Lotus Tower Sri Lanka | Nelum Kuluna Colombo | Tallest Tower Sri Lanka | Travel | Visit Sri Lanka

Lotus Tower is one of the most well-known tourist attractions in the town of Colombo, Sri Lanka. This tower is the highest in South Asia, the 11th tallest in Asia, and the 19th tallest in the entire globe, standing at a height of 356 meters. Two inverted trapezoids will also be used to build the tower foundation, which takes its design cues from the lotus throne. A seamless transition between pink and pale yellow is intended for the tower's hue, which will be accomplished by coating the glass. The tower has a height of 350 m (1,150 ft) and a floor area of 30,600 m2 (329,000 sq ft). It ranks as the 11th tallest tower in Asia, the tallest tower in South Asia, and the 19th tallest tower overall.

Meeyan Ella Falls Sri Lanka | Ihalakotte | Waterfall | Travel | Adventure Hike | | Visit Sri Lanka
Many environmentalists, waterfall aficionados, and members of the general public in our nation are unaware of Meeyan Ella Falls. At the very least, few people even know where it is. This waterfall is situated close to the Ihalakotte train station along the Kandy railway line. Helan-Madiththa, a location on the Alagalla mountain, is the source of the stream that forms the Meeyan Ella waterfall. The waterfall's original course passed through the villages of Walagoda and Thalagolla before merging with Thalagolla Oya. It then fell as a single stream over a rock. The connection between Ma Oya in Boella and Thalagolla Oya follows.
However, the waterfall now divides into two segments with a 50-meter separation. A fascinating tale of how a large waterfall was once split into two smaller ones. To carry products, especially Ceylon tea from Kandy for export during the British Colonial Era, the Colonials built a railway line between Colombo and Kandy. The mid-1800s saw the construction of the railroad line between Polgahawela and Kandy.

Yahangala Mountain Sri Lanka | Hiking Yahangala | Adventure Hike | Mountaineering | Visit Sri Lanka
In Sri Lanka, Yahangala is a highly well-liked trekking location. Local visitors are more inclined to visit than tourists from other countries. This peak is known as "Bed Rock" by some. It stands at a height of 1220 meters above sea level and is another mountain in the Knuckles Mountain Range. The location is part of Kandy District's Udadumbara Divisional Sectarian region. Additionally, Kandy is 60.2 miles distant (it will take around 1 hour 44 minutes). For people who enjoy hiking, trekking, adventure sports, and camping, this is a fantastic location.
A huge flat region is covered by Yahangala's summit. One of Yahangala's wonders, according to locals, is the absence of large trees. The location is perfect for a campsite and offers breathtaking 360-degree views. From the peak, one can view the "Mahaweli River," "Kehelpathdoruwa," and all three of these landmarks. This object is known as a "yahangala" because of its bed-like appearance. Yahangala is positioned southeast of Knuckles. The topmost part of the Yahangala rock is around two or three acres in size. The entire mountain is exposed to the air, and you may travel both ways. There were no fountains or trees to be found; only broken pieces of stone covered the ground.

Adam's Peak Sri Lanka | Sri Padaya in Sri Lanka | Visit Sri Lanka
In the picturesque hill region of Sri Lanka, Adams Peak, also known as Sri Pada (or Sacred Footprint), is located next to the little town of Dalhousie (Nallathanniya). Adams Peak, which has a staggering 5,500 steps, has established a reputation as a sacred mountain and attracts a large number of pilgrims because of its spiritual significance. Mountain called Adam's Peak in southwest Sri Lanka. It is situated 11 miles (18 km) northeast of Ratnapura, the Sabaragamuwa province's capital, and is 7,559 feet (2,304 meters) high. The Sri Pada, which translates to "Sacred Footprint" in Sinhala, is a hollow that is 67 inches (170 cm) long and 18 inches (46 cm) broad and looks like the print of a human foot. Buddhists, Hindus, Christians, and Muslims all revere the Sri Pada. Every year, several pilgrims of all religions travel to the top.
The tallest peak in Sri Lanka is Pidurutalagala, not Adam's Peak, but it towers over the surrounding range and resembles a pyramid due to its conical form. Tropical rainforest covers the area around Adam's Peak, and the Peak Wilderness Sanctuary was established as a protection area in 1940. Elephants live there, cut off from the lowlands by the tea farms that surround the sanctuary. Adam's Peak is the source of the Kelani, Walawe, and Kalu, three of Sri Lanka's largest rivers. The summit is notable for being abundant in garnets, rubies, and sapphires and is made of gneiss granite.

Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil Jaffna - Sri Lanka
The biggest Hindu temple in Sri Lanka's Northern Province is called Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil. Lord Murugan, who is represented by the holy "Vel" in the Sanctum, the main shrine, and by Shanmugar, Muthukumaraswami, Valli Kaanthar with consorts Valli and Deivayanai, and Thandayuthapani, without consorts, in minor shrines, is the presiding deity in the temple. It is appropriate to refer to it as the Hindu spiritual hub of Jaffna. 2.5 kilometers (km) northeast of Jaffna's city center is Nallur. The 'Jaffna Kingdom,' a late medieval and early modern Tamil principality, had its capital at what is now Nallur.

𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐫𝐢 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐚
The British constructed Christ Church Warleigh, an Anglican church, in Sri Lanka during the 19th century. The Church of Ceylon is in charge of running it. The church, which is a popular tourist site, is one of Sri Lanka's most notable and historic Anglican churches. It is located in Dickoya, close to the Nuwara Eliya District, in the Central Province of Sri Lanka, along the Hatton-Norwood route that runs through the Warleigh Division. The Castlereagh Reservoir and tea farms are on each side of the chapel.
The chapel was constructed in 1878 using solid granite stones that were a gift from an Englishman named William Scott. The cemetery has the grave markers of English plantation owners and their family who were unable to return to Britain. In the vast tea gardens of Wanarajah estate, one of the biggest tea estates, charming scenes of ladies picking tea leaves play out close to Dickoya. The foggy hill towns of the Central highlands, which were discovered by British planters who realized that the temperature here is comparable to that of England, have a unique British rural atmosphere thanks to the ancient colonial-era bungalows and structures.

The mountain Dolukanda is located in the Kurunegala District, about 20 kilometers from the city of Kurunegala, near the Hiripitiya hamlet. It rises around 600 meters vertically from the flat plains. Its dimensions are around 2 kilometers long by 0.5 kilometers wide, with a forest reserve on top.
Folklore holds that the Rama-Rawana Legendary Battle served as the starting point for Dolukanda. Lord Rama and his brother Lakshman were both wounded by powerful arrows and knocked out during the battle between Ravana and Lord Rama. In order to preserve their lives, Lord Hanuman was charged with bringing them life-saving herbs from the Himalayas. Because he was unable to recognize the essential plants, he had to transplant a portion of the hill in Sri Lanka that he had previously brought back from India. It is stated that some of the hill's fragments fell on five Sri Lankan places when he was moving it; these areas are believed to be the cities of Dolukanda in the south, Rumasala in the north, Thalladi in Mannar, Ritigala in the east, and Kachchativu in the west. On the other hand, the top of Dolukanda is known as a herbal paradise since a variety of plant species with therapeutic potential may be found there.

Bevis Bawa, a landscape architect and the proprietor of Brief Garden, the brother of renowned architect Jeffrey Bawa, built the landscape garden and previous residence in Beruwala, Sri Lanka. The third-largest park in Sri Lanka, also known as the Lost Lover's Flower Garden, spans 20 acres. This lovely garden is located 10 kilometers from Bentota.
When Bevis went to run the family rubber estate in 1929, he also started the garden. He cut down the cash crop tree to make room for his home and then for the array of exquisitely manicured areas that were connected by vibrant, thickly planted walkways. In 1969, when the garden first welcomed visitors, it was already well-known.

In the Badulla District, Kohonawala hamlet is situated just past the Passara Madulsima mountain range. With its breathtaking views, Kohonawala resembles a fairy tale village. It only receives sunlight for six hours (per day), from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm. The hamlet receives just six hours of sunshine due to the ring of mountains that surround it. As a result, Kohonawala is regarded as a unique settlement by visitors.
Kohonawala can only be reached by foot. It takes at least six hours to walk the 12-kilometer route one way, making it a taxing excursion. Therefore, because the full trip takes a day, it is preferable to start early. However, the breathtaking views along the hamlet's road are worthwhile. The people who live in the village have lovely, independent lives. Semi-farming and crop cultivation provides a living for all 45 households in the community.

About 35 kilometers from Batticaloa Town, Pasikuda, which means "green-algae-bay," is located on the eastern shore of Sri Lanka between Kalkuda and the Indian Ocean. Local and foreign visitors are drawn to this expansive sandy area by the bay's turquoise blue seas to surf, swim, or simply enjoy the water's warmth. There are other additional activities available, including kite- and boogie-boarding, surfing, and canoeing.
From one of Pasikudah's most beautiful beaches, navigate the turquoise-blue water to discover the splendors of the fantastic Pasikuda. The beach is well known for its shallow coastline surrounded by robust coral reefs, allowing you to promenade for kilometers in enticing seas that only reach your knees. The most popular thing to do in Sri Lanka is this.

The Kadiyanlena waterfall, located in Nawalapitiya, a green environment, gives even more charm to the already lovely landscape. The waterfall has a peculiar beauty that is unmatched by any other waterfall since it cascades down three steps. The initial part (8 m) descends as a single water stream. The second section (7-8 m) descends over a large boulder. With a total height of around 25m, the third piece, which is 8 to 9 meters long, begins to collapse directly beneath the arch bridge. The magnificent aspect of the water flowing in steps more than makes up for the lack of height, despite the fact that a height of 25m may not seem threatening enough. Water continues to strike the rock from a great height at each phase of the fall. As a result, the enormous boulders have little pools on them, making them perfect locations for diving. Bathing is advised in the first and second portions. Swimming is prohibited in the third stretch because it drops into a pond that is about 30 meters deep.

In the Galle District of Sri Lanka, Madu Ganga is situated adjacent to the town of Balapitiya. The name, which can alternatively be spelled "Maduganga" or "Madhu Ganga," means "Madu River." The main road A2 crosses the Madu Ganga river mouth halfway between the two well-known coastal towns of Bentota and Hikkaduwa. This Madu River creates a complex network of mangrove swamps farther upstream, as well as a large open lake studded with islands.
The biggest surviving mangrove swamp in Sri Lanka and an amphibious environment, Maduganga is home to several fish and reptile species. It's a great place to go bird watching as well. Together with the smaller Randombe Lake, which is located farther south but closer to the coast, and connected to the Madu River by two natural channels, it creates the Madu Ganga Wetland, which is home to almost 250 species of vertebrate animals and more than 300 species of plants. The International Ramsar Convention on Wetlands, a global agreement for the conservation and sustainable use of wetlands, classified Madu Ganga due to its rich biodiversity. The Iranian city of Ramsar, where the Convention on Wetlands was signed in 1971, bears its name.

Sri Lanka's Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces' borders are shared by Udawalawe National Park. The park was established to safeguard the catchment of the reservoir and to offer a sanctuary for wild creatures driven from their natural habitat by the construction of the Udawalawe Reservoir on the Walawe River. The reserve was formed on June 30, 1972, and it has a total land size of 30,821 hectares (119,00 sq mi).
Before the region was designated as a national park, shifting agriculture was practiced there (chena farming). Once the national park was established, the farmers gradually disappeared. 165 kilometers (103 miles) separate Colombo from the park. Elephants from Sri Lanka and waterbirds both depend on Udawalawe as a habitat.

The Ruwanweli Maha Seya, sometimes referred to as the Mahathupa (the Great Thupa), which is a stupa(a hemispherical structure containing relics) in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. The stupa has the greatest collection of the Buddha's relics anyhow quarts, or one Dona and is where they are kept. Around 140 B.C, Sinhalese Monarch Dutugemunu, who succeeded Chola King Ellalan as king of Sri Lanka following a conflict, constructed it. Other names for it include Swarnamali Seya, Rathnamali Seya, and Svaṇṇamāli Mahaceti (in Pali).
This is one of the 16 sites of worship known as the "Solosmasthana" and the "Atamasthana" (the 8 places of veneration). With a height of 103 meters (338 feet) and a diameter of 290 meters, the stupa is one of the oldest and tallest structures in the world (951 ft). Numerous rulers restored the stupa, which had an initial height of roughly 55 meters (180 feet). After this stupa, the Kaunghmudaw Pagoda in Sagaing, Myanmar was designed. The Mahavamsa provides a thorough description of the stupa's construction and dedication ceremonies.

The Seethawaka Wet Zone Botanical Garden in Avissawella, Sri Lanka, is the newest addition to the country's five botanical gardens. It was made public in the latter half of 2014. Only a 90-minute drive separates Avissawella, where this garden is located, from Colombo. If you enjoy spending time outside close to Colombo, this is a fantastic location with all of nature's wonderful joys. The Seethawaka Wet Zone Botanical Garden has excellent landscaping and little alteration to the original topography of the site.
The Sabaragamuwa mountain range surrounds it, and the views from the garden are breathtaking. The Seethawaka Botanical Garden's distinctive characteristics are the large lake at the entrance, the tastefully designed flower beds, and the immaculately trimmed grasses bordering the lake. The garden contains a stream that is crystal clear and supports the existence of many wet zone plants.

The grassland (Plain) known as King Rawana's Chariot Path resembles a route. It is located next to Frotoft Tea Estate in Pussallawa in the Kandy district of the Central Province of Sri Lanka on top of a mountain range encircled by a pygmy forest.
A plain meadow on top of a mountain range that is encircled by a pigmy forest serves as King Ravana's chariot road. According to the legends, this route was first constructed so that King Ravana could utilize his flying chariot, the "Dandu Monaraya," to travel over his realm. According to legends from long ago, he traveled this route to exhibit Queen Seetha of India the splendor, grace, and elegance of his country as well as Sri Lanka.
It is always enjoyable to camp in Sri Lanka's Central Highlands. The outdoors is usually comforting to the mind. The Central Highlands of Sri Lanka provide fantastic camping options. Camping and relaxing time away from modern life distractions are perfect in this undiscovered hidden location.

Kandegama Rock and Alien Mountain are other names for Danigala Circular Rock. In Sri Lanka's Polonnaruwa district, it is located close to Aralaganwila. The Danigala mountain is 280 meters high (919 ft). the most beautiful location is apart from people. The fog is adding to the valley's splendor as it sets, giving a spectacular 360-degree panorama. It looks like an airport where extraterrestrial spaceships might land when viewed from above. The Pamburugala Kanda, Amunugala Kanda, Hikkagala Kanda, and Henanigala mountain ranges may all be seen from the summit of the Danigala mountain range. Danigala Rock is one of the most difficult mountains to climb.
An archeological reserve called Danigala Rock is located on the Maduru Oya boundary. The Maduru Oya dam is supported by the rocks known as the Danigala and Kamburagala. While Kamburagala rock is located in the Ampara district, Danigala/Kandegama rock is in the Polonnaruwa district. The border between the districts of Polonnaruwa and Ampara is the Maduru Oya.
