This story is a real gem. One of the Greatest Stories in Church History. Why Thomas Aquinas Never Finished Summa Theologica? St. Thomas Aquinas is considered by many to be in the top 5 most influential people in church history . Thomas Aquinas penned close to 60 known works. The influence of his writing has been so great, in fact, that an estimated 6,000 commentaries on his work exist to date. His greatest work called Summa Theologica which is considered by many to be the largest and one of the most complete theological document ever written. It is "one of the classics of the history of philosophy and one of the most influential works of Western literature." 9 Years into working on this document he had a vision during mass on December 6th 1273. What exactly he saw is unknown. But he is quoted shortly after as saying "I can do no more. Such secrets have been revealed to me that all I have written now appears to be of little value, it seems to me as of so much straw ." Many commentators say He walked around the rest of his life in a stupor and barely spoke much. And Aquinas declared he would write no more Two years later Aquinas died and his most important life's work and one of the greatest theological documents would be left uncompleted. The third and final section of this document had to be completed by one of his closet friends Theological education is important. But one experience with God can Trump all that. Let us be people who seek after the face of God that makes the greatest theological works of man of little value. In this sermon clip i explore what if we tore out of the bible every book written by a murderer? You would have to remove a quarter of the Bible! Moses, Paul, David and Peter were violent men and even murderers. Yet God used these men to write large portions of the bible. It doesn't matter what you have done in your past. God can heal you and use you! In todays culture its easy to get canceled based on things you have done in the past. Yet God never cancels people unless they remain in their sin and will not repent. But if you repent all can be made new! Someone needed to hear this message today! As for me i did some pretty horrible things in the past when i was caught up living a sinful life. I was addicted to drug and alcohol. I was a violent and angry man. I could not get over what i had done until a counselor in rehab gave this the jail wardens bible. Looking for a great pro life videos youtube? Well you have come to the right video. I am going to do a teaching about what the Christian Church and the Bible says about abortion. Since roe v wade was overturned by the supreme court last week this has restarted the discussion on abortion in America. So this will also be a roe v wade reaction video as well. Or a pro life video. We live in a biblical illiterate society in which people no longer understand BASIC biblical truth. Even chirstians who have been saved many years. It is well document that the church is pro life. And the bible is pro life as well. A fetus in the womb is considered god handiwork and should be considered a baby which is shown in Luke chapter1. Taking the life of an unborn child is murder. The cases of pregencey through rape and incest are very rare and we should not build a theology around these cases. Only God has the right to give life or take it away- Not man The The real issue is that people want to have sex with whoever then want whenever they want. The real issues are rampant sexual immorality and fornication. There are so many methods of birth control in todays day and age that no one need to get pregnant if they do not want to. So there is clearly a common sense way out of this whole topic in the first place. The larger churches in America like Joel Osteen, TD Jakes, and Steven Furtik have been silent on the matter. It is time to start distancing ourselves from churches that are unwilling to face the hard topics. Tough times are coming for the church and we cannot be on a ice cream diet. No one wants to be spiritual fathers anymore because it is hard work. Pastors are too busy being entertainers to teach their flock the word of God. Lastly there is no commendation for those who have had abortions in the past. If you repent of your sins the bible says that God is faithful and he will forgive and cleanse you of all righteousness. These are found in the contemplative stream of Christianity. To find out more check Richard Foster's book "Streams of Living Waters. Yet in Evangelical and Charismatic churches you almost never see these spiritual disciplines practiced. It is part of the reason our Christian cultures are so swallow. We saw the biggest non denominational church in Hillsong crumble in front of our eyes. Because of modern Christian cultures are not working and we need new solutions. Recently i posted a video from a missionary to Muslim countries who was explaining how far American - Westernized Christianity is off its original intent. Then my pastor hit me with a real message from the Holy Spirit yesterday that i want to pass down to you guys. Jesus called us to stop what we are doing and follow him. Do not be a regular phew warming Christian but follow Jesus. Often we think discipleship is doing life side by side with people. But that is often in vein if people are not following Jesus. Jesus asked his disciples to follow him and they dropped their nets and follow him. This is a very basic idea but if followed it can produce revolutionary results. My Pastor dropped his career as a surgeon to follow Jesus. It got me to asking myself "Am I really following Jesus?". And i knew right away i could do a much better job of dropping my plans to follow Jesus. In 2015 my life came crashing down and i lost everything I had built to that point. I was broken to the core. I had a broken heart and a broken life. I didn't think i could recover. I turned to the pastors and elders at my church. Luckily enough they themselves just caught onto the inner healing movement. I didn't learn about inner healing from reading some books.
