He immediately closes the door gently and gets into his own car and drives away very "normally". Wonderful news for all Sesame Place fans! The Pennsylvania theme park is officially autism-certified. It's the first amusement park in history to hold “Certified Autism Center” qualification. Sounds great! What does that mean? Reports say 80% of staffers will get specialized autism training. This includes training in "communication, motor skills, sensory and emotional awareness," to better serve special needs kids. Sensory guides will be also be offered to parents, to help plan activities. There will also be low-sensory areas and quiet rooms for children to use, when needed. The new adjustments will be made when Sesame Place reopens on April 28.
