A Volcanic Eruption Just Started in Iceland
An eruption just started near the crater from the 2021 eruption in Geldingadalir, Iceland, like I had promised, I was close by and this is some of the first footage shot from there but it was windy so I didn't have full range with the drone so I'm leaving a link to close ups images shot from a plane just now. And live cam links of course.
The fissure is longer than then opened up during the 2021 eruption but this is so new that I'm not sure if the area will be evacuated, but it's possible until the scientists see how this plays out, like with gas pollution, and in case the issuer will extend to both or south. As it looks not, the lava will flow to Merardalur valley so this looks like the best case scanner now.
This quick edit is just a small part of a huge photo tour today and I had no time for voiceover since I'm going to stay here in Grindavík longer, and then make a super fine video with HQ footage. And with that I'm sending you best regards from Iceland.

Tourists flock to Iceland volcano, cook food on lava
Sightseers have been flocking to a spectacular volcano eruption in Iceland. Lava has been flowing from Keilir since the mountain first started spewing fire a week ago. But hikers trying for the perfect selfie are being warned not to get too close.
Lava bubbles, spits and pours out of from the crater of this volcano. It began erupting here on Iceland's Reykjanes Peninsula last Friday - the first time in around 900 years. So perhaps it's no surprise that thousands of people have been flocking here to witness this rare event, trying to get as close as they dare for that perfect picture.
With hikers getting hungry, some have used the lava as a giant grill. But this does come with a warning. There have also been warnings of volcanic gas pollution.
Before the eruption there were more than 50,000 earthquakes here in just three weeks. They were caused by a large body of molten rock, known as magma, which has pushed its way to the surface.
It's unclear for how much longer this volcano will continue to erupt. For now though, Icelanders are enjoying its hypnotic displays.

5 gaits of the Icelandic horse
The five amazing gaits of the Icelandic horse, including "tölt" and flying pace.
The horses of Iceland are a so-called gaited horse breed. This means that most Icelandic horses have two extra gaits to offer besides walk, trot and canter/gallop. All horse breeds have these three natural gaits and can perform them without training. The extra gaits that set the Icelandic horse apart from other breeds are called tölt and flying pace. The extra gaits are natural and new-born foals frequently show them right from the start.
