Transform your TRX4M | The 4 Best Upgrades You can Do!
Lets Talk Performance Upgrades!
I have been thinking for the longest time about how lame my first Top 5 Upgrades video felt because most of those upgrades were focused on fixing the TRX4M and not necessarily doing anything fun to increase performance. I made this video to focus on upgrades that I think impact the performance of the TRX4M and a lot of mini crawlers the most. So after you get the basic upgrades and fixes out of the way these are the ones that I think will have the greatest performance increase afterwards.
I will say that this list isn't exhaustive and nothing here is required. I am basically just exploring areas where I felt like I gained the most out of my own TRX4M and other mini crawler builds. If you have any suggestions for other ideas that you think really transform your little truck leave them in the comments! It'll be helpful to others in the community to see what others are doing as well!
Anyway I hope you enjoyed the video. I'm going to link everything I can here in the description to make the things that we talked about in the video easy to access for those who are interested.

Tiny Truck Showdown: TRX4M vs. Ascent 18 - New 18th Scale Champion?
We're pitting the Redcat Racing Ascent 18 against the long standing 1/18th scale RTR Champion The Traxxas TRX4M
Disclaimer: I know there are other models in the class that deserve a shot, but I don't have some of them and my CR18P and FCX24 are both too modified to participate in this fairly. Also, mic issues, but I did my best to remediate the problems.
We're going to test both vehicles in a series of challenges that cover all of the things I expect my 18th scale crawlers and trail trucks to be able to do. Who will come out on top? This video will cover the performance aspects of both trucks mainly. Its pretty obvious which one of the two would win a beauty contest and it's name starts with a T.
This video is also kind of a mini review of the Ascent 18. Its awesome, go get one while they're cheap!
I hope you enjoy the video I had a ton of fun making it and I even tried some new things! I like both of the trucks quite a lot and am really impressed with the new Redcat model. Hopefully the aftermarket will embrace the Ascent with the same enthusiasm they had for the TRX4M and the SCX24. I could see some awesome builds coming out of this platform!

Upgrade your TRX4M: Injora Diamond Axles Review!
What better way to start refreshing an old build than a new set of axles? I wasn't really sure if a set of axles would really be worth it on my TRX4M - I already had all the brass stuff and usually prefer the way plastic slides over rocks. With the TRX4M being straight axle and... small, its going to windup dragging its axles over just about anything on the trail. These axles really caught my eye when they came out so I decided that I'd give them a shot and I'm glad that I did.
Yes it feels bad dragging them over rocks, but that's the only down side that I've been able to identify with these axles. They are SMOOTH and quiet, they add track width, and look SUPER cool. I also like how they're compatible with the brass Injora hubs and steering knuckles that you may already have. Its also really nice finally having the servo laid down on the axle versus dealing with that fiddly mount that Traxxas gave us. More weight lower and more weight towards the front is usually a good thing when it comes to these mini crawlers/trail trucks.
Long story short, I'm a big fan of these axles and I think they have made a great replacement for my stock (but built) axles.
If you're interested in picking a set of these axles up for yourself check out the link below. Its an affiliate link so if you buy something you'll be helping out the channel with a small commission. No extra cost to you of course.

Restoring 36 Year Old Vintage Buggy
Welcome back to the channel!
Today we're going to start restoring my Father In Law's old RC Buggy. I did some research to help me identify what exactly this buggy is because I had never heard of it before. It's the Academy Minicraft Lazer which was produced in the late 80's, 1988 I believe, and distributed by Tower Hobbies. It's basically a Grasshopper/Hornet clone which is awesome because that means that I'll have replacement, and hop up parts available for it! That's fantastic news for a kit that is like 36 years old!
So anyway in this video we're going to take it apart and check everything out. We're going to try and rebuild the shocks, freshen up the transmission, lube and grease all of the things that need it and hopefully not find a bunch of broken stuff!
This is my first video of this kind so let me know what you think! I think restoration videos could be a lot of fun and it would be nice to get some old dead RC cars and trucks running again! This one for instance probably last ran 20+ years ago. Getting it running after 2 decades seems really cool to me!
Anyway enjoy the video, I hope you like it, and as always thanks for watching!

WPL D42 Review
*WPL NOT WL TOYS* sorry for the confusion!
Hello and welcome back to the channel!
So this was an impulse buy that will now be another project to add to my list. Its the WPL Toys D42 K van. It was just too cheap to pass up honestly and I had to check it out. I was pretty impressed with it overall and saw some other guys doing some pretty awesome projects with it so I went ahead and ordered it and I'm happy I did. Its a fun little scale K van just like I hoped it would be. Its definitely hobby grade since you can buy accessories and replacement parts and honestly on a budget it would make for a pretty fun little RC! You can buy two of these for the price of the Hexmods kit that I reviewed a while back and I'd say you'd have spent your money better!
If you're interested in picking one of these up for yourself here's a link.

A few brands offer it so go with whichever you like the price/shipping speed of best.

FCX24 Brass Upgrades!
Hello and welcome back to the channel!
In today's video we're going to add some weight down low on the FCX24 so that it'll stop rolling over so much on my indoor course! I'm also going to change the body up a little bit and add the accessory light bar and bumper that came with the kit from FMS. Oh yeah.. We're also going to throw some way too big tires on the truck to give it the full on jacked up Chevy look just for fun!
Overall I'm pretty happy with how everything has turned out on here. I feel like the upgrades helped the truck massively when it comes to stability and performance both when climbing up and over the obstacles on my indoor course.

Injora MB100 Unfair Review
Hey guys,
I picked up the new MB100 Brushed ESC from Injora to hopefully help me get a little more low speed control out of my 370 powered Rock Van. This build has always been a lot of fun but has been notoriously hard to navigate through sections of the trail that require some low speed control. Post install its still a little wild on the indoor course but with the way the RCAWD 370 motor kit is geared I'm not surprised. That said, its still like 200 percent better. Its actually driveable on the indoor course now and I expect a night and day difference once I get the van back out on the trails because technical sections outside were at least KIND OF doable with the rock van with the stock ESC. I'm really impressed with this little ESC and will probably build more brushed rigs now because it exists.
If you want to buy the Injora MB100 for your brushed build here's an Amazon link that'll take you straight to it.

Traxxas TRX4M VS FMS FCX24
Hello and welcome back to the channel everyone! I wanted to go ahead and make a video comparing the Traxxas TRX4m and the FMS FCX24. Both models cost about the same and they compete for the same buyers on the market. Which is better? Both models are really really good and its going to be hard to really pick one over the other but we will figure it out in this video!
I had a blast making this video and I hope you enjoy it. If you liked the video make sure to leave me a like and if you want to see more videos like this one subscribe!

RC Icons | Tamiya Clodbuster
Hey everybody welcome back to the channel! I am FINALLY getting around to posting this video I made a little while ago about the Clodbuster we built for the Quarterly Classic back in January. I've wanted a Clod since I was in like middle school or something and never wound up getting one until this past Christmas when my wife decided to go above and beyond and buy me one. I was completely blown away needless to say but I got it built during the first weekend of January and made a video. This is perfect for one of my RC Icons videos because if the Clodbuster is anything, it is iconic. One of the most iconic RC monster trucks to ever jump a curb thats for sure. Anyway I hope you guys enjoy watching this video. It was a blast to make and I'm excited to finally get it uploaded. Any Clodbuster fans out there? If you're watching this video tell me about your truck in the comments!
As always thanks for watching and we will see you next time!

TRX4M Project Part 4 - The End, maybe...
This is part 4 and the final installment into the TRX4M Defender build series. Its been a really fun build and I'm super stoked about the way this truck turned out. Yellow is definitely a great color on the Defender! Obviously no RC project is ever fully complete so I'll be sure to post updates on this truck if anything new and exciting happens but the build as a series ends here. We've just done all of the cool and fun stuff and its time to move forward! What should the next build be? What should we start? Let me know in the comments if you have any ideas!

TRX4M Project Part 3 - Furitek Brushless!

Today we're going to pop the Furitek Stinger and Micro Komodo kit in the truck as well as the diff gears that I didn't get in time last week! Welcome to the second installment of the Traxxas TRX4M build! We're going to beef up the drivetrain today with gears from Globact and some drive shafts from Injora. TRX4M Build Part 1 - Injora Everywhere!
First attempt at a project video with some hiccups so go easy on me. I decided to use my TRX4M for this since I had some parts coming in and because it was the star of my very first video! Its only natural! The only downside to this project is that its already partially complete, but I try to go over what is already done so that we can all be caught up. This is a great little truck with some upgrades and I want to try and squeeze a little more performance out of it. I'm not sure how far this project will go, but eventually we will find out!
In this video we will go over all of the modifications already on the truck and install some brass parts up front to help stabilize the little Land Rover. I think I'll try to post something on this truck at LEAST every other week until we're done with it and ready to move on to the next truck.
At this point almost ALL of the upgrades are from Injora, but they make a lot of awesome stuff for the TRX4M so I'm not really mad about it.
As always thanks for watching.

High Mileage Traxxas TRX4 - Long Term Review
Hello and welcome back to the channel. I'm trying some new stuff in this video and am trying to change the space where I record. Still a lot of work to be done with the space but I wanted to try it out on this video just to see how it goes. The audio might have a little echo to it. I'm still working out the details on how to treat the room so that it sounds better, and the overall level of decor could certainly use a spruce! I'll have a mic stand set up soon and more work will be done, so hang in there and we will have some higher quality videos coming out!
Anyway Back to the video. I wanted to do a long term review on my TRX4 similar to how we did with the TRX4M. This was actually the first truck that I wanted to do a review like this with but I wanted to put a whole lot more miles and hours on it which obviously takes a lot of time! I love my TRX4 so most of this video is going to be pretty positive. Do you guys like these long term style reviews? I feel like I could definitely do more if you guys find them useful.

Which upgrades are the game changers that I would recommend to a friend? Well that's how this list, and video was born. Check out my top 5 and let me know in the comments if there are any upgrades that you would do differently!
This first TRX4M build is well on its way and I think we're starting to get closer to the end. It's been a really fun truck to build and if to be completely honest I think I may find myself building another one before too long! Maybe I'll start the next one off (if I do it) with these top 5 and see how accurate I was!

Rock Van Build Part 3 - Hobby Plus makes good stuff!
Hello and welcome back to the Big Block Rock Van build!
In this video we're getting back on the Rock Van project and installing 3 upgrades from Hobby Plus! We're doing the inner fender kit, the high clearance links, and the servo on axle conversion kit. SCX24 Injora Rock Buggy Chassis, Shocks and Huge Tires!
I came across my old, dusty SCX24 when I was setting up a shelf in the garage and thought that it needed a little something to bring it back to life!
I took a look at all the stuff on offer and the Rock Buggy chassis from Injora really caught my eye! I went ahead and ordered that along with some shocks and new tires to get this refresh started. I'll install all of that stuff in this video and give it a little run on some nearby rocks to see how it is without any other mods.
I'm really excited to get my SCX24 back off the shelf and hope this stuff will inspire me to build it into a cool little rock crawler!

RC Icons | Kyosho Mini-Z
This is a different kind of series where we take a look at RC cars that stand the test of time. RC cars that have that certain something special about them that keep them relevant regardless of where the trends in the hobby go.
For the first episode I chose to go with the Kyosho Mini-Z. The Mini-Z is an exceptional example of an RC car that has achieved an iconic status. From its size, to the level of scale detail Kyosho includes in each model, to the dedicated fan base the Mini-Z easily stands out from the crowd.
We will take a look at a couple of Mini-Z's from my collection, run them, and talk about them a little bit with the goal of hopefully showing people who may not know, what makes them so cool!

Hexmods Reviewed and Compared to the Mini-Z
Hello and welcome back to the channel!
I saw this little Hexmods product at my local Target and thought it sounded strangely familiar. Almost like a certain Radio Shack product I owned years and years ago. Anyway I just had to check one of these things out since I was into X Mods when I was younger. Is it any good? Does it compare with the X Mods at all? How does it stack up against the Mini-Z? I'll let you know in this video!
If you liked the video give me a like and if you like this type of content, hit that subscribe button! I try to post at least one video a week and its always something RC related.
Have any of you tried out one of these Hexmods? What did you think? Let me know in the comments below! Also, kids shouldn't be allowed to have trombones outside. Just sayin!

RC Icons | Tamiya Grasshopper - WHAT A BLAST!
Hey guys,
Today we're running the Grasshopper that I built for the Quarterly Classic test live video. These older Tamiya kits are so much fun to build and even more fun to run! I had a great time bashing this little Tamiya around a construction site that I found locally. I will be doing another Live build in January and its going to be whatever my wife decides to get me for Christmas. I gave her a good list though so I know whatever kit I wind up getting, its going to be awesome! Stay tuned for an update on the date for that because that'll be a much better experience!
Anyway I hope you enjoyed the running video and I'll see you in the next one!
