North Battleford Camping! Paddle Saskatchewan | Uncle Don Celebration of Life
This weekend was a time of reflection and spent with family. Veronica got to spend time with cousins while we celebrated the life of Uncle Don. Saskatchewan runs deep in mikes family it's where there life in Canada began!
We relaxed, we Paddled, we tried to hide from the wind and just enjoyed spending some much needed time away, time with family and a time to remember.

Fort Edmonton Park | Explore Edmonton Alberta's History
Take a walk with us back in time to Edmonton's early days. We visit Fort Edmonton Park located on 158 Acers in the North Saskatchewan River Valley of Edmonton Alberta, Canada. Fort Edmonton was established by the Hudson's Bay Company on the banks of the North Saskatchewan River in 1795. By 1821 The Hudson's Bay Company and the North West Trading Company Joined and the Fort Flourished until the late 1860's. The Fort's decline was a result of the Hudson's Bay Company surrendering Rupart's Land. Unfortunately the Fort was dismantled in 1915 however today you can visit the complete reconstructed fort and take a ride on an old 1919 Baldwin Steam Locomotive Train around the Park. Today Fort Edmonton Park is a living museum that showcases Edmonton's early development and also features a 1920's Midway. There really is something for every age to be able to enjoy!

1974 Winnebago Indian 4 Things Wrong with the RV | Telford Lake Boardwalk Alberta Adventurer Family
Today we talk about our RV and pros and cons of having a reliable truck and trailer instead. We love to be able to live our adventurer life style of hiking, paddling with our 17' Clipper Canoe, and travel back country roads. Being able to have a car seat and the canoe also our hiking gear is a must. Also with the rising gas prices we just can't justify spending all the money for adjustments to rush and camp in it this season or next. So for now we will still work on the Winnebago just not a top priority anymore.

Aurora Borealis Northern Lights | #Shorts
We are so lucky to live in a place that we are able to view the Aurora Borealis also known as the Northern Lights. Some people go their whole lives without seeing this Natural Phenomenon. Most think you have to travel to the great white North to see them but that is not true. Did you know that the Auroras also shine in the southern Hemisphere. Our best recommendation is to get out away from the city lights and the light pollution to get the best showing if you live where they are visible! Thanks for watching and if you like adventure, vintage rv's and just have a positive outlook on life we would love if you follow along on our Adventures... Till next time YouTube Family! Oh and this whole video was shot with a GoPro Hero 8 from Central Alberta, Canada; who knew they had a night mode setting?

Gearing Up For Spring & Daylight Savings | Alberta Gardening, Ice Sculptures, and The Farm!
Today We Gear up For Spring and change our clocks ahead 1 hour for Daylight Saving Time. We start our Garden seedlings, check out some ice sculptures and visit the farm to see our friends rescued geese, chickens and new baby ducklings. We live in a Zone 3 Garden climate and it can be very tricky to grow your own plants. This year we want to double our harvest so with planning and some more raised garden beds we should be able to do it. This is the first year we will also try growing our own annual flowers for our deck pots. So exciting! The ice sculptures we checked out were done by 3 local men from the Beaumont Arts Society. They did an amazing job carving 3 sculptures a night for a week straight. Great job boys we really enjoyed the display. Thanks again for following along on another day in our life and our family adventures. Don't forget to Like and Subscribe to see more videos like this one!

Now we are not going to sit here and give you a complete history lesson on the town of Vegreville and the remanence of Bardo but we will give you a quick run down and some cool fact's along the way. Vegreville is a town rich in history dating back to the late 1800's; today it is known for the World's largest Easter egg or Ukrainian Pysanka. This Pysanka however is also a giant Weather Vane that stands on a 27 000 lbs base. 7 ft) The giant egg has 177 internal struts holding it together along with 6978 nuts & bolts. It boasts 524 star patterns, 2208 equilateral triangles and 3512 facets. The Giant Egg was built in 1974 honoring the 100th Anniversary of the March west by the North West Mounted Police. It represents the peace and security by the Police in the Early years of the settlers.
FACT: Pysanka - Pysty means to write
COLORS OF THE PYSANKA (EASTER EGG)
Bronze - Good Earth in Area
Gold Stars - Good Fortune
3 pointed starts - devotion to ancestors
band of silver - eternity
Gold & silver windmills - rich harvest
Silver wolfs teeth - Security & protection of the RCMP
The first settlers to the area came in the late 1800's but it wasn't until 1894 when the French Canadian's immigrated from Kansas that Vegreville's rich agricultural history began. In 1895 the community was growing and they decided to name it Vegreville after Father Valentin Vegreville, a Roman Catholic Oblate missionary in Western Canada. Around 1904 the Canadian National Railway was being built but it wouldn't be going through town so they picked up the entire community, buildings and all and moved it a few km away to where the railway would pass through. By 1905 the first Catholic Church was built and the community had several small homes, a hotel, banks, blacksmith police barracks and a few stores. The Vegreville Train station was built in 1930 and also had a Telegraph office located on site. The train station still stands today and is a local restaurant and Historical site. Vegreville has plenty sites to see and just a drive around the Historic downtown is cool. In the summer months there is plenty of old classic cars driving around.
On our way home we took a back road to drive through what would have been Bardo, Alberta. The Wooden grain Elevators stands on private property today but is visible from the road. Please be respectful! It is very sad to see these wooden grain elevators slowly disappearing however the cost to repair is one hard bill to swallow. From what we have read the grain elevator was built in 1920. One thing 2020 taught us was to slow down and explore our own backyard. We have done several small day trips from Edmonton in the last year and taken many backroads and we always find something to see or take a picture of. WOW is Alberta ever rich in History. If you likes the video and enjoy adventuring don't forget to like and subscribe; We would love to have you along on our Adventures!

Camper Kitchen Remodel & Install Butcher Block Countertop | Resin Pour | Vintage RV Makeover
Hey guys the wife and I decided to strip down a old 1974 Winnebago Indian D23L to bare bones to start the restoration. This Vintage RV fires up and gets a new look on life in this winter project as the Kipp family does an over hall to bring this beauty back to life. Follow us along and see our adventures to come!
In this video we Install our Butcher Block Countertop and pour resin for a finish. We purchased a standard size counter top from our local RONA store that was 25 inches wide we needed 29 inches so we cut and made some changes to make it fit. Then we sanded and prepped for a smooth resin food grade finish. Still need to calk / silicone but it looks great and we love our new counter. Now to clean up the sink replace the drain and cut it in.
It has a 440 engine, thermal steel construction and a new floor plan to come!

Abandoned Rexall Place, Ice Sculptures | Big Park Family Road Trip Vlog | Leduc #1 Oil Well
-Life is slowly starting to get back to normal; the lockdown is not as harsh as it once was and we can go to a restaurant and eat with our family, Malls are open at 15% capacity and we will be moving into Phase 2 of Alberta's path forward plan. Museums, children's sports, play places and so much more still remain closed. This past week we asked our followers what they wanted to see next and RV Vlog/ Family Vlog were tied. We choose family Vlog as the weather is the warmest it's been in weeks and for the sake of our Mental Health we all needed out and to have some fun! Don't worry RV Vlog will be coming very soon as we have a lot of work to do! We hit 6 degrees Celsius over the weekend which is a breath of fresh air for us here in Alberta. That being said our thoughts and prayers go out to our fellow Americans that have had a rough last week; We hope you all are safe and warm!
We took the weekend and took our daughter to a cool playground in rural Strathcona County and checked out some abandoned buildings along our drive. Then we headed into the City of Edmonton to see the Abandoned Rexall Place home of the Edmonton Oilers from 1974-2016. Great Memories were made at this coliseum from hockey games to the shrine circus to many great concerts; we will be sad to see it demolished in the near future. Hope everyone enjoyed this vlog we will see you next week! Thanx for Watching.

Pull Out Couch Bed Installation | S02 E07 | Vintage RV Restoration Renovation
Hey guys the wife and I decided to strip down a old 1974 Winnebago Indian D23L to bare bones to start the restoration. This Vintage RV fires up and gets a new look on live in this winter project as the Kipp family does a over hall to bring this beauty back to life. Follow us along and see our adventures to come! In this video we start to rebuild the pull out full size bed. We went to Rona and picked up 3/4 in. Birch Plywood it was a terrific deal. I measured out the width we needed and cut the sheet in half. We will be using the original leg support but will be painting it black. We want to replace all the cushions in the RV as these are not the original and they smell funky. What she we use for new cushions? Should we make it look vintage? Anyways we hope you enjoyed this episode. Don't forget to smash that subscribe button as it really helps us out especially if you want to see more RV Vlogs as rebuilding this beast isn't cheep. Oh ya, Leave us a comment and let us know what we should do next. What do you want to see?

Mpemba Effect | Northern Lights Canada | Aurora Borealis Vlog | Freezing Water Instantly!
This week we decided to stay at home and try to stay warm as Alberta is currently experiencing a Polar Vortex; We usually get at least one every winter but they never get any easier. We are also still under restrictions in Alberta and cannot have any social gatherings which is really starting to get to us. Tell us what things are like where you live, How are the travel restrictions? We enjoyed the view of the cold winter day from the hot tub and when the sun set and we were all ready for bed Mother Nature had a different plan. WOW did the Aurora Borealis/Northern Lights ever dance for us right in our own Backyard. So of course we grabbed our Camera and phones and headed outside to brave the night and the -50 degrees weather with the wind chill. It was so worth it! What a blessing to see in the dark and cold of winter! However we have never filmed the lights before and our camera kept trying to freeze so the footage is a little blurry … that being said we still hope you enjoy the show. We also decided to build our daughter a playroom as our winters are long and it seems these Covid restrictions just keep going.
We also decided to have some fun experimenting with Soap Bubbles in the cold air and of course the Hot water Mpemba Effect is what happens when you have really cold air and Hot water, Hot water freezes faster than cold water. Anyways we hope you enjoyed this stay at home Adventure we had and Thanks for watching!

Welcome To Edmonton Alberta, Canada where we love our hockey but we also are known for a lot more than that. We are Alberta's Capital City located in the Central area of the Province. We are the Festival City of the North, our river valley is 22 times the size of Central Park in New York City, We get 17hrs of daylight in the summer and we are the largest Northernmost Metropolis in North America. Our City is rich in History and is a great place to visit... in the Summer!
Sites along the way (Times stamps)
00:22 Giant Replica Stanley Cup
00:37 Whyte Avenue and Art work

05:22 Drone Shots and Skidoo Fun
Giant Replica Stanley Cup located in Old Strathcona stands 12.5 ft. tall and weighs 850 lbs.; it was built in 2007. Then we take a drive down Whyte Avenue!

Walter Dale Bridge spans the North Saskatchewan River with one way traffic heading North into Downtown YEG. The new Bridge was completed in 2017 and replaced the old Walter Dale bridge that stood from 1967-2017
High Level Bridge Spans the North Saskatchewan River with one way traffic heading South into Old Strathcona; Clearance below this bridge is 48 m or 157 ft. The Bridge is lit up with color changing LED's and is a sight to see at night. The High Level Bridge is also a Municipal Historic Resource as of 1995. Edmonton and Old Strathcona became one city 1912 and the High level was completed in 1913. In 1980 2 way traffic ended on both the Walter Dale and the High Level and they became 1 way bridges.
Rogers Place was completed in 2016 and cost around 480 million to build. Home to the Edmonton Oilers and can sit 18 500 people for a hockey game and around 20 000 for a concert venue. Rogers Place replaced Rexall Place which is now abandoned and soon to be demolished. The Neon Light Outdoor Sign Museum is located right by Rogers Place and is free to visit 365 days a year. It is a nice display of 20 restored signs from Edmonton's Past.
The Alberta Legislature Building was constructed from 1907-1913 but has had renovations done over the years. This is a beautiful building and is especially nice to visit in the summer. Many walking paths through the gardens and around the fountains makes for nice pictures and a picnic. However in the winter it is all decorated up with lights and can be a nice stop on a calm night. Hope you guys enjoy the Drive and thanks for all the Subs! Thank you to Jeff for the GoPro footage it completed the Video! If you guys enjoyed the video and would like to see some more cool sights around Edmonton Alberta, let us know in the comments below.

Big Valley Round House & Turntable | Alberta Road Trip! | Alberta History & Historic Places!
Today we braved the cold Alberta weather and snow storm and headed South to Big Valley Alberta to check out the historic Round house and turn table, workshop, grain elevator and St. Edmunds Church. This second class station was completed in 1912 and was used till the 1940's. this 70 foot round house & turn table turned steam locomotives to enter the round house for maintenance and repairs; balancing on a center baring in a circular pit. The Workshop & Boiler room of the roundhouse was used to run large tool's such as lathe's and wheels for repairing the Steam Locomotives; The Workshop was closed in 1943. The Big Valley Grain Elevator that stand near by is designated as a Provincial Historic Resource and was built in 1960. The Train station located by the Roundhouse and is 2 stories and was built in 1912. It consisted of a waiting room, office, cashier & telegraph operator; The upstairs was used as a bunk house for train crews.
St. Edmunds church stands atop a hill and is a sight to see. This little blue church was built in 1916 and was recognized as a landmark. The view from the church is one we won't forget; with the snow falling and the Grain elevator in the distance this truly is a beautiful little spot in Big Valley. The unique one room jail cell sits upon main street and was used from 1914 - the early 40's. Also right across the street don't forget to check out Jimmy Jock Boardwalk in the center of town this is where the trading post is located.
Well considering we are still on lockdown here in Alberta and nothing is open, this was still a really great village to check out even if it is for some cool Instagram photos. We will defiantly be returning to this town in the summer to get the whole adventure and explore some more!
