Trudeau Towns are taking over Canadian cities
You can now find them in every major city across the country. What was once a rare site is now a common feature across Canada – sprawling tent cities or as Canadians are calling them, “Trudeau towns.” The title seems quite fitting seeing as how the policies of the Trudeau government have brought so much destruction to Canadians’ livelihoods.
All throughout Canada, people are struggling. A spiralling cost of living crisis fuelled by record levels of mass immigration are driving people to live in tents. Plus, thanks to “safe supply” drug policies, it is easier now to get addicted and the government is opening up MAID to struggling Canadians as well.
Chalk it up as another legacy item of the Trudeau government. Sprawling Trudeau Towns in every major city.

They’re MUTILATING children in the name of progress
Nearly half of Canadians support banning sex change operations and life-altering hormone treatments like puberty blockers for children, according to a recent poll. However, after hearing what a Canadian surgeon recently said about these radical procedures, many more Canadians will want to support a ban on these "surgeries".
Dr. Alex Laungani, a clinician at Canada’s Metropolitan Center Of Surgery, told his colleagues at the World Professional Association for Transgender Health that the trans medical industry has grown too quickly and that there could be “a lack of training and not proper training.” He also highlighted the “pretty bad” consequences of genital surgeries.
It’s no wonder Conservative politicians, like Danielle Smith and Pierre Poilievre, are now speaking out in favour of protecting the children.

Trudeau could balance the budget – so why doesn’t he?
Since 2015, Canada’s federal government has faced deteriorating fiscal conditions with successive large deficits and increasing debt, but proposals suggest that significant spending reforms similar to those of the 1990s could lead to a balanced budget within one or two years starting from 2024/25. Fraser Institute fiscal studies director Jake Fuss joined True North’s Andrew Lawton to discuss.

Does anti-racism training make people more racist?
According to a new report, studies indicate that DEI training tends to reinforce existing biases rather than eliminate them, and its effectiveness in fostering inclusivity remains uncertain. Prof. David Millard Haskell of the Aristotle Foundation joined True North’s Andrew Lawton to discuss the potential pitfalls and alternative approaches to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in organizations.

Feds wasted millions on ArriveCan app
Earlier this week, an Auditor General report revealed millions of dollars had been wasted in the contracting, development, and implementation of the ArriveCan app, citing a ‘glaring disregard’ for basic management practices. Macdonald-Laurier Institute domestic policy director Aaron Wudrick joined True North’s Andrew Lawton to discuss the implications of such mismanagement and the need for greater accountability in government spending.

Poilievre and the legacy media clash – again!
It’s Friday – kick back, grab a drink and tune into the Off the Record with Andrew Lawton, Harrison Faulkner and Sue-Ann Levy!
Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre once again demonstrated that he isn’t afraid to confront the legacy media. This week, Poilievre and a Canadian Press reporter exchanged words government media handouts, as the Conservative leader accused legacy media outlets of repeating “PMO talking points rather than delivering real news to the Canadian people.”
Plus, the tolerant left shows their true colours in BC as protesters clashed over a drug injection site in Richmond. According to protesters in favour of the drug injection site, immigrants that don’t want junkies shooting up in their neighbourhood should go back where they came from.
And another church arson took place in Regina but Canada’s politicians don’t seem to care.

Justin Trudeau SUED for freezing bank accounts during Freedom Convoy!
To mark the two-year anniversary of the invocation of the Emergencies Act, Freedom Convoy organizers and protesters who had their bank accounts unlawfully frozen by the government have served Justin Trudeau and Chrystia Freeland with lawsuits. Tamara Lich and other Convoy organizers are seeking $2 million in damages each from the government after a judge ruled Trudeau’s emergency measures in 2022 to be unconstitutional.
In addition, an another lawsuit on behalf of other protesters who had their accounts frozen was served against Trudeau and Freeland, other cabinet ministers and the RCMP on the same day.
Violating the constitution, it turns out, comes with consequences.

Mandatory DEI training makes things worse
Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) training has become the norm in corporations, the public sector, and academia in an attempt to cleanse institutions of systemic racism and purge people's biases. While the goal may be noble at its core, there is no proof these programs work. In fact, they actually make things worse, according to a new research report from Prof. David Millard Haskell of the Aristotle Foundation. He joins True North's Andrew Lawton to discuss.
Also, British Columbia is doubling down on its "safe" drug supply programs despite a growing amount of evidence it is harmful. National Post writer Adam Zivo weighs in.
Plus, Canada's finances may be in a terrible place, but a new study from the Fraser Institute lays out a roadmap to a balanced budget by as soon as 2027 if a serious course correction takes place. The think tank's director of fiscal studies, Jake Fuss, returns to the show to explain how.

Steven Guilbeault says the federal government will no longer fund roads
Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault says the federal government will no longer fund municipal road projects, because building roads encourages people to use cars. He said the money should instead be spent on fighting climate change. The announcement was condemned by Ontario Premier Doug Ford, who said he was "gobsmacked" by it. True North's Andrew Lawton weighs in.
Also, it's the two year anniversary of Justin Trudeau's invocation of the Emergencies Act, which he still defends despite the Federal Court finding it unconstitutional Freedom Convoy organizer Tom Marazzo joins to discuss.
Plus, a new study from the Aristotle Foundation, authored by Laurier University professor David Millard Haskell finds no evidence in support of diversity, equity and inclusion policies. In fact, sometimes they have adverse effects on diversity. Haskell discusses his findings with Andrew.

China's deadly drug war on Canada
Fentanyl has killed tens of thousands Canadians. Every day, an average of 22 Canadians dies due to a toxic drug overdose and in British Columbia, opioid overdose is now the leading cause of death among youth aged 10 to 18. Fentanyl is made with precursor chemicals that flow through Canada's borders originating from China. Organized Chinese gangs have been in the middle of this drug trade, ripping apart a generation of young Canadians.
On this episode of The Faulkner Show, Harrison is joined by Garry Clement, the former National Director of the RCMP's Proceeds of Crime division. Clement argues that China is waging a drug war on Canada and that the government needs to be doing more to target organized Chinese gangs who have the backing of the CCP from entering into and operating inside Canada.

Here’s how the legacy media is misleading you
The radical left and the legacy media lost their collective minds over Alberta Premier Danielle Smith’s gender policies, which aim to prevent minors from undergoing irreversible treatments to change their gender. Since Smith unveiled her policies, the legacy media has attempted to mislead Canadians about what the policies actually are.
On this episode of The Candice Malcolm Show, Candice examines a CTV News clip about how trans activists are protesting Smith’s policies and she explains exactly how the media is trying to mislead Canadians about this important issue.

Less than four in 10 Canadians trust the media – surprised?
New data from Statistics Canada show that just 37 per cent of Canadians trust the media. While it's more than the number that trust federal politicians (28 per cent), journalists have a lower trust score than the school system, the justice system, and police. An exchange yesterday between Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre and a Canadian Press reporter may reveal why this is, True North's Andrew Lawton says.
Also, anti-Israel protesters have descended on Toronto's Jewish Mount Sinai hospital where they blocked access and in one case scaled the building to fly a Palestinian flag. Yet the politicians who condemned protests at hospitals during the pandemic have been silent.
Meanwhile, a Liberal-appointed senator has apologized for saying that Canada should do security checks on anyone coming from Gaza.
Plus, NDP MP Charlie Angus' proposed private member's bill would ban promoting how oil and gas development can be good for Indigenous communities. First Nations LNG Alliance CEO Karen Ogen-Toews joins The Andrew Lawton Show to discuss.

Another church arson attack in Canada
On Friday an arsonist set fire to the Blessed Sacrament Parish Catholic church in Regina, Saskatchewan. The 118-year-old historic church became the 97th church in Canada to be attacked since the false claims of bodies in mass graves at the sites of former Indian Residential Schools began circulating throughout Canada's mainstream media in 2021. Thankfully the church was saved by first responders but the entire attack was caught on video and posted to social media.
The federal government it appears doesn't want anything to do with this story. Despite close to 100 churches being attacked in Canada, the government have refused to open a formal inquiry.
Do you think the response would be the same if 97 mosques or synogogues had been attacked in this way?
To make matters worse, the CBC couldn't bring themselves to even write a story about the latest attack in Saskatchewan over the weekend. Justifying the church burnings seems to be more of a priority for the state-broadcaster.

Auditor General blasts ArriveCan waste and mismanagement
Auditor General Karen Hogan has taken aim at the government's multimillion-dollar boondoggle that is the ArriveCan app. Hogan's report found that Canada's paid too much, the public service didn't ensure value for money, and the whole thing lacked even basic management and due diligence. True North's Andrew Lawton asks whether anyone is surprised. Aaron Wudrick of the Macdonald-Laurier Institute joins to discuss.
Also, Health Canada officials floated a ban on smoking in private homes as an acceptable tobacco control measure ahead of a global World Health Organization summit.
Justin Trudeau has been so far silent on the attempted arson of a Regina Catholic church on the weekend. He can't condemn vandalism and threats against other religious institutions quickly enough, but never wants to wade into assaults on Christians.
Plus, while CBC was complaining about budget woes, it was sending executives on high-flying foreign junkets. Kris Sims from the Canadian Taxpayers Federation returns to weigh in.
