the 11-inch model coming in July.
Designed more for productivity than entertainment, the Tab P11 Plus will be available with an optional keyboard and fabric-covered kickstand case, plus it has a dedicated “Productivity” mode for Android, making it easier to get work done. It also works with Lenovo’s Precision Pen 2 stylus. Like the Yoga Tab 11, it has the MediaTek Helio G90T inside, here with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM, and the option of 64GB or 128GB storage space.
