There's a difference between sharing your testimony of what God has done for you or sharing in order to take part in your healing process (counseling, deliverance, support group) and dwelling on the past (wounds, events, etc.). If you find that there's no forward movement and these things continue to arise in your thoughts or discussions, you may be stuck in a rabbit hole. This is a tactic of the enemy to stay stuck and keep your focus away from God and the present. There is a solution. You'll need to go to the Lord and ask about it. He will provide. The solution will come with His written Word to back it up, which gives the assurance of the source. Everyone has a testimony to share. Some are called to speak it one-on-one. Others are called to speak publicly. The good, bad, and the ugly. At times, it may reflect poorly on a ministry, church, or leaders. The enemy will use those closest to you to silence you in this. All the same, someone needs to hear what you have to say. It's often by our flesh that we take action to help someone without asking what they need. We all mean well, of course. Sometimes in simply acting without asking we make it more difficult to help that person or even add to our own burdens in the process. Most of the time people who are hurting (loss, depression, etc) don't need another lecture, sermon, or false positivity. Instead, it's much simpler than that. It may just be a hug, your presence, or a listening ear without counsel they aren't asking for or needing. Just ask. The Lord requires us to lay down our lives for one another. Jesus commands us to. So many walk this out wholeheartedly, and often no one has done the same for them. The need for these ones is so rare. But once in a while, they need someone to be willing to sacrifice for them in the same way, even if it means that person dropping everything to help. It's not for the sake of being served, for we aren't called to that. They simply need help too. They may be hiring on the inside. We're all vessels that God uses. At times, we attempt to be of help to someone, but they push us away. In some instances, they're pushing away the Father, not knowing that you were the vessel He desired to use to help them. It stems from brokenness. They need a healer. They need Jesus. If there is any amount of force, bossing around, commanding, demanding, manipulation, coercion, etc, then it is not of the Lord. So many people in their insecurity expect you to do things a certain way, claiming it is the Lord who wants it to be done in such and such a time or in a certain way. Other times it's just the enemy operating through a person. A good indication of this (aside from the aforementioned) is a loss of peace. If you are not at peace, then there is something wrong. Seek the Lord on how to handle it, then act accordingly. This doesn't pertain to prayers that border on sin, cursing, and the like. I'm referring to other forms (prayer meetings, praying in the spirit, in tongues). For way too long, many in the Body of Christ have been judged because they don't meet expectations relating to praying with a partner or in a group. It's no wonder that so much strife arises. It's time to honor one another and build up, not tear down. We don't all operate the same. 1 John 4:1 reminds us to test the spirit. It includes everything, whether the people, words, messages, things spoken or written. It doesn't matter who's speaking or writing. It could be someone you have known all your life or a complete stranger. It is still necessary to test the spirits. Much of the time they are following the Holy Spirit if they are true Christ followers. However, even well-meaning people are used by the enemy. Also, you may not be meant to receive everything spoken over you or that you have heard and read. True love is accountability. Otherwise, it's merely tolerance. From time to time, we all have those in our lives who leave us drained. I'm not referring to children or certain others in your charge/care. Sometimes it's multiple someones. These leave exhausted and empty. At times, they'll still take anything and everything you have as you're down and out yourself. Yet they'll disappear as you struggle, only returning when you're on the up again. Some know full well what they are doing, for they take advantage of you and the light that is inside of you. Others are truly broken and do not have the knowledge or full knowledge of what they're doing. They're just seeking to get everything they can to help themselves. Accountability is necessary here regardless of whether the person is a follower of Christ or not. The cycle cannot continue. you matter. you can help others, but boundaries are healthy. James 1:22: Be doers of the Word and not hearers only. Matthew 5:37: Let your yes be yes and your no be no. This isn't meant for everyone. It's meant for a few out there who have someone they hoped would come to them, whether for prayer, when issues arise, or for support. That other person chooses not to for a reason, and most of the time it has nothing to do with pride. There are many reasons that were not mentioned in the video, but these pretty much hinge on the ones who need to hear this. The ones you hoped would come to you won't on that account. It may even be a trust factor. Take this before God and get the solution. If you really desire to be of help to that person, work for it with the Lord. Truth be told: the world is getting darker. The Internet, once a tool, has become an echo chamber for billions. So much ends up on there. Many reasons are behind it. No need to list the obvious. However, there is a two-fold reason that is not always thought of. First, there are ones who literally have no one to talk to or willing to listen. Second, many others feel as though no one in their life is willing to listen. Many listeners out there fall into this category. People in their lives don't quiet down to listen or they just don't want to hear anything else. It's no wonder so many don't feel as though they're valued or heard. Often, what they have to say is important. So, they resort to the echo chamber which is the Internet. Chances are we all know someone who spends tons of time on social media. Ask the Lord, then go to them and let them know they're valued. Let them know that they're heard and acknowledged.
