Starring Orson Welles. A young boy is the fourth lost along a cliffside, leading Lamont Cranston to believe it was no accident.
The Shadow started as a mysterious radio show narrator on July 31st, 1930. In 1931, Walter B. Gibson was hired to flesh out the character when then appeared in The Shadow Magazine on April 1st, 1931. The radio series began on September 26th, 1937.
The Shadow is Lamont Cranston, wealthy playboy who uses his vast resources, and his ability to cloud minds, to fight crime. About sixty percent of the radio shows are lost, though the original scripts still exist.

Fear on Four ran between 1988 and 1992 and is a revival of Appointment with Fear series, which originally broadcast on the BBC in the 1940s and 1950s. The series was also revived in 1949 (and in 2009) as The Man in Black. The stories, introduced by a character known as the Man in Black, ranged from classic stories--such as Edgar Allan Poe or W. W. Jacobs--to newer writers. An anthology of stories from the first two series (Appointment with Fear & the Man in Black) was published by BBC Books in 1990.
