FORT WORTH, Texas --- On the evening of Saturday, January 27, 2024, at approximately 10:06 p.m., Fort Worth Police Department officers observed a gray pickup truck exiting a parking lot without headlights at 1000 Foch St. The truck proceeded to drive the wrong way on Morton Street, a one-way street. Subsequently, it backed up, narrowly avoiding colliding with a marked police unit, and drove up onto a curb. The officers could hear the passenger instructing the driver to stop. Due to the erratic driving behavior, the officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop. However, the driver fled, rapidly navigating through the parking lot.
At this point officers were concerned that the driver was possibly intoxicated due to his reckless driving and posed a threat to the public in a busy entertainment district, officers witnessed the truck striking curbs and nearly colliding with other vehicles while heading eastbound on West 7th Street. The suspect's actions escalated as the truck cut in front of oncoming traffic, jumped a curb into a bank parking lot, and struck a pole, resulting in severe damage to the front left wheel. Despite the compromised condition of the vehicle, the suspect continued to flee from officers at a high speed back towards the densely populated West 7th area.
Due to the erratic behavior of the suspect, officers decided to back off and slow down. The suspect maneuvered around stopped traffic at the intersection of West 7th and University, ultimately striking a pole and a stationary car. Additionally, the truck hit two pedestrians, an adult male and an adult female, who were on the far side of the intersection.
Responding officers were on the scene within seconds, providing immediate aid to the victims. Both individuals were transported to area hospitals with serious injuries. The suspected drunk driver, identified as Andrew Guerra, 29, from Grand Prairie, had to be extracted from the vehicle and was subsequently taken into custody. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries and refused to provide a blood sample. Consequently, officers obtained a search warrant to determine his blood alcohol content.
Andrew Guerra is currently held in the Tarrant County Jail on a $95,000 bond. He faces charges of Evading Arrest/Detention with Vehicle Causing Serious Bodily Injury, Intoxication Assault with Vehicle Causing Serious Bodily Injury, and Unlawful Restraint. Notably, Guerra has no prior alcohol-related convictions.
The passenger in Guerra’s truck has cooperated with the investigation and is considered the victim in the Unlawful Restraint charge. The police emphasize that Impaired driving is 100% preventable. Drunk driving cases are avoidable and can be traumatizing to victims and their families and put our community at risk. There are too many viable options available for people to get home safely without driving while impaired, such as rideshare, taxis, and designating a non-drinking driver when out with a group.

The Idaho Falls Police Department released dashcam, body cam of a fatal Shooting of suspect wanted on multiple warrents.
shortly after 3:00 a.m. on January 8, 2024, Idaho Falls Police Officers were actively searching for 29-year-old Wyatt Landon in the vicinity of 4th Street and South Lee Avenue. Landon was a wanted individual with multiple warrants, including two felony warrants.
Around 3:10 a.m., an Idaho Falls Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on a white Mazda pickup due to an obstructed license plate, a traffic violation. The stop took place near the intersection of 3rd Street and Lee Avenue. Landon, identified as the passenger in the vehicle, promptly exited and fled on foot in a southbound direction on Lee Avenue. The officer conducting the traffic stop positively identified Landon and pursued him in a vehicle.
Meanwhile, Idaho Falls Police Officer Oscar Rosales, stationed on 4th Street in an unmarked vehicle, was surveilling a residence associated with Landon. Upon hearing radio reports of Landon heading towards his location, Officer Rosales, dressed in an IFPD patrol uniform, exited his vehicle to apprehend Landon near the intersection of 4th Street and South Lee Avenue.
Landon, armed with a handgun, turned westbound onto 4th Street and, upon commands from Officer Rosales, discharged his firearm at the officer. In response, Officer Rosales returned fire, discharging his service weapon multiple times and striking Landon four times.
Following the shooting, officers administered emergency medical aid to Landon. Idaho Falls Fire EMS responded to the scene, transporting Landon to a local hospital. Despite medical efforts, Landon succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, Jesus Rosas, was found in possession of 35.9 grams of methamphetamine, materials indicative of drug trafficking, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm. Rosas, a 44-year-old Idaho Falls resident, was arrested on charges including Trafficking Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and was taken to the Bonneville County Jail.
During the investigation, the EICITF discovered that the magazine from Landon’s gun was lost on Lee Avenue near the vehicle exit. Without the magazine, Landon's gun could only fire a single shot, and the slide did not lock back, indicating the weapon was empty. Officers at the scene were unaware that Landon's gun could not fire again at the time of the shooting. It remains uncertain if Landon was aware of the firearm's condition.
The incident underwent review by the Bonneville County Prosecutor, who concluded that Officer Rosales acted in self-defense, and his actions were legally justified.
Landon’s outstanding warrants at the time of this incident were as follows: Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Felony Flee or Attempt to Elude a Police Officer, Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Felony Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Misdemeanor Flee or Attempt to Elude a Police Officer, Misdemeanor Hit & Run, Misdemeanor Resisting & Obstructing, Misdemeanor Domestic Battery, and Misdemeanor Failure to Provide Proof of Insurance.

California Gang Member Fatal Shooting by Riverside Police Department. December 6, 2023.

RIVERSIDE, CA --- The Riverside Police Department released dashcam and body camera footage of an Officer Involved in a fatal Shooting that occurred in the 3600 block of Banbury Drive on December 6, 2023.
On Wednesday, December 6, 2023, around 1:48 a.m., Riverside Police in California encountered an incident when two patrolling officers on Banbury Drive observed a silver BMW sedan halted in front of the vehicle entrance gate to an apartment complex in the 3600 block.
Upon conducting a records check on the license plate, the officers discovered that the vehicle had recently been towed and stored due to the arrest of the driver, identified as 26-year-old Ryan Joseph Smith from San Bernardino. They promptly initiated an occupied vehicle check and informed dispatch of their actions.
Approaching the idling vehicle, the cover officer peered through the windshield and immediately spotted a gun on Ryan Smith's lap. The cover officer drew his duty weapon and issued repeated commands for Smith to get his hand off the gun. At one point, Smith lifted his hand up but then put it back down on the gun. In response, the officer fired five shots at Smith.
As Smith exited his vehicle, his handgun fell to the ground beside him. Once he was separated from the weapon, both officers immediately initiated life-saving measures until paramedics arrived. Smith was subsequently transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased shortly afterward. It was later discovered that Ryan Smith was currently on probation in Los Angeles County for weapons violations.
A record check conducted that night revealed an active arrest warrant for a weapons offense in Los Angeles County and another warrant in Texas for possession of marijuana. Prior incidents included arrests by the Fontana Police Department in March 2023 for firearms violations, another arrest in November for an outstanding warrant, and an arrest by the Riverside Police Department in October for a warrant.
He was also found to be associated with a criminal street gang out of Fontana, and his tattoos and social media corroborated his gang affiliation.
The firearm in Smith's possession during the incident was identified as a 40-caliber Glock handgun equipped with a high-capacity magazine loaded with 25 rounds. A ballistic examination and testing of Smith's gun confirmed that it had been modified to function as a fully automatic weapon.

On Sunday, January 7th, 2024, Fort Worth Police Patrol officers responded to a robbery call at a business in the 6400 block of McCart Avenue at 4:01 a.m. The details of the call indicated that the suspect, later identified as 37-year-old Walker Cadd, entered the store wearing a face mask and armed with a crowbar.
The initial responding officer arrived at 4:03 a.m. and witnessed Cadd fleeing through the creek bed behind the shopping center toward a residential neighborhood off Westcreek Dr. Cadd proceeded to jump a fence into the backyard of a residence situated at 3200 Fargo Ct.
The officer drew his weapon and promptly issued verbal commands for Cadd to reveal his hands. Despite repeated warnings, Cadd, refusing to comply, responded with several instances of "No!" The officer radioed his precise location to aid fellow officers in locating him. Cadd, undeterred, stood up and approached the officer. Despite multiple warnings of potential consequences, Cadd continued advancing directly toward the officer.
At close proximity, within arm's reach, the officer pushed Cadd to create distance and retreated out of the shed. However, Cadd persisted in ignoring the officer's commands as he exited the shed. Once outside, Cadd moved toward a sizable opening in the fence, providing access to a neighboring residence and an opportunity to escape.
To prevent Cadd's escape, the officer reached for him with his left hand to impede his progress. In response, Cadd turned toward the officer, reaching for the officer's gun. Fearing that Cadd was attempting to seize his weapon, the officer discharged two shots from his pistol, with one shot hitting Cadd in the leg.

Warren police released dashcam of a deadly police chase that occured on december 26, 2023 in the city of Warren, Michigan.
At around 12:09 p.m. Warren officers initially pulled over a red 2015 Chevrolet Cruze for having expired license plates near Van Dyke and Stephens Road.
Officers approached the Chevy and made contact the driver later identified as Maurice Kelley 24 years old. Officers explained the reason for the stop and requested the driver’s identification however the driver advised officers that he did not have identification. Officers then requested that the driver exit the Chevy at which time the driver shifted the vehicle into drive and sped away from officers.
Officers pursued the Chevy onto northbound Lawrence south of 10 Mile in Center Line. The suspect drove in the grass/field near Lawrence and 10 Mile before traveling westbound 10 Mile approaching Ryan. At 10 Mile and Ryan, the suspect disregarded a solid red traffic signal for westbound Ryan and struck a Ford-150 and then a Penske Box Truck.
Officers immediately requested Fire Department personnel and attempted to rescue the driver. The driver was then pronounced deceased at the scene. Warren Fire Personnel found a handgun that was recently reported stolen in a neighboring City on the front floorboard of the Chevy during the rescue operation. No other motorists were injured.
Commissioner Dwyer stated that, “like every police pursuit, this pursuit was closely monitored in real time by patrol supervisors. Traffic was light and the speeds were moderate throughout the entire pursuit which lasted approximately 3 minutes in length. Thankfully, no officers or other motorists were injured during this incident. We are aware of one handgun being located in the vehicle at this point in the investigation. I know that our investigators will be examining the driver’s background to gather more insight into this situation. This driver is dead due to the choice he made to flee from officers. Fleeing the police unfortunately cost this driver his life.”

The Atlanta Police Department released dashcam, body cam of a pursuit of a Felon With 37 Previous Arrest who shot fired at a gas station.
On December 20, 2023, around 12:15 PM, Atlanta Police responded to reports of gunfire at 3843 Jonesboro Rd. SE. Witnesses at the scene recounted that a male in a gray Jeep Cherokee stopped in front of the location, discharged shots towards the building, and promptly fled the scene. Fortunately, despite several people being nearby when the shots were fired, only property damage was reported.
While officers and investigators processed the crime scene, the suspect's vehicle was spotted returning to the area. Authorities issued a lookout, and nearby ACE Units caught up with the suspect attempting to conduct a traffic stop at 3907 Jonesboro Rd. The driver refused to comply and, after releasing a passenger from the vehicle, engaged the police in a high-speed pursuit that ended near 2000 Lakewood Ave. The driver deliberately swerved in front of an officer, resulting in a collision and effectively performing a PIT maneuver on his own vehicle.
Upon approaching the vehicle, officers noticed three young children inside along with the suspect. The children were moved to a safe location to receive treatment for minor injuries while officers worked to extract the driver from the vehicle. The driver, identified as William Burris (born 1984), was apprehended. Burris, a convicted felon with 37 previous arrest cycles, had a firearm recovered from the passenger area of the vehicle.
Subsequently, Burris faced multiple charges, including fleeing and eluding, driving with a suspended license, possession of marijuana and a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (two counts), possession of a firearm during the commission of certain felonies, three counts of kidnapping, three counts of 1st-degree cruelty to children, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, 2nd-degree criminal damage to property, and failure to report striking a fixed object.

Officer Involved Shooting Suspect Won't Drop the Gun. Louisville Metro Police Department Dec 8, 2023
Louisville Metro Police Department released new body camera footage detailing a police shooting that occurred on On December 8 near Churchill Downs involving Marvin Smith, aged 28, who was shot by Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) officer Sgt. Joshua Arnwine after he failed to comply with orders to drop his weapon following a traffic stop evasion.
The investigation commenced around the BP lot situated at 7th Street Road and Berry Boulevard, where detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division were conducting surveillance. They were targeting a known suspect reportedly seen entering and exiting the store with a handgun, suspected of involvement in drug sales. However, it wasn't confirmed if this suspect was Marvin Smith.
Subsequently, a traffic stop was initiated near S. 4th Street and Central Avenue, close to Wagner's, around 9:15 p.m., involving Smith as the passenger of the vehicle. Smith emerged from the vehicle holding a pistol with an extended magazine and fled the traffic stop. He initially ran southbound on 4th St. and then proceeded eastbound adjacent to Wagner's.
Sgt. Joshua Arnwine repeatedly instructed Smith to drop his gun, issuing the command over 15 times, which Smith consistently disregarded.
Officers fired at Smith after which he stumbled and fell. Despite being urged to surrender and not retrieve the weapon, Smith picked up his gun and aimed it in the direction of officers. The bodycam footage indicated that Smith's pistol had a "weapon-mounted light," providing a clear indication of the pistol's direction.
The incident solely involved Sgt. Arnwine, as evident from the bodycam footage capturing his interaction with Smith and subsequent firing of his weapon.
Following the shooting, Smith rose to flee, leaving his weapon behind, but officers apprehended him a short distance away. Immediate life-saving aid was administered, and Smith was rushed to UofL Hospital, where he is reportedly in good condition.
Smith faces multiple charges, including wanton endangerment of an officer, receiving stolen property of a firearm, traffic and controlled substances (meth, cocaine, and fentanyl), elevated due to the firearm, and first-degree fleeing and evading. He had previous charges related to drug trafficking, including fentanyl, cocaine, opioids, meth, and marijuana.

Suspect Attemp to Grab Officer's Gun Before Being Fatally Shot - Reno Police Department Dec. 6, 2023
#officerinvolvedshooting #policeshooting #RenoPoliceDepartment
The Reno Police Department has released critical footage, including body camera recordings, dash cam videos, and 911 calls, concerning a fatal shooting incident that occurred on Colorado River Blvd. earlier this month, specifically on December 6th, 2023.
Officers initially responded to reports of a woman allegedly being strangled by a man and heard screaming around 10:45 a.m. on December 6th.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers encountered 34-year-old Caleb Briggs inside a residence. The footage depicts officers attempting to communicate with Briggs. However, at a certain point, Briggs reportedly charged at one of the officers, resulting in the officer firing their weapon, ultimately leading to Briggs being shot.
Tragically, Briggs succumbed to his injuries at Renown Regional Medical Center.
Following the incident, the officer involved was placed on administrative leave pending an ongoing investigation.
The Sparks Police Department has been designated to spearhead the investigation into this incident.
I found another incident report of Caleb Riggs from 2019:
Washoe County Sheriff's deputies apprehended a man on multiple charges following an incident where he allegedly threatened deputies while they responded to a disturbance call at a Sun Valley residence.
Responding on the evening of January 21, 2019, deputies encountered 29-year-old Caleb Briggs, who reportedly issued threats towards them upon their arrival. Although he wasn't holding a weapon, deputies noted the presence of weapons within the residence and Briggs's indication of intending to use them against the deputies.
Subsequently, deputies managed to restrain Briggs and took him into custody. He faces charges including four counts of assault against the protected persons (the deputies), three counts of child abuse or neglect, domestic battery, and harassment. Additionally, Briggs is accused of making a gesture at the deputies, resulting in a charge of open and gross lewdness, along with one count of public or indecent exposure. Bail has been set at $3,000 for one of the charges, while no bail has been established for the remaining charges.
The Sheriff's Office reported that no individuals in the home sustained any injuries during the incident.

Body Cam: Payton Lawrence Fatal Shooting by Mesquite Police Department. December 14, 2023.
Please Like and Subscribe!
The Mesquite Police Department released body camera, surveillance videos of an officer-involved shooting that occurred on December 14th, 2023, around 2:57 a.m.
A Mesquite police officer, conducting routine patrol in the vicinity of Cartright Road and Edwards Church Road, observed a silver Hyundai sedan being followed by a Chrysler sedan. Both vehicles turned onto Cartright Road just as the officer approached the intersection.
Continuing westbound on Cartright Road, the officer witnessed both vehicles entering the 7-Eleven parking lot near Faithon P Lucas Blvd.
Shortly thereafter, at approximately 2:59 a.m., a caller contacted Mesquite Police Department dispatch, reporting the theft of their silver Hyundai sedan from the area near Clay Mathis Drive and Edwards Church Road.
Surveillance footage retrieved afterward revealed a dark-colored Chrysler sedan dropping off a suspect, who approached the Hyundai with a flashlight. Subsequently, both vehicles departed the area together.
CCTV footage from the 7-Eleven depicted both the Hyundai and Chrysler parked at gas pumps. The driver of the stolen Hyundai interacted with the Chrysler's occupants multiple times.
Returning to the scene after receiving the stolen vehicle report, the officer observed both vehicles still parked at the gas station. Finding the stolen vehicle unoccupied, the officer approached the Chrysler to engage with its occupants.
As the front passenger and the suspect from the stolen Hyundai exited the store and walked toward the Chrysler, the officer commanded them to get on the ground. The front passenger fled on foot, followed by the stolen vehicle's suspect who complied.
While providing suspect descriptions to dispatch, the officer commanded the Chrysler's driver not to move. However, the driver reversed the vehicle, and despite repeated commands to stop and turn off the vehicle, proceeded to maneuver away from the pump. Eventually, the vehicle began moving forward, prompting the officer to fire three rounds, striking the driver.
Subsequently, the officer detained three occupants from the backseat of the Chrysler.
Life-saving measures were attempted on the driver, who was pronounced deceased by Mesquite Fire Department paramedics.
Firearms were discovered in various locations within the vehicle: a 45 caliber Llama handgun with two rounds in the front driver-side floorboard, a 7.62 Mini Draco with 23 rounds in the front passenger floorboard, a .40 caliber AR pistol with five rounds in the rear passenger-side floorboard, and a 45 caliber Springfield XDS with two rounds in the rear passenger side floorboard.
The driver of the Chrysler sedan was identified as Payton Lawrence, a 19-year-old male from Mesquite, with an outstanding warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Of the three occupants detained from the Chrysler's backseat, two were questioned and released, while the third was arrested due to outstanding warrants.
Despite search efforts involving DPS 101 helicopter and Mesquite Police K9 units, the two fleeing suspects were not found.
The officer involved in the shooting is a 17-year veteran of the Mesquite Police Department and discharged three rounds from a Glock 9mm handgun.
The Mesquite Police Department will continue its investigation into the incident.

Sergeant Valle discharged his duty weapon during the incident and has been an HPD officer since April 2007, serving in the Midwest Patrol Division.
HPD's Special Investigations Unit, including Sergeant E. Wohlgemuth and Detectives D. Escobar, C. Walker, and N. Barnes, provided details of the incident:
Officers from the Midwest Patrol Division's Crime Suppression Team were conducting an investigation at the specified address. During the course of their investigation, officers located the suspect, temporarily losing sight of him at one point. As Sergeant Valle searched behind a building at the location, the suspect fired multiple shots into the sergeant’s vehicle, striking him several times. Despite the injuries, the sergeant managed to exit his vehicle and return fire toward the suspect.
Following the exchange, the suspect fled the scene but was later discovered near the corner of a building, having sustained gunshot wounds. Officers administered first aid to both the suspect and the injured sergeant. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the suspect deceased at the scene and transported Sergeant Valle to the hospital, where he is currently in stable condition.
Update: Sgt. Mauricio Valle who has 17 years of experience with the Houston Police Department released from hospital 4 days after being shot.
A statement from Police Chief Troy Finner on the Houston Facebook page wrote:
“I'm thrilled to announce that Sergeant Mauricio Valle was discharged from the hospital today.
A big thank you to the amazing staff at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center and the people of Houston for their prayers and ongoing support.
Sergeant Valle is in good spirits as he recovers. He is eager to return to protecting and serving the citizens of our great city.”

Police Sergeant Shot Point Blank In The Head. San Diego Police Police Department. Dec. 7-2023
Please Like and Subscribe!
The San Diego Police Department has made public the bodycam footage related to an Officer-Involved Fatal shooting in 4S Ranch in early December, wherein a police sergeant was shot in the head.
Responding to reports of a stolen vehicle at a 4S Ranch shopping center on December 7, around 11:30 p.m., officers arrived at the scene. A 911 call alerted authorities, stating that the victim's car had been stolen and was suspected to be driven by Curtis Harris, aged 46, who also had an outstanding Emergency Protection Order linked to a previous domestic violence incident.
Upon discovering the vehicle, officers found a woman asleep in the passenger seat and proceeded into the store to search for Harris.
As officers approached Harris, bodycam footage captured him fleeing the store and then drawing his gun, firing at San Diego Police Sergeant Anthony Elliott at close range, striking him in the head. Subsequently, Harris aimed his gun at other officers, prompting them to discharge their firearms, hitting Harris multiple times.
The footage also revealed officers discovering Sergeant Anthony Elliott in the shopping cart area with a gunshot wound to the head. They administered medical assistance until San Diego paramedics arrived. Elliott was transported to the hospital in critical condition but was reportedly conscious and speaking during transit, according to SDPD reports.
Officers successfully secured Harris's firearm using a ballistic shield. While receiving medical attention, Harris was restrained in handcuffs. He passed away at the hospital later that night. At the scene, officers recovered the loaded gun along with a second loaded magazine.
The other officers involved were identified as Officer Tanarat Crowe (with 1 year of service), Officer Darrion Talalele (10 months), and Officer Trevor Wright (1.5 years), all serving in the Northwestern Division.

Florida Man: Call the president he's gonna pardon me for this. Volusia Sheriff’s Office Dec. 20-2023
#officerinvolvedshooting #policeshooting #VolusiaSheriffsOffice
Deltona, Florida --- The Volusia Sheriff's Office has released footage, including body cameras, drone recordings, and a 911 call, detailing an incident that occurred on December 20, 2023. An armed shoplifting suspect, who initially fled from deputies and subsequently engaged in gunfire, inciting a prolonged standoff in Deltona, was safely taken into custody.
During the confrontation, one deputy sustained a grazing wound from the suspect's bullet, fortunately avoiding life-threatening injury. Additionally, another bullet struck a sergeant's ballistic shield, preventing further harm.
The incident began when deputies were called to the Wawa at 3400 Howland Blvd. following an employee's report around 4:30 a.m. of a regular customer shoplifting cigarettes by reaching over the counter. The suspect was reported to have a knife on his hip but did not brandish a gun.
As deputies arrived, the suspect drove toward one officer and attempted to evade another deputy who initiated a traffic stop. To halt the fleeing vehicle, a deputy deployed stop sticks, which deflated the driver’s side tires. Despite this, the suspect, identified as Dempsey Hadley (DOB 3/1/1967), continued driving at a reduced speed to his residence at 3230 Whitehorse Court.
Deputies performed a felony stop on the vehicle, but Hadley refused to comply with their commands and exit the vehicle. When deputies approached to remove him from the vehicle, Hadley opened fire.
Retreating for safety, deputies observed Hadley remaining inside the vehicle, adamantly refusing to exit. He was observed setting fires within the truck's cab.
Efforts were made to secure the safety of Hadley's son and a dog from his residence. Various resources were deployed, including negotiators, SWAT teams, K-9 units, drones, Air One, and Fire/EMS units staged nearby.
Using the VSO Bearcat vehicle, SWAT repositioned Hadley's truck, blocking any escape routes and pushing it into the garage. Hadley then exited the truck and entered the attic. Shortly after, visible smoke and subsequent flames engulfed the upper floors of the house.
Despite ongoing negotiations, Hadley persisted in his refusal to surrender. He emerged onto a second-floor balcony, prompting SWAT to utilize the VSO Rook and later a Bearcat boom to dismantle the balcony and safely bring Hadley to the ground, away from the burning residence.
After being apprehended on the ground, Hadley received on-scene treatment for his injuries before being transported to a local hospital. He faces charges including three counts of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer, fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, and petit retail theft.

Female Officer Screw up in Police Fatal shooting. Morris Police Department Sept. 29
Alivia Schwab, 40, of Morris is shot three times after she held a 9-inch-long chef's kitchen and kept walking toward Morris Police Officer Nick Pampinella, disobeying his commands to drop her knife. (Body camera footage from Morris Police Officer Nick Pampinella )
MORRIS, IL — Less than one month after Grundy County State's Attorney Russell Baker issued a three-page report finding that Morris Police Officer Nick Pampinella was justified in his use of deadly force, authorities have released all the body-camera videos surrounding Pampinella's deadly encounter with 40-year-old Morris resident Alivia Schwab on Sept. 29.
The two officers at the center of the deadly confrontation that ended Schwab's life were Pampinella, who has been a Morris police officer for over three years, and fellow officer Casie Price, who has been a Morris police officer since the spring of 2022.
Morris police have said their officers were called to the 1800 block of Anne Lane just before 11 a.m. for a report of a suicidal person.

According to the body camera videos that the Morris Police Department released late Friday afternoon, Pampinella can be heard taking charge of the incident. Even though he told officer Price to prepare to deploy her Taser at the 40-year-old Morris woman, Price does not do so as Schwab continues to slowly walk from her apartment, past the sidewalk and into the paved parking lot, toward Officer Pampinella, who is backpedaling and ordering Schwab to drop her 9-inch-long chef's knife. Instead, Schwab keeps walking closer to him, gripping the knife tightly in her left hand as she remained on the phone with a crisis hotline.
You can watch the entire video, from Pampinella's body camera vantage point, at the bottom of this article.
At the 1:28 mark, Pampinella sees Schwab emerge from her apartment, on the phone and with the knife in her hand. Shortly after their arrival, Pampinella advises Officer Price "you go non-lethal."
Meanwhile, Schwab keeps slowly walking at him and does not say anything.
"Hi, miss. Miss, drop the knife, drop the knife," Pampinella commands. "Drop, stop coming towards me! Stop coming towards me!"

At the 1:37 mark, Pampinella yells, "Stop where you are, miss. Stop where you are!
"Drop the knife!" Pampinella screams. "Drop the knife. Drop the knife, miss.
"Stop it, stop it, or you're going to get shot."
At 1:43, Pampinella tells Officer Price to deploy her Taser.
"Casie, tase her," he yells.
As Officer Price continues to stand there, she does not deploy her Taser.

At 1:47, as Schwab continues to encroach upon him, Pampinella opens fire, shooting Schwab in the head and firing a total of four rounds.
Schwab suffered three gunshot wounds.
About a minute later, as other Morris police arrive on the scene, Pampinella tells one of them, "She started running at me with a f****** knife, man."
According to his LinkedIn profile, Pampinella is the K-9 officer for Morris police, a 2019 graduate of Western Illinois University. He also worked for eight months in 2019-2010 at Rantoul's Police Department before joining the Morris police force in March 2020.
After college, he also served as an intern at the Sandwich Police Department. Pampinella also grew up and graduated from high school in nearby Dwight. Grundy County's news radio station did a feature story on him when Pampinella joined the Morris police nearly four years ago.
"With regard to the events of September 29, 2023, I have reviewed the evidence gathered in the preliminary investigation conducted by the Illinois State Police and am prepared to release a preliminary opinion that Alivia L. Schwab was in a psychotic suicidal state of mind while armed with a 9-inch chef's knife and aggressively attacked police ignoring all commands to stop and drop the weapon," Grundy County State's Attorney Baker declared in his report issued in November.
Grundy State’s Attorney Russ Baker retired in December 2019 from the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office after over 30 years of service prosecuting every type of violent felony, with a
