The Evolution video is The Commander-In-Chief´s first concept video. This song and the video were inspired by cases where ambition in science goes wrong. Specifically by the story of Lobotomy and other psychiatric procedures. The CIC wrote the story line for the video when she wrote the song in 2009/2010. The song became the title track of her official debut EP.
After a failed attempt to film the video in February 2013 it was finally shot during the first week of June the same year. The video was filmed at her family home in England. It was directed, filmed and edited by Elisabeth Hagen.
The EP was produced by Sterling Winfield (Pantera, Hatebreed, Hellyeah), the Evolution EP was recorded organically, with no Auto tune or Pro Tools magic of any kind.
The title track was nominated for best metal song 2012 by Hollywood Music In Media Awards.
The Commander-In-Chief proudly endorses Ibanez guitars, EMG pickups, Laney amps, PreSonus and Audix microphones.

Stay With Me by The Commander In Chief
From my critically acclaimed acoustic album "Berit - Vol. 1." This was the first of 4 acoustic albums, after my international success in heavy metal and classical crossover. "Berit - Vol. 3" has just been released on my website, and album 4 will be released in a few days. Toccata & Fugue (J.S. Bach) new version by The Commander In Chief
After becoming increasingly frustrated with Youtube, I decided to give this a go:) This is the 1st music video from my new album "The Virtuoso." The album marks my return to playing classical crossover music, after a 4 years (!) recovery from a vicious parasite infection. I hope my album can inspire others who goes through tough times.
It was a great honour to work with platinum selling, super producer John Haywood on 2 of the songs on the album; this one and also my version of "Moonlight Sonata." Here is a statement he made:
"When I first worked with Berit and heard her play the guitar I knew instantly she was rewriting the rule book on electric guitar faculty and propelling this instrument
into an entirely different sound world, totally unique and entirely different
from what we generally know of the electric guitar. Her unique and classical-esque guitar tone sings and transcends beauty, capturing emotion in such a way that it mesmerizes at every twist and turn of the melody and blends beautifully with the orchestra.
Simply put, Berit has given the electric guitar an entirely new and refreshingly different life form, one which fascinates and inspires when you hear it, and one that for me as a music producer is incredibly fulfilling to work with." John Haywood – Music Producer
