A commentary on a recent Francis Chan Interview Video 2023 that focuses on The Problem With Modern Preaching and American Christianity. American Christianity is the joke of the world I learned this while taking a mission class in seminary Missionary after and missionary stated this Often when Americans go on missions trips to help the pour Americans find out that they are impacted much more deeply then the impact they are having on the poor Francis Chan is one of those people i respect tremendously He started a mega church in California And one day after spending time with the lord decided to give it all up He handed over the keys to the church He sold everything he had and took his family to the mission field for several years Came back to the US and started a house church movement I myself go to a house church I've decided that normal church isn't for me I have been part of planting a church with a few members and watch it grow to a mega church Only to find myself looking for something more So Francis daughter lead him on a challenge to read the bible cover to cover in 30 days he did and came out deeply changed again He came out with deep revelation which is a timely word for the America church today Francis Chan sermon states that we do not sound like the prophets, Jesus and the Apostles. Barnum Some prophetic words these days are gimmicks Now we see adds all the time that you can loose weight and get in the best shape of your life if you only take this one pill It will require no effort on your part either You know its a gimmick Gimmicks are telling you that you can have something great with no effort required on your part We are co laborors with God God can move mountains but you must bring a shovel When the prophets of old use to come to town in generations past People would tremble They would be in fear (That is a healthy fear of God) I do not like the idea of Hollywood - pop - gummy bear prophecy But Sean Lighting Bolz just smells of Pop Christianity Neither hot nor cold And it attracts the world- And that a problem If someone is only giving positive prophetic words its a problem A close with a testimony of God giving me something of value that was spoken prophetically.
