China's deadly drug war on Canada
Fentanyl has killed tens of thousands Canadians. Every day, an average of 22 Canadians dies due to a toxic drug overdose and in British Columbia, opioid overdose is now the leading cause of death among youth aged 10 to 18. Fentanyl is made with precursor chemicals that flow through Canada's borders originating from China. Organized Chinese gangs have been in the middle of this drug trade, ripping apart a generation of young Canadians.
On this episode of The Faulkner Show, Harrison is joined by Garry Clement, the former National Director of the RCMP's Proceeds of Crime division. Clement argues that China is waging a drug war on Canada and that the government needs to be doing more to target organized Chinese gangs who have the backing of the CCP from entering into and operating inside Canada.

Here’s how the legacy media is misleading you
The radical left and the legacy media lost their collective minds over Alberta Premier Danielle Smith’s gender policies, which aim to prevent minors from undergoing irreversible treatments to change their gender. Since Smith unveiled her policies, the legacy media has attempted to mislead Canadians about what the policies actually are.
On this episode of The Candice Malcolm Show, Candice examines a CTV News clip about how trans activists are protesting Smith’s policies and she explains exactly how the media is trying to mislead Canadians about this important issue.
Tune into The Candice Malcolm Show.

Less than four in 10 Canadians trust the media – surprised?
New data from Statistics Canada show that just 37 per cent of Canadians trust the media. While it's more than the number that trust federal politicians (28 per cent), journalists have a lower trust score than the school system, the justice system, and police. An exchange yesterday between Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre and a Canadian Press reporter may reveal why this is, True North's Andrew Lawton says.
Also, anti-Israel protesters have descended on Toronto's Jewish Mount Sinai hospital where they blocked access and in one case scaled the building to fly a Palestinian flag. Yet the politicians who condemned protests at hospitals during the pandemic have been silent.
Meanwhile, a Liberal-appointed senator has apologized for saying that Canada should do security checks on anyone coming from Gaza.
Plus, NDP MP Charlie Angus' proposed private member's bill would ban promoting how oil and gas development can be good for Indigenous communities. First Nations LNG Alliance CEO Karen Ogen-Toews joins The Andrew Lawton Show to discuss.

Another church arson attack in Canada
On Friday an arsonist set fire to the Blessed Sacrament Parish Catholic church in Regina, Saskatchewan. The 118-year-old historic church became the 97th church in Canada to be attacked since the false claims of bodies in mass graves at the sites of former Indian Residential Schools began circulating throughout Canada's mainstream media in 2021. Thankfully the church was saved by first responders but the entire attack was caught on video and posted to social media.
The federal government it appears doesn't want anything to do with this story. Despite close to 100 churches being attacked in Canada, the government have refused to open a formal inquiry.
Do you think the response would be the same if 97 mosques or synogogues had been attacked in this way?
To make matters worse, the CBC couldn't bring themselves to even write a story about the latest attack in Saskatchewan over the weekend. Justifying the church burnings seems to be more of a priority for the state-broadcaster.

Auditor General blasts ArriveCan waste and mismanagement
Auditor General Karen Hogan has taken aim at the government's multimillion-dollar boondoggle that is the ArriveCan app. Hogan's report found that Canada's paid too much, the public service didn't ensure value for money, and the whole thing lacked even basic management and due diligence. True North's Andrew Lawton asks whether anyone is surprised. Aaron Wudrick of the Macdonald-Laurier Institute joins to discuss.
Also, Health Canada officials floated a ban on smoking in private homes as an acceptable tobacco control measure ahead of a global World Health Organization summit.
Justin Trudeau has been so far silent on the attempted arson of a Regina Catholic church on the weekend. He can't condemn vandalism and threats against other religious institutions quickly enough, but never wants to wade into assaults on Christians.
Plus, while CBC was complaining about budget woes, it was sending executives on high-flying foreign junkets. Kris Sims from the Canadian Taxpayers Federation returns to weigh in.

Make Canada Great Again?
It’s Friday – which means it’s time for another episode of Off the Record with Candice Malcolm, Andrew Lawton and Harrison Faulkner. Kick back, grab a drink and enjoy the show!
This week, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre of wanting to “Make Canada Great Again.” He said it like it was a bad thing – but with so many Canadians struggling right now, maybe that’s exactly what Poilievre is trying to do.
Plus, everybody seems to be upset with Loblaws this week in Ottawa as politicians accuse advisers and staff of being linked to the grocery chain. Forget the fact that taxes and inflation are driving up the cost of food production – it’s all “corporate greed” to the folks in Ottawa.
And NDP MP Charlie Angus wants to jail people who promote the oil and gas sector. Yes, you read that right.
Tune into Off the Record!

Danielle Smith on transgender policies, Alberta energy, and Justin Trudeau
Despite facing pushback from left-leaning critics, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith has stood firm in her support for a ban on gender reassignment surgeries and hormone therapies for minors. In an exclusive interview, True North’s Andrew Lawton delved into the nuances of these policies with Smith, also examining the overall dynamic between Alberta and the federal government.

Trudeau spending HUNDREDS of MILLIONS to house homeless migrants
The federal government is now spending hundreds of millions of dollars to house asylum seekers and migrants entering Canada at record levels. The Trudeau government has already been doing this for years and using your money to house migrants in hotel rooms. But the government has no plans to curb their entry into Canada and enforce our immigration laws.
The first responsibility of a government is to look out for the needs of their own people, not asylum seekers from other countries. Canadians are continuing to struggle just to make ends meet. Home ownership is out of sight for most in this country and just paying for food is a struggle for many. So instead of burning your money on housing asylum seekers and migrants, why don’t they put a stop to this?

NDP MP wants to jail people for promoting oil and gas
New Democrat member of Parliament Charlie Angus has tabled a bill that could throw people who promote oil and gas in Canada into jail for up to two years. He said advertising from the energy sector should be treated like tobacco advertising because of the climate crisis. True North's Andrew Lawton weighs in and discusses with Michael Binnion of the Modern Miracle Network.
Also, Justin Trudeau says Pierre Poilievre wants to "make Canada great again." He meant it as an insult, but polling suggests he might be right.
Plus, the final instalment of our Unjust Transition series, featuring Bryan Gould of Aspenleaf Energy.

Canada will find itself in the middle of new and extremely powerful global trade routes. More consequentially, Canada's enemies are rapidly building up Arctic defence and military capabilities creating an Arctic arms race with the power to turn Canada's backyard into an arena of war.
On this episode of The Faulkner Show, Harrison is joined by one of Canada's leading Arctic defence experts, professor Robert Huebert.

What Albertans really think of Smith's gender policies
This week on the Alberta Roundup with Rachel Emmanuel, Rachel takes to the streets to hear what Albertans really think about Premier Smith’s new transgender policies.
Some Albertans say the Premier was right to protect children, while others say the decision should be left up to parents. There seems to be agreement that women’s sports need to be protected.

Poilievre (finally) gets it right on the trans issue
The left, the Libs and the media are all pushing propaganda and lies about Alberta Premier Danielle Smith’s new policies to protect children. They won’t even describe the policies. They just use vague euphemisms like “trans rights” and “access to healthcare” to describe the issue because they know that if they describe the gruesome details of their preferred policies, they will lose the audience.
While Danielle Smith brilliantly stick--handled the issue – exposing the extreme bias of the media and plainly explaining the rationale behind her common-sense position – the Conservative Party of Canada initially remained silent.
Pierre Poilievre finally broke his silence this week and took a firm stance.
He rightly pointed out how and why the media are lying about this issue – to cover for their man Justin Trudeau.
Danielle Smith should be commended for her courage and for holding her ground on this important issue. Thanks to her bold leadership, the federal conservatives eventually stepped up and did the right thing.

Danielle Smith stands by gender policies despite protests
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is standing by her proposed ban on gender reassignment treatments and hormone therapies for minors despite criticism from the left. Smith's events in Ottawa and Toronto were met with protests by trans rights activists. True North's Andrew Lawton discussed the policies and response to them in a sit-down interview with Smith, as well as the general tenor of Alberta's relationship with the federal government.
Also, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre has confirmed, after several days, that he supports the ban on puberty blockers for minors.
Plus, in today's edition of Unjust Transition, Andrew speaks to Secure Energy CEO Rene Amirault.

Turns out Trudeau sent an invitation to the Nazi veteran after all
After throwing former House of Commons speaker Anthony Rota under the bus for his decision to honour Ukrainian SS veteran Yaroslav Hunka in the House of Commons last September, news has emerged that Justin Trudeau invited Hunka to a Toronto reception that same week. True North's Andrew Lawton says Trudeau scapegoated Rota when he was just as culpable.
Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland has taken aim at foreign property ownership, despite the fact that she and her husband own multiple properties in four countries, including Canada.
Also, campus antisemitism is on the rise, as is antisemitism elsewhere. Andrew stopped in Davos to ask University College London provost Michael Spence to condemn it, but at first he didn't want to.
Plus, the latest episode of Unjust Transition features geoLOGIC Systems CEO David Hood.

The Canadian rental market is out of control!
On this episode of Ratio’d, Harrison Faulkner goes rent shopping! The affordable living situation facing Canadians is out of control thanks to mass immigration and rising inflation. As a result, the demand for low-cost affordable living in Canada has grown to such an extent that landlords are now renting out bunk beds, hallways and even bathrooms to desperate people looking for a place to live.
This situation was entirely preventable but instead of putting the interests of Canadians first, the government put the interests of large corporations and colleges who benefit from international students and cheap foreign labour above those of the nation.
Now we’re paying the price.

Establishment is against Danielle Smith’s gender policies – but parents aren’t
The left has been harshly critical of Alberta Premier Danielle Smith’s planned ban on cross-sex hormones and gender reassignment for minors, as well as her requirement of parental consent for gender changes at schools. But polling shows parents, even non-conservatives, across Canada are overwhelmingly in favour of such policies. Will common sense win out?
Also, True North’s Andrew Lawton checks in with Phelim McAleer, co-creator of the Climate Change on Trial podcast, for an update on climate scientist Michael Mann’s lawsuit against Mark Steyn as the trial enters its fourth week.
Canadian Taxpayers Federation Alberta director Kris Sims returns for her regular Monday drop-in to talk about the Liberals’ “carbon tax rebrand” and a brewing “Wing night mutiny.”
Plus, in today’s instalment of Unjust Transition, Andrew talks to the President of Liberty Energy, Ron Gusek.

Why environmentalists are wrong about coal
In the ongoing global discourse surrounding environmental conservation and sustainable energy, coal has often been vilified as a major contributor to climate change and environmental degradation. But is this really the case? In this latest instalment of the Unjust Transition series, Northback CEO Mike Young joins True North’s Andrew Lawton to explain why the narrative around coal may need a closer examination.

Trudeau's ‘just transition’ hurts Northern Canadians
As Ottawa continues its crusade against climate change, little regard has been given to the complexities and adverse impacts of a “just transition” in the context of Northern Canada. In this latest edition of Unjust Transition, Chance Oil and Gas president Richard Wyman joins True North’s Andrew Lawton to discuss the overlooked consequences associated with the ongoing shift in energy policies.

On C2C: Was the pandemic caused by science?
During the pandemic, the slogan “trust the science” became a deafening rallying cry, echoing across the media and public discourse. Despite this, the origins of Covid-19 are a subject of ongoing controversy, with suspicions surrounding the Wuhan Institute of Virology steadily increasing. A new essay from C2C Journal explores the idea that the very science championed during the pandemic may have played a role in its creation. C2C Journal contributor Margret Kopala joined True North’s Andrew Lawton to discuss. Read the full essay here: https://c2cjournal.ca/2024/01/a-pandemic-caused-by-science
