The bill reintroduces a section of the Canadian Human Rights Act prohibiting online "hate speech," which the bill defines as speech "likely to foment detestation or vilification of an individual or group of individuals on the basis of a prohibited ground of discrimination." Trudeau and his justice minister claim the bill will comply with the Charter, but their record on civil liberties and free speech should concern all Canadians. The Trudeau government has unveiled new legislation to crack down on so-called “hate speech.” Of course the government isn’t specifying what “hate speech” is but it’s clear what Justin Trudeau’s intentions are – he’s cracking down speech he hates. This is what leftist authoritarianism looks like. Bill C-63, which is being presented by the government under the guise of “protecting children,” enables people to file complaints against others for posting “hate speech” and empowers the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal to order payments of up to $70,000. Instead of sounding the alarm on Trudeau’s latest attack on free speech, unsurprisingly, the legacy media is celebrating this power grab. Plus, the only area of healthcare where access seems to be expanding is assisted suicide, or MAID. Dr. Ramona Coelho joins to discuss.

Nearly half of Canadians support banning sex change operations and life-altering hormone treatments like puberty blockers for children, according to a recent poll. However, after hearing what a Canadian surgeon recently said about these radical procedures, many more Canadians will want to support a ban on these "surgeries". Dr. Alex Laungani, a clinician at Canada’s Metropolitan Center Of Surgery, told his colleagues at the World Professional Association for Transgender Health that the trans medical industry has grown too quickly and that there could be “a lack of training and not proper training.” He also highlighted the “pretty bad” consequences of genital surgeries. Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) training has become the norm in corporations, the public sector, and academia in an attempt to cleanse institutions of systemic racism and purge people's biases. While the goal may be noble at its core, there is no proof these programs work. In fact, they actually make things worse, according to a new research report from Prof. David Millard Haskell of the Aristotle Foundation. He joins True North's Andrew Lawton to discuss. Fentanyl has killed tens of thousands Canadians. Every day, an average of 22 Canadians dies due to a toxic drug overdose and in British Columbia, opioid overdose is now the leading cause of death among youth aged 10 to 18. Fentanyl is made with precursor chemicals that flow through Canada's borders originating from China. Organized Chinese gangs have been in the middle of this drug trade, ripping apart a generation of young Canadians. New data from Statistics Canada show that just 37 per cent of Canadians trust the media. While it's more than the number that trust federal politicians (28 per cent), journalists have a lower trust score than the school system, the justice system, and police.
