Floating 711 in the Philippines
Have you ever heard of a floating 711?
These entrepreneurs in the Philippines frequent the most popular spots around Coron and El Nido. They come up to all the tourist boats selling beer, water, cigarettes, chips and even ice cream!
Make sure you bring cash if you want to buy yourself a little treat on your day out exploring the Philippines!

How to spend 3 days in Coron, Palawan
How to spend 3 days in Coron, Palawan:
Day 1: Snorkeling at Siette Pecados
• We rented a bike and went to Siette Pecados.
It turned out to be my favorite snorkeling spot in Coron!
• You can rent a kayak, goggles, and fins from the tourist hut and paddle your way out there. It only takes 5-10 minutes.
• There's a swimming dock, a few islands to check out, and great snorkeling.
Day 2: Ultimate Island Tour
• We did the Ultimate Island Tour, which took us to 5 hot spots around Coron.
• We visited Kayangan Lake, Barracuda Lake, Twin Lagoon, 2 beaches, and snorkeled at the Skeleton Wreck.
• The scenery was beautiful, but all of these spots were very busy.
Day 3: Wreck Diving
• We spent a day wreck diving old WWII shipwrecks.
• We dove 3 different wrecks, all of which were shot down by US aircrafts in 1944.

Taking the ferry from Coron to El Nido, Philippines
Taking the ferry from Coron to El Nido is easy, but it's not cheap! At ₽2816 per person, it was the most expensive ferry we took in the Philippines.
There are 2 ferry companies that do this route and they both leave early in the morning.
We went with Atienza, as they left at 7am. You can book your tickets at the Arienza Shipping office, near to the Port of Coron. You can find it on Google or Apple maps.
The other Shipping company office is directly across from Atienza and they leave at 6am.
The ferry left on time, was comfortable with good bathrooms and air conditioning.
I actually recommend bringing a sweater or something warm for the ferry rides as sometimes they get quite chilly from the aircon!

400 Year Old Enchanted Balete Tree on Siquijor Island
The Enchanted Balete Tree in Siquijor!
Balete trees are believed to be magical, and home to spirits and mysterious creatures. Locals will come and leave money in the tree for good luck, and some will admit their sins and ask for forgiveness.
What makes this one unique is the natural spring that comes from underneath the tree.
It flows into a Man-Made pool filled with doctor fish, they call it a fish spa and if you stick your feet in there, the fish will come and eat the dead skin!
There are some big ones in there and they look intimidating, but it just tickles and doesn't hurt.

Visiting the Chocolate Hills I'm Bohol for sunrise
Visiting for sunrise: if you are coming from Loboc, you are going to want to leave between 430-445am for the 6am sunrise. It takes about an hour to drive there and the road is very winding so you'll want to be cautious driving in the dark. It's cold driving at that time so wear something warm.
It says it opens at 830am but when we arrived at 5:50am there was already people there collecting the entry fee, and a bunch of other tourists. Entry fee was ₽100 per person.
When you're arriving that early you can drive right up to the complex and park there.
There's around 200 steps to get to the top. You may be greeted with an amazing sunrise, or you may be lucky like us and be greeted with thick fog.
We wanted until about 730am for the fog to clear but didn't have much luck, and only got a small glimpse of the hills.
The hills are only 'chocolate' during the dry season, and are lush and green during the wet season.
There's a sign stating you can't fly drones after 8am, so if you want to fly your drone, you gotta get there early. We counted 4 drones while we were there.

Shipwreck Scuba Dive in Coron, Philippines
Shipwreck diving in Coron, Philippines:
We went with Reggae Dive Center in Coron and enjoyed our day with them. We checked out a few dive shops and they had the best vibes, good group sizes (3 divers to one divemaster), picked us up in the morning and gave us a discount for having our own gear.
We dove 3 wrecks: The Akitsushima, The Okikawa Maru, and the Lusong Gun Boats.
Lunch was provided onboard in between the 2nd and 3rd dives.
The dive sites are around a 1-1.5 hour boat ride from Coron, so you'll be out most of the day.
These were some really cool wrecks with a lot of history!

This is the best place in El Nido to watch the sunset!
Where is the best place to watch the sunset in El Nido, Palawan?
Las Cabanas Beach is the best/most popular spot to catch an amazing sunset!
It's only 10-15 minute ride from downtown El Nido, and you can take your bike or a trike, it cost about ₽150 each way via trike.
Get there early to get a good spot, especially if you want a seat at the bar! No purchase is necessary from the bar to watch the sunset.

What would you do? Ship wreck scuba diving in Coron, Philippines

📍This was the Okikawa Maru shipwreck dive in Coron, Philippines 🇵🇭
This freaky creature is a feather star, and they belong to the same family as starfish. A little creepy looking in this setting, but harmless.

Every winter we head to the lake to do our annual sauna and ice dunks. The previous owners were Swedish and built this amazing wood fire sauna right in front of the lake!
Now, it's ours to enjoy. It's a super fun family tradition, and even my mom gets in!

Where to spot Wildlife in Jasper National Park?
Where to spot Wildlife in Jasper National Park?
My favorite area for Wildlife spotting in Jasper is taking a drive down Maligne Lake Road! That is where we spotted this big guy.
I've seen wildlife 9/10 times I've driven this road. If your looking for moose, this is your best chance.
The road to Pyramid Lake is another good spot for elk and sheep spotting.
For bears, I've had the best luck on the road up to Edith Cavelle.
What and where was your best wildlife spotting in Jasper National Park?

Things we look for in a campsite
The things we look for in a campsite:
We don't just roll up and pick the first camp site that we see. We scope them out and find 'the one.'
Here are a few things we look for in a campsite
Good, flat spot to set up the tent. We particularly dislike a gravel pit campsite, we prefer ones that are dirt.
Spacious. We have a bit of camping gear now, and like to spin/flow, so we like a little space to groove in our site.
Privacy. I want some space/trees in between my campsites! I hate being able to see directly into someone else's area. Awko taco.
A good fire pit. Gotta make sure that grill hasn't been damaged or the pit has been moved around.
Near the water. Rarely do we pick a campsite that isn't near a lake or river or some sort of water source.
A good spot to hang the hammock. Gotta take those hammock naps.
Bonus points for a cheap nightly rate, and mega bonus points if fire wood is included!

How to spend 2 days in Yoho National Park, British Columbia
How to spend 2 days in Yoho National Park:
Day 1: Drive to Yoho National Park and go straight to Takakkaw Falls, Canada's 2nd tallest waterfall!
It's a short and easy walk from the parking lot and you can get right up close to Takakkaw Falls.
Next head to the Takakkaw Falls walk in campground and set up camp for the night with a view of Takakkaw Falls!
Day 2: Walk right from your campsite to the trailhead for Twin Falls. This is a moderately rated hike at 7.9km and 300m elevation gain.
This hike along the Yoho Valley Trail is a waterfall lovers dream! It has lots of other waterfalls and scenic spots to stop along the way.

POV: You're driving the most scenic highway in the world
Highway 93, also known as the Icefields Parkway, is a breathtaking and scenic mountain road that stretches through the heart of the Canadian Rockies in Alberta, Canada. Connecting Jasper National Park to Banff National Park, this iconic route offers travelers a visual feast of majestic mountain peaks, glaciers, turquoise lakes, and dense forests.
The highway winds its way through the rugged landscapes of the Rockies, providing stunning vistas at every turn. Along the route, you'll encounter iconic landmarks such as the Columbia Icefield, Athabasca Glacier, and numerous pristine lakes, including Peyto Lake and Bow Lake. Wildlife sightings are common, with opportunities to spot elk, bears, mountain goats, and more.
This drive provides endless views of the Rocky Mountains, glaciers, waterfalls and Gatorade blue lakes.
I recommend everyone drive this road at least once in their lives!
