Parma police released new information in connection to a chase that ended in Cleveland Friday.
Officers say a license plate reader pinged a stolen vehicle traveling east on Brookpark Road near West 130th Street.
Police reported seeing the vehicle speeding north on Knollwood Drive with three people inside the car.
Officers say the car drove into oncoming traffic to avoid stop sticks that had been dropped by police at Tiedeman Road and Brookpark Road.
The chase continued into Cleveland, police say, where the car began to smoke heavily and turned north onto West 65th Street from Dennison Avenue.
Soon, the car veered to the right of the road and into a parking lot, officials say, where the three occupants got out of the car as it continued driving.
The car rolled into the porch of a house in the 3400 block of West 65th Street, according to police.
Officers say all three occupants fled on foot, but one 17-year-old stopped fleeing and was taken into custody.
The 17-year-old had an active warrant for his arrest, police say, and was transported to the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Detention Center.
Officers did not clarify if the other two suspects have been taken into custody.

Dallas PD release dashcam video of officers fatally shooting suspect who killed Officer Darron Burks
Finding videos takes time and effort, keep me motivated by donating to https://paypal.me/thisisbutter
-----
3:09 - Dashcam video
-----
The Dallas police chief said on Friday that a man intentionally set out to shoot police when he killed an officer sitting in his patrol car and wounded two others in a late-night ambush that set off a highway chase and ended with officers fatally shooting the attacker.
The shooting on Thursday night brought fresh anguish and anger in a city where a gunman’s ambush on police in 2016 killed five officers.
Chief Eddie Garcia said at a news conference that the suspect – 30-year-old Corey Cobb-Bey – approached officer Darron Burks while he was parked at a community center between calls, talking to him briefly and recording the encounter before pulling out a handgun and “executing” Burks.
“Our officers were targeted for nothing more than the uniform they wear and for the brave and honorable job that they do,” Garcia said.
Police said Cobb-Bey pulled into the parking lot at 10.02pm, about two minutes before Burks. After shooting Burks, Cobb-Bey retrieved a shotgun from his own vehicle and placed it on the roof of the squad car, police said.
When Burks’ colleague Jamie Farmer arrived at 10.11pm to check on Burks after a dispatcher noticed an unusual transmission from him, Cobb-Bey fired his handgun at Farmer, police said. Farmer returned fire and Cobb-Bey retrieved the shotgun. Farmer was hit once in the leg, police said.
When a third officer, Karissa David, arrived a minute later, Cobb-Bey shot at her multiple times, police said. Police said she returned fire and was shot in the face.
Farmer was released from the hospital on Friday, while David remained hospitalized in critical but stable condition.
Cobb-Bey fled the scene and was pursued by other officers to Lewisville, Texas, about 25 miles (40km) north-west of Dallas, police said. Police said that when Cobb-Bey’s vehicle came to a stop on Interstate 35, he exited with a shotgun in his hand that he pointed at officers.
Six officers fired at Cobb-Bey, who died at the scene after being hit multiple times, police said.
No officers were injured in that exchange of gunfire.
Garcia said the investigation has determined that the shootings were premeditated. He said they learned from social media that three days ago, Cobb-Bey approached an unmarked squad car from an unknown law enforcement agency and was recording as he asked officers why they were parked there.
Cobb-Bey had expressed online that he had problems in both his professional and personal life – and indicated that “an event” would be happening, Garcia said.
Police said two shotguns were recovered from the scene in Lewisville, while a .22 handgun and the 9mm handgun used by Cobb-Bey were recovered from the initial scene.
Burks joined the force recently after teaching math at a high school for about 17 years.
He taught at Texan's Can Academy, a charter high school, in the Pleasant Grove community in Dallas from June 2006 to February 2023, where he was “not only an excellent educator but also a mentor to countless students”, the school’s principal, Tina Shaw, said in a statement.

A Police Constable spring into action, to rescue a woman who had slipped and fallen into the sea, just as the tide was rapidly coming in.
Knowing the danger she’d be in and thinking quickly, PC Nelson, along with his colleagues Sgt Higgs, PC Dixon and PC Walker, ran to her aid, throwing a life ring out and pulling her to safety. The heroic rescue can be viewed in the video (click to play above).
Bodycam footage shows him throwing the woman a life ring before pulling her to safety, during the Ride The Lights cycling event in Blackpool. In the footage, PC Nelson can be heard saying: "Look at me. Listen, listen. I'm gonna help you. You're all right. Take a deep breath.
"Right, listen to me very carefully. I want you to put that round your waist, under your arms. Take a good firm hold of that rope. What I'm going to do is, I'm going to pull you up, and I need you to walk. Hold tight, hold on tight." After being brought to safety, PC Nelson reassures the woman that she’s okay before escorting her away from the area.
A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: “Whilst the lady was shaken, she received medical attention and has now made a full recovery thanks to PC Nelson’s incredibly swift actions, which just go to show that our officers have to be ready to attend to any kind of emergency at all times.”

-----Deputies opened fire and killed a man whom they say failed to obey commands to drop a knife in the middle of a northwest Harris County street on Wednesday evening.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office said an initial call came in at 7:16 p.m. about a man cutting or stabbing himself in the 3200 block of Palston Bend Lane in the Villas at Northpark neighborhood. That's located just south of FM-1960.
According to HCSO, deputies located the man impeding traffic and stabbing himself with a knife. Deputies then used verbal commands to disarm the man before unsuccessfully using "less than lethal force," which the sheriff's office didn't immediately specify.
Then, the man advanced toward the deputies, leading them to discharge their weapons, hitting the man, who died at the scene, HCSO said.
The sheriff's office said the man, covered in blood, was also holding a 3-by-2-foot wooden cross over his head, smearing the blood from his injuries.
No deputies were injured during the incident.

Bodycam video shows Long Beach officers shooting woman who pointed replica gun at them

-----
The Long Beach Police Department released a video Thursday of the shooting of a woman who pointed a replica firearm at officers.
The shooting occurred June 16 inside an apartment building in the 1000 block of Long Beach Boulevard, near 10th Street, police said.
A security guard told officers a woman had pointed a gun at his head, robbed him of his keys and said she was going to kill him, according to the LBPD.
The video shows the officers confronting the woman, instructing her to put her hands up. She pointed a firearm -- later identified as a replica -- through a crack in the door, resulting in the shooting, police said.
The woman then barricaded herself in her apartment.
"SWAT responded to the scene and attempted to deescalate the situation. After about four hours of unsuccessful attempts to contact her, SWAT officers deployed gas," police said.
The woman eventually surrendered and was taken into custody.
Police said she sustained a gunshot wound to her upper body and was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Detectives recovered the replica firearm from the scene, and no officers or bystanders were injured, police said.

SLCPD releases bodycam footage of an incident which a woman claims led to her leg amputation

-----
Salt Lake City Police have invoked the officer-involved-critical-incident (OICI) protocol in a 2023 case in which a woman claims she had her leg amputated as a result of injury caused by police.
“This is a unique situation,” said Salt Lake City Police Chief Mike Brown. “Recently, we became aware of a civil lawsuit in this case and upon reviewing the facts, and allegations, we elected to invoke the OICI protocol in the interest of transparency, accountability, and to ensure compliance with state law.”
At around 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 1, two SLCPD officers contacted Agnes Martinez, 57, near 400 West 1700 South. Officers elected to arrest Martinez on drug charges.
The officers made commands to stop, and Martinez physically resisted, according to a press release from SLCPD. While trying to make the arrest, officers went to the ground with Martinez.
After getting her in handcuffs, officers noticed an injury to Martinez’s leg that “appeared to be a broken leg,” the release states. Officers called for paramedics, who then took Martinez to the hospital.
On July 31, SLCPD became aware that Martinez had filed a civil lawsuit claiming that the injury later led to the amputation of her leg. SLCPD has now launched an OICI investigation as a result of serious bodily injury occurring during an arrest.

Providence police bodycam footage shows officer punching man during arrest

Newly released police bodycam video shows a new view of a controversial arrest in Providence earlier this month.
A police sergeant punched Adonis Placencio in the head and stomach during his arrest Aug. 11, as officers tried to disperse a crowd on Broad Street in the aftermath of the Dominican Festival in the city.
Two days later, NBC 10 News showed cell phone video of the arrest posted to social media that shows the officer punching Placencio.
Providence Police Chief Oscar Perez called a news conference that day to defend his officers, claiming the use of force had been reviewed and was justified.
Officers claimed Placencio was not leaving the area and was acting suspiciously about the bag over his shoulder, and was then looking to ditch the bag.
Officers then said they felt a gun in his bag.
Police said they found a gun in the bag after the arrest.
Placencio can be seen in the background of the body camera video in the minutes before his arrest.
At one point he shouts at officers trying to clear the crowd, saying, "we were leaving."
Placencio remained in the area, and about a minute later an officer points in his direction and a group of offices converge on him.
"What are you arresting me for bro? I didn’t do nothing bro," Placencio can be heard saying in the video.
He then says, "I didn’t do nothing. Why are you punching me?"
Police released video from one officer’s camera.
The video also shows officers trying to disperse the crowd, including using chemical spray shortly after Placencio’s arrest.
Minutes later, one officer tells another, "I already sprayed a few."
In the 10-minute video released by police, officers repeatedly tell people in the crowd it was time for those gathered on the street to go home, and one officer warned early in the video that those who didn’t leave could get sprayed.
Toward the end of the video, officers talk to each other about drinks being thrown at them.
One officer tells another, "The big guy they arrested had a gun," referring to Placencio.
Placencio was ordered held for violating the terms of a sentence in a previous gun conviction.

Brooklyn Park police bodycam footage released showing officer shooting man after baby's death

Brooklyn Park Police Department has released bodycam footage from the officer who shot a man shortly after the death of his baby in June.
Police responded to a 7-month-old baby not breathing on June 23 at 3:51 a.m. Officers attempted life-saving first aid. However, the baby did not survive.
Body camera footage shows that around 40 minutes later, the father of the dead baby – 24-year-old Oronde Neal Reese – walked into the home during the investigation and locked himself in a bedroom where a gun was stored.
A family member alerted officers and tried to open the door and stop him from harming himself. As several officers entered the bedroom, a fight broke out as they tried to take the gun away from Reese, who had been rummaging in the closet and had allegedly loaded the gun.
During the fast-escalating struggle captured on bodycam, Officer Momodou Dibba opened fire, striking Reese, who was wounded but survived the shooting after lifesaving measures were applied at the scene.
Brooklyn Park PD says that Dibba has been cleared of wrongdoing in its own internal investigation and returned to active duty as of Aug. 22. However, the incident remains under investigation by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), which will forward its findings to the Hennepin County Attorney's Office.
The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office meanwhile continues to investigate the death of the baby.

Pollce were called to Frick's home on Elaine Street by his parents, who were reporting a domestic disturbance. Police said Frick had assaulted his father and threatened to kill him.
The video shows Sieczkiewicz driving to the home and receiving information from the dispatch center about the dispute.
When Sieczkiewicz arrives and opens the door to the house, Frick is standing a few feet away with his right hand behind his back. Sieczkiewicz tells Frick, "let me see your hands. Let me see your hands."

A woman called 911 Sunday morning because her boyfriend was trying to break into her house with a bat. She said he came home drunk and assaulted her before she kicked him out.
Body cam video shows 37-year-old Emmanuel Blanco Cruz attempting to throw his knife at an officer before he was fatally shot.
Video and audio released by Richardson police show what led up to the deadly shooting of a knife-wielding domestic violence suspect.
The incident happened Sunday around 4 a.m. at a home on Fair Oaks Drive.
Police say they received a 911 call Sunday morning around 4 a.m. from a woman who said her boyfriend, 37-year-old Emmanuel Blanco Cruz, came home drunk and hit her several times.
"I kicked him out, so he's trying to get all his stuff out and into his truck," the woman said.
The woman said she was inside her home with her kids, but Cruz was trying to break in through the windows with a bat. After some sort of commotion, the woman screamed and the 911 call was dropped.
The first officer who arrived on scene ran to the back, where the woman was. She said her boyfriend was trying to stab her.
The officer’s body cam shows Cruz in the garage with a knife.
The video shows Cruz coming out of the house with the knife in hand and walking towards his girlfriend, ignoring the officer.
The female officer can be heard telling Cruz to drop the knife multiple times, but he ignored the commands.
After grabbing something from his truck, he turned to the officer and lunged back as if he was about to throw his knife. That's when the officer fired the fatal shot.
Cruz fell to the ground as more backup arrived. In the body cam video, Cruz can be seen searching for his knife and trying to get back up.
Police say Cruz was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Court rules two Rochester police officers used excessive force during 2015 arrest

-----
A federal court has ruled that two Rochester police officers used excessive force during an encounter nearly 10 years ago.
This involves a lawsuit filed by David Vann regarding an incident outside a store on South Avenue in 2015, when he allegedly wanted to buy beer without an ID.
The store owner says Vann became angry and was then locked out, but later returned through the front door.
Police were called, and Vann claims several officers, including Matthew Drake and Steven Mitchell, went too far during his arrest, punching him several times and throwing him to the ground.
Vann was originally accused with resisting his arrest and injuring two officers during the incident, but he was acquitted of all charges against him, according to court paperwork.
The court agreed, but denied Vann's motion for a summary judgement in all other respects, including claims of excessive force used by three other officers at the scene, according to court paperwork.

Flagler police chase two teens in a stolen Ferrari after a home burglary ends in arrests

A wild cross-country chase involving two teenagers that began on the East Coast ended in Florida, according to authorities.
It all started on Saturday, when two masked men, with guns drawn, entered a home in Cranston, Rhode Island, demanded the keys to the victim’s Ferrari and Corvette.
“I mean, I walk on the street every day,” said neighbor Sophia Dimeglio. “I always feel safe, I never feel uncomfortable. It’s a good neighborhood, we all feel safe here.”
Police have identified the two masked me as Johnathan Costa, 19, and Logan Slezak, 18.
Police said the pair took off in a 2018 Ferrari Spider, leaving the Corvette untouched in the garage.
State troopers later spotted the Ferraro on the highway.
Video from traffic cameras shows the blue Ferrari speeding toward the Rhode Island state line with a fleet of police cruisers trailing behind it.
The chase continued into Connecticut, where troopers eventually lost sight of the car.
Authorities in Florida were alerted of the case and issued a public safety alert.
Two high schools in Saint John’s County were put on a lockdown for a shot time this week as a precaution while deputies searched for the Ferrari.
Flagler County Sheriff’s deputies were able to locate the Ferrari covered up behind a home in Palm Coast.
Negotiators were called in to convince Costa to exit the home, while Slezak was taken into custody in Rhode Island.
Detectives believe the home in Rhode Island was targeted.
“From what I understand, the owner lives in Rhode Island and in Florida and rents the house out to these kids who are also from Rhode Island. I say kids, but they’re young adults,” said a sheriff’s deputy.
Both suspects are facing charges for breaking and entering with felony intent, using a firearm while committing a crime of violence, and conspiracy.

Muskogee Police released body camera video of two officers firing several shots at a man who pointed a gun at those officers during a traffic stop.
Police say the man had a warrant, and they found other stolen guns inside the car.
Muskogee Police say it started as a traffic stop, and there were four people inside the truck.
Officers say one of the passengers, Jordan Pierce, had a warrant. When they tried to get him out of the truck, he is heard on body camera telling officers he wasn’t going to jail and then seen pointing a gun at them.
Police say Pierce was shot in the finger and went to the hospital to get checked out. He was booked into jail the same night. Pierce’s warrant is for possession of a controlled substance, and he is now charged with pointing a gun and having stolen guns.
Investigators say Pierce told them he was trying to hand the gun to the officers.
“You don’t hand a loaded pistol with the hammer cocked back, barrel first, to anybody, so obviously, his intent was not to hand it over and give it to us,” said Deputy Chief Chad Farmer.
Police say another stolen gun and a sawed-off shotgun were also found in the car.
The other passengers have not been charged with anything.

Canton police release body camera footage of officer kicking suspect after viral video

-----
The Canton Police Department has released body camera footage capturing the events surrounding Officer Brandon Momirov kicking 21-year-old Jaemiier McElroy while he was kneeling on the ground with his hands in the air last weekend.
In a press release issued Monday afternoon, police said the incident occurred Saturday night near the Mahoning Manor apartment complex on Morris Avenue NE. Officers were called to the area after someone reported an argument involving 10–15 people, and authorities say "multiple" individuals fled once law enforcement arrived, however others were located and ordered to the ground.
One of those suspects was McElroy, whom the department admits "appeared to be complying" before being kicked. McElroy and two other men were arrested, with police saying two handguns and a backpack containing "a large amount of marijuana" were recovered from the scene. It is not clear just who possessed these items.
A spokesman for the Canton Police Department tells 3News that "Officer Momirov is currently working in a restricted capacity. The incident is under review."
The newly released video is from Momirov's body camera. It shows him running to an area of the complex where several officers are ordering a group of suspects to get on the ground.
He runs toward McElroy, who can be seen on the ground with his hands in the air. After Momirov makes contact, he turns toward the other suspects and says, "you gotta comply."
"Why you hit my brother like that, bro?," one of the men on the ground asks.
"Because he's not complying," Momirov responds.
After the suspects are placed in handcuffs, Momirov is again questioned about why he kicked McElroy.
"How many times did I tell you to get on the ground?," Momirov replies.
"You guys don't want to listen, that's fine," another officer tells the suspects. "Then don't be surprised when we put our hands on you."
McElroy has since been charged with obstruction and resisting arrest, despite authorities saying he was complying with officers' orders.

The incident happened on July 29 in the Beverlywood neighborhood.
AIR7 was over the scene as the suspect ran at the officers and was shot.
The additional video shows earlier exchanges between officers and the suspect inside a woman's home, where he was armed with a knife and attempted to barricade himself. He also set a fire inside the home.
At one point, officers used beanbag rounds to try to subdue him as he lunged with the knife. He did not comply or surrender, and the officers retreated from the home and called in help from SWAT.
In the video, SWAT officers outside the home can be heard repeatedly telling the suspect to get on the ground. He is standing near the house wearing no clothing and covered only by a blanket. He starts running at them while holding the knife and officers open fire. He drops to the ground shortly before reaching them.
The suspect, later identified as Lavell Adams, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Davenport Police Department says body-cam video supports the actions of an officer who shot and killed a family’s dog on Aug. 21, according to a news release sent Wednesday afternoon.
On Wednesday, Aug. 21, about 7:20 p.m., Davenport Police responded to the 800 block of North Pine Street in reference to a report of four dogs at large, appearing aggressive. The caller stated the dogs were attempting to get over a fence to reach their dog, police say.
While the officer was responding to the call, he came upon two children on their bikes with a dog off-leash in the alley of 2100 Telegraph Road. The officer, while in his squad car, asked the children to put the dog on a leash.
“The officer parked his squad car behind a neighboring residence in the alley and approached the adult present to inform her of why he was speaking with the children,” the statement says.
“Upon exiting his vehicle, the videos show the dog run out of its yard, through a neighbor’s yard, at the officer standing near the alley.”
The officer’s report completed as part of the call for service says:
“The dog charged me at full speed, barking aggressively at me. I overheard the adult woman say, ‘Oh, no.’ I began to back up, holding my left hand out in hopes the dog would catch my scent and back away from me. The pitch of the dog’s bark changed to a threatening bark.
“The dog continued barking at me, baring its teeth at me. I observed the dog to be salivating from the mouth. The dog lunged at me multiple times, snapping its teeth at me in an attempt to bite me. I dodged the dog multiple times as it lunged at me while snapping his teeth,” the officer’s statement continues.
“This put me in fear of being seriously injured. I drew my service handgun and continued to back up. The dog lunged at me as I was backing up, trying to bite me. I discharged my firearm twice, striking the dog.”
The officer then requested a supervisor to respond to his location, where the officer then remained on scene for about 23 minutes, while the supervisor met with the family involved.
“Body worn camera supports the officer’s statement about what happened. Based on a review of the facts, the officer’s actions were deemed lawful,” the department’s statement says.
