First Look & Familiarization: Rock River Arms Ascendant ATH Rifle
Contents of this video
The XDMAN, Mr. UnPewFessional Himself! takes a first look and give you a walkthrough of the new Rock River Arms Ascendant ATH All Terrain Hunter Rifle. A turnkey package from Rock River Arms aimed at the hunter. In my opinion this is in the same class as a designated marksman rifle since they fill a very similar role, in that you need an accurate long range rifle that is capable of dispatching multiple target as quickly as possible.
Take a look at the article for the Ascendant ATH at

XDMAN Springfield Armory Prodigy Torture Test
I took a brand new Springfield Prodigy and threw it in the dirt and rocks with the slide open for effect. Not once, not twice but multiple takes, until the I was satisfied that the Prodigy was indeed a dirty girl. Then after a cleaning we went out to try to do the impossible. Where we able to do it? Can you convince a Staccato owner that a "cheap" 2011 is good? Were we able to bring him over to the dark side? Watch the video to find out.
Take a look at my first look article on the Prodigy at www.xdman.com/prodigy

Quick Tech Tip 2011 Magwell Install & Removal
Quick Armorer’s tips on how to install and remove a magwell on a 2011 style pistol like the Springfield Armory Prodigy or Staccato. We show two different methods for installation and removal. The preferred method is to utilize the factory short mainspring housing pin as a slave pin to hold everything together. The second method we will show you how to completely remove the mainspring housing pin. You would do this if you were taking the pistol completely apart.
You will need these parts
Magwell
The Dawson Precision Gen 2 2011 magwell includes the proper pin.

Mainspring Housing Pin/Magwell Pin (long)
You will need a pin if your magwell does not include one.

Quick Tech Tip Springfield 2020 Rimfire Bolt Help
Quick Armorer’s tip: what to do if you can’t insert your bolt into your Springfield Armory 2020 22lr rifle. If your bolt handle is out of alignment, wobbly & droopy we will show you how to fix it without having to contact customer service. In this simple fix I show you three different methods on how to re-cock your bolt handle so it can be inserted into the receiver. Tips two and three are especially helpful if you have hand strength issues like arthritis.
It is easy to accidentally misalign the bolt handle on most bolt action bolts outside of the receiver. The Springfield Armory 2020 22lr seems especially easy to misalign. In fact my personal 2020 22lr came out of the shippment box knocked out of alignment. At first the bolt was stubborn and I could not turn it with my bare hands. After shooting it some things loosened up and I am able to rotate the bolt handle without tools. A warning this information can be used for most bolt action bolts, but centerfire bolts, can rarely be turned back into alignment without tools.
Tools
1. Zip Tie
2. Shoelace or 550 cord
3. The will to learn

4:30 - Using a zip tie as a ratchet or for leverage (works for a bunch of bolt actions)
6:00 - Using a shoelace or 550 cord for leverage (works for most bolt actions)

First One, 35 Round Echelon Magazine?
No there really isn't a 35 round Echelon magazine. But I did a little experimenting with a factory Springfield Armory 35 round XDM magazine and was able to get it to work! We had one no strike while using the full steel Yankee Hill R9 Suppressor. Looking at the video afterwards I think my hunch was right. Combined with the subsonic Remington ammo the slide was slowed down enough by the heavy suppressors weight on the end of the barrel. Switching to a lighter weight Aluminum can and the pistol seemed to like that better with the slide not dragging as much. This is my second Echelon and the first shots out of this pistol. What a test to see if I could make an experimental magazine work.
