The Way Church 1/28/24 Truth is not determined by the public. The truth of any matter does not turn on public opinion. Jesus is the Messiah because the Father appointed Him to be that role. It is God’s law, not your own to be changed. Your spiritual identity is either aligned with God or with the world. The Way Church 1/21/24 Sanctity of Life Sunday. We all have the foundation in us to know that all life is sacred, it comes from God. The life standing next to you is just as important as the unborn one. Love and celebrate ALL life. Work to invest in other people and you will grow too. The Way Church 1/14/24 Scripture teaches us that all human life is sacred. Each person is created in the image of God. We are all different, but He created all of us in His image. This should effect how you interact with people. You can’t hide from the world and wait for God to come back. The Way Church 12/17/23 We looked at John 6 where we see Jesus introducing the doctrine of irresistible grace through telling of the story of Moses and Manna in the desert and how He is the bread of life. God’s grace changes us all from with in first. Salvation is the work of God in your heart. Grace is not defined as an offer of the gospel, it is God’s willingness to save you even when we were his enemies. We are saved by grace through faith. Truth is truth. The Way Church 12/10/23 We all have physical and spiritual needs. God prepares us to understand that we don’t have to go after our physical needs, He provides that for us, so we can focus on our spiritual needs. Faith is work. We need to be consistently exercising our faith. Actively Seeking Him and believing He will be there for us. The Way Church 12/3/23 In John 6, we see the story of Jesus walking on water. In the beginning of this story we see Jesus dismissing the crowds, then he retreated to the mountain top to pray. Jesus was constantly finding alone time to spend with his father. We need to continually put that effort and energy in our relationship with God. The disciples decided to head out to the boat. The sea began to stir up and Jesus appears before them, walking on the water. Jesus entrance was amazing, but it’s not unprecedented. He uses control over natural elements to demonstrate his power and authority. The Holy Spirit permitted the water to change to hold the man directly stepping on it, which also allowed Peter to walk on the water with Jesus, until he started to doubt. When we learn to abide in Christ we begin to recognize Jesus power and begin to do things that before we could not. ••• #thewaychurchlivonia #betheway #john6

The Way Church 11/26/23 In John 6, we see the miracle Jesus performs by feeding the 5,000. A new narrative is being built. Jesus is drawing people’s minds back to the story of Moses leading people out of Egypt. Jesus is the Lord who fed the people the first time and he is preparing to do the same thing again. Jesus has his disciples go around and tel everyone to sit down. The main purpose that Jesus does this is so that they can relate him back to Psalm 23. The shepherd cares for his sheep and makes sure they can lay down and are fed. Jesus is our Shepard and we depend on him to lead us. He cares for us because we cannot care for ourselves. Our security comes from the shepherd willingness to care for his sheep. Always. This miracle lacked nothing, it satisfied all. ••• #thewaychurchlivonia #betheway #john6

The Way Church 11/19/23 The only way man can follow the Father’s will perfectly is if he was sinless. And only God is sinless, so Jesus had to be God in order to live a perfectly sinless life. In John 5 we see Jesus using the word to show that He is the Messiah. The truth of his claim is in the scriptures. He is not just saying what he is saying to say it, he is showing the truth is curaberated by the word. The Way Church 11/12/23 Pastor Jason preached from John 5. In this book we find the story of a miracle where Jesus visited healing pools and performed a miracle by telling a man to “pick up his mat and walk.” This man believed a myth of human religion (that the waters of this pool could heal the first person to enter it). This myth had nothing to do with the mercy of God. He was living in a state of hopelessness. False religions always rely on some human achievement to please God. So when our systems fail, we fall back on blaming ourselves that we did not do enough to please God. But God does not work that way and He does not follow human rules or human expectations. He brings grace without a catch. The Lord brings healing, it doesn’t rely on human abilities. As a human we have no ability to save ourself, but God chooses to give that gift to us freely if we just choose Him. ••• #thewaychurchlivonia #betheway #john5 #sundayrecap

The Way Church 10/29/23 We continued in our series through John by talking about Jesus interaction with the Samaritan woman at the well in John 4. The religion of Samaria was a manmade religion, which is a manmade attempt to reach up to heaven. True religion is delivered from heaven as a revelation from God. Jesus goes against human’s limits of interactions because they do not apply to Him. He willingly communicates with all. Jesus shows us the importance of being real and natural in our conversations. Work to open the door for further conversations with people. People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. So develop a relationship with them and love out your testimony to plant a seed in their life and allow for them to find faith in their own timing. ••• #thewaychurchlivonia #betheway

The Way Church 10/22/23 Continuing in John 3, we see how John the Baptist pushes his followers towards Christ. Encouraging them to leave his discipleship and follow Jesus. John’s disciples were concerned that everyone was going to Jesus but that was John’s plan. It wasn’t about personal status with John, it’s about people’s salvation. We need to guard our hearts against becoming disciples of a pastor or denomination or a church. We need because of Jesus. Our focus should be on Jesus, not on a ministry, song, building expectation. There is nothing wrong with holding respect for leaders within the church, but they should never be idolized. The Way Church 11/5/23 The top priorities of our life must be spiritual ones. We need to focus on Jesus and the problems we are facing will begin to diminish in their authority. In John 4 we learn that Jesus expects the cycle of sowing and reaping to always be present in Christian’s lives. God waters, but it’s our job to sow, and someone else may reap the results… but we have to be willing to start and sow faith into people’s lives. Strong people in faith don’t need to see, they just believe. Create the encounter for people to know Christ by themselves. The Way Church 10/8/23 Reaching heaven comes in two parts. The son of man needed to descend from heaven. A person must believe that Jesus death on the cross was for them. His death saved us from judgement. Jesus did not participate with this plan against his will, he openly chose to do it. Jesus the creator knew that by creating the world he would ultimately have to die for it. He did it in the beginning knowing that he would ultimately have to die for it. He went through this because of his love. He wanted to get to know you personally and have a relationship with you knowing that he would have to pay everything for it. The Way Church 10/1/23 This Sunday we focused on John 2:12-22. This tells the story of when Jesus was traveling to capernum with family. They stopped at the temple and noticed it was becoming a merchant bazaar. The Pharisees were taking advantage of the public by way of money exchanges, sacrificial lambs, and inspections (violating their laws and duties). Jesus acts and puts an end to this misuse of this temple and declares it to be His Father’s house.

The Way Church 9/24/23 We started working through the second chapter in John. This chapter begins on the 7th day of Jesus’ ministry and includes His first miracle, where He turned water into wine. Jesus did this discreetly. He did not violate the Father’s will because He did not publicize what He did… the credit went to the bridegroom. The humanity of Christ is shown here, He respects His mother and also rebukes her for her for asking Him to do something to fix the situation. Both sides of Jesus are perfectly natural and perfectly laid out. Jesus came to earth to validate that He is the Messiah. The use of miracles was a means to an end. Jesus’ purpose is not to just do this or that. The timing of Jesus’ miracles are all according to the Father’s plan. ••• #thewaychurchlivonia #betheway

The Way Church 9/17/23 Continuing in our series going through the book of John, we focused on Jesus baptism and the beginning of His ministry. At Jesus’ baptism, the initial equipping happens. Here is where He transitions from the carpenter’s son to the Messiah. The Way Church 9/10/23 During the first week in our new series studying the book of John, we focused on how John talks about Jesus being the light. By referencing Jesus in this way, John is tying the creation story into who Jesus is. The God who was creating all thing is Jesus Christ. They are the same person. Jesus is the source of eternal life and He is the solution to the problem of darkness in our world. As Christians sharing the good news with people, we need to understand that light to a blind person is no light at all. We have to get to a point where the light is turned on in people’s life and they begin to see truth. Be patient, it will take time. The Way Church 8/27/23 Pastor Jason continued to focus on the struggles of temptation. The more we learn about Christ, the more we should be like Him. Temptation is different for everyone. We all face different struggles. God is working on different things with different people. Our main focus should be to love. The mature Christian may see that it is unfair to give up their liberties for someone that is too weak to ignore certain things, but it is the right thing to do. The Way Church 8/20/23 In the last message in our series “What is Truth?”, we focused on Biblical strength. It’s important to increase your strength because the enemy will always attack you with temptation. We can increase our strength by… 1. Staying humble by being moldable and teachable. 2. Surrounding yourself with good people who will not tempt you but move you forward in a positive direction. 3. Volunteering and serving: time with believers and trusting and investing to move things forward in the direction of Gods plan. 4. Making things better then you found them: seek out to better the world we are in even if you never see the full fruition come. You must constantly be on your guard because temptation is after you. The Way Church 8/13/23 What does salvation look like in your life? We needed Jesus as our Savior because we are not able to follow God’s law on our own. Our flesh is always set against Godly principles and direction. We were born with a sin nature, but when we put on the helmet of salvation, we chose to get rid of ourselves and let the spirit of God work through us. The Way Church 8/6/23 Faith: Believing isn’t enough, you need to exercise your faith. By faith we move forward even when the destination isn’t clear. To grow your faith you need preaching. To grow your faith, we need problems. Problems drive us to Jesus and teach us how to lean on Him. To grow our faith we need people. The biggest weakness in western culture is the push to be the long ranger. The push should be the integration into the body of Christ. We are better together. We aren’t meant to be alone. To grow your faith you need a purpose and perspective. Perspective is not the size of your faith it is the size of your God. The Way Church 7/30/23 Trauma: A cause to someone that becomes so upsetting to that person that it often leads to bigger problems. We aren’t protected from things happening to us because we are still living in a sin filled world. But a life in Jesus sustains us. The peace Jesus offers is a calm confidence that we are in His hands and all will be well with Him. The Way Church 7/23/23 Evil comes out of the heart of man. How do you cleanse your own heart? You can’t, but Christ can. We can only do good when Christ works through us. Every day we must have Christ guide us and protect us and guard our hearts. Put your trust in Christ and He does the rest. Never avenge yourself, leave it to the wrath of God and work to show kindness to all, including your enemies.
