The Lawrence Beat Podcast: Episode 17 - Chloe Cole
When you remember being 13, what comes to mind? Perhaps the nervousness of moving up into junior high school. Maybe the discomfort of feeling your body change. Maybe it’s the fickle nature of friend groups or the fear of growing up.
Chloe Cole had all of these feelings. These and more. And the way she was encouraged to address all the fears and uncertainty was to medically treat and surgically remove parts of herself. Engaging in these trans RIGHTS would make everything better.
But what happens when you medically suppress a normal body function? One as important as, say, puberty. What happens when you remove perfectly healthy body parts to address an issue in your mind? Chloe knows. She knows all about it.

The LB Report: KU mishandles Detransition event.
October 26th 2023 The University of Kansas mishandled what could have been one of its most important events of the year.
It is important to ask the University of Kansas if they believe one of the main purposes of a university is to create space for the rigorous debate of ideas? Does KU support the exchange of differing viewpoints that allow some ideas to be exposed as lacking while others worthy of more exploration?
We dive into this topic in our first edition of our short news report series: The LB Reports.

The Lawrence Beat Podcast: Episode 12 - Jennifer Williams
In Episode 10 of the Lawrence beat podcast, we spoke to Angel Cushing, a resident of Lyon County Kansas. Angel uncovered land grab schemes where government agencies are colluding with corporate interests in an attempt to destroy and dismantle local agriculture.
And if that weren't unethical enough, today's guest, Jennifer Williams exposed a plot that would have placed million square foot intermodular warehouses and corporate distribution centers directly in her backyard. Since Jennifer and her neighbors live in an unincorporated part of Johnson County, the judge who heard their case against the developers said they had " no standing" to fight.
That was unacceptable to Jennifer and her organized group of residents. They knew that, while they may not have had legal standing to be heard in court, they had property rights and they found in our Kansas Attorney General the support they needed to fight and win.
