Mass Shootings Go International 4K
Mass shootings have sadly become a common occurrence in the world, plaguing countries from all continents. In 2019 and 2020, numerous mass shootings occurred across the globe, leaving hundreds of people dead or injured. While the United States has consistently been the country with the most mass shootings in the world, the devastating impact of these events has been felt around the world as well, with other notable mass shooting incidents including an attack on two mosques in New Zealand that killed 51 people, an Easter Sunday bombing in Sri Lanka that left more than 250 dead and 500 injured, and an attack on a popular nightclub in Istanbul that resulted in 39 deaths. Europe has also been the victim of multiple mass shootings in recent years, most of them linked to acts of terrorism. Sadly, the aftermath of these tragedies often entails physical and psychological trauma for survivors and their families, as well as negatively impacts the population of the countries concerned in the long term.
Mass shootings in Europe have become an increasingly alarming phenomenon in recent years. While there have been several isolated incidents of gun violence occurring on the continent for many years, the frequency and severity of these events have increased dramatically over the last decade. The majority of mass shooting incidents in Europe occur in France and Germany, but other European countries with high rates of violent crime include Norway, Belgium, and Finland.

DC Mayor Asks State To Assist In Recruitment & Policing 4K
All of the District’s decision-makers were under the same roof for a public safety summit Wednesday hosted by Mayor Muriel Bowser.
The nearly 5-hour event was billed as a gathering to "discuss the state of crime trends in the District, strategies within the public safety ecosystem to address crime, and solicit feedback from public safety leaders."
This raggedy ass city needs some help. Lets Discuss.
Riley Gaines says she was hit by activist, ambushed by pro-trans mob at San Francisco 4K
Former collegiate swimmer Riley Gaines said she was hit by an activist and forced to barricade in a room to escape an enraged pro-transgender mob after a speech advocating for single-sex women’s sports at San Francisco State University.
“I was ambushed and physically hit twice by a man,” said Ms. Gaines in a statement posted Friday by the Independent Women’s Forum. “This is proof that women need sex-protected spaces. Still only further assures me I’m doing something right. When they want you silent, speak louder.”
Louis Barker, husband of the former University of Kentucky swimmer, said she told him that she was struck by a man wearing a dress even as she was being protected by campus police at the Thursday appearance.
“She told me she was hit multiple times by a guy in a dress,” Mr. Barker told Fox News Digital. “I was shaking. It made me that mad. It makes me sick to feel so helpless about it. She was under police protection and was still hit by a man wearing a dress.”
He said he spoke to her while she remained barricaded in the room for about three hours after the speech.
Going viral Friday was a video showing a mob of screaming protesters following Ms. Gaines as officers hustled her down a corridor and into a room.
Now while this was funny for all the wrong reasons, I do want to point out that Riley should not have been subject to that abuse and if someone had gotten hurt, it would have been they end "those" people. Lets discuss.

Climate activism: Increasingly effective, or increasingly annoying? Annoying AF 4K
It should be a cause of wonderment that eco-activism has remained so peaceful. Scholars should study why it is that those who are most alert to the danger of the climate collapse and the biodiversity breakdown are responding with non-violent actions like tying themselves to goalposts, throwing food at glass, or gluing themselves to showroom luxuries instead of, say, blowing up gas terminals or assassinating the c-suite leaders of petro-giants.
As if they could even do any of this. If they did they would be considered a true threat to peace and would involuntarily give up their lives for the cause as so called martyrs.
The common response to these operations is annoyance or dismay. The protestors who staged attacks on priceless works of art assumed that people would react with disgust at their temerity. That response makes their point for them – we prefer the symbols of our civilisation to actually being civilised and changing the present trajectory that is putting the lives of millions of people (and millions of species) at risk.
The problem with these protests is not that ordinary people are disrupted. A civil disobedience campaign that doesn’t disrupt people is just obedience. The deeper problem with these tactics is that they misunderstand the present challenge in terms of environmental adaptation. The justification for all the measures – whether that is blocking motorways or dousing offices in paint – is the raising of awareness.
I often wonder if these people are truly in it for the "planet" given they cry and complain that people from an overall standpoint are to blame for the decline in our whatever but they seem to not realize that the majority of population from the world comes from China and India. How does embarrassing yourself infant of westerns get you anything when the real problem is overseas? Guess you really aren't made for this or for the cause you would be marching into Hong Kong waiting to be arrested for this bullshit. Let's Discuss theses Greenies.

First-ever ‘smart gun’ with fingerprint and facial recognition unlocking system hits the market 4K
The cutting-edge 9mm handgun locks out everybody except the owner and users specifically approved by the owner — technology that could improve gun safety in America, according to reps from the gun-making firm Biofire.
“Right now it seems like the entire country is always processing a new tragedy involving children and guns,” the Colorado-based firm’s CEO Kai Kloepfer told The Post. “We are offering a real solution, at a time when solutions seem very hard to come by.”
The $1,499 gun unlocks in less than a second, using either a fingerprint or facial recognition sensor, then quickly locks again when it’s no longer in use.
As gun control legislation remains largely stalled in the US, the innovation could help prevent everything from school shootings to accidents and suicides, reps from the company said.
“We’re not claiming that the Biofire Smart Gun is going to prevent every instance of firearm misuse. But we do believe this tool can help prevent some firearm suicides, accidents, and injuries from occurring,” Kloepfer said.”If our work saves even one child’s life, it will be worth it.”
While this is quite the advanced leap forward in gun safety, I would wonder who exactly this little update works for. Less than a second is all it takes to lose your life but do the benefits of safety outweigh the moments that might lead to someones death? Lets discuss.

'Don't demonize them': Chicago's new mayor-elect 'not constructive' to vilify teens
Hundreds of teens cause fiery chaos in Downtown Chicago as they torch cars in rampage organized on social media: Vastly outnumbered police manage just 15 arrests. Hahaha oh Chicago. A crowd of more than a hundred rowdy teenagers turned violent in Downtown Chicago on Saturday night as dozens torched and smashed cars while blaring music in a 'teen trend' that left two with gunshot wounds.
Shocking footage showed some teenagers jumping on top of a bus while others started a massive brawl after descending on Millennium Park and attempting to breach barricades. Unfortunate events for our youth today.

What Animals Would You Try To Go Toe To Toe With? 4K
Coyote, Mountain Lion, Panther. Passed that I'm not sure one would even have the possibility of surviving.
A 22-year-old man is recovering from bite wounds after a suspected bull shark attack in the Florida Keys.
Ethan Wilder was spearfishing with his best friend on Friday morning when the incident took place, near Davis Reef off Islamorada.
"I am about 98 percent sure it was a bull shark because right when it bit me I turned around and saw the shark's oval nose for about a second or two before I swam away," he said. "As well, my best friend who was watching me from the boat saw the shark's tail on the surface right after it got me."
Following his surgery, Wilder was discharged from hospital the day after the attack.
"I just have to go back to get all of the stitches removed in a week and I'll be in a boot for six weeks so my tendon heals properly," he said.
If you see a shark, maintain eye contact, move away slowly and avoid excessive splashing.

Black chiefs to meet amid debate on benefit of cop diversity 4K
Over his 32-year police career in Dallas, Terrance Hopkins has seen tremendous changes in the profession. For rookie Black officers in a predominantly white and conservative field, he said, the prevailing feeling used to be that you were lucky to be allowed on the force.
Now, it is not unusual to see veteran Black officers in top leadership roles. But the issues that plague the profession’s reputation in Black communities — excessive uses of lethal force, racial profiling and routine brutality from officers — have not become relics of the past under diverse leadership. That reality has been laid bare by the beating death of Tyre Nichols in Memphis, Tennessee, and the in-custody restraint death of Irvo Otieno that involved Virginia sheriff’s deputies.
Part of the problem is that too many Black police leaders “walk on eggshells” about addressing bad policing and racism in the force, said Hopkins, the outspoken president of the Black Police Association of Dallas who serves as a tactical special events planner for the city’s department.
We not bouta do all that. Let's Discuss this idea of repersentation especially in policing.

It’s Not Just Bud Light. How Companies Are Fighting Back Against the War Over ‘Woke.’ 4K
Bud Light is the latest casualty in a battle over whether companies are embracing too many progressive goals, from gender identity to climate change. A Bud Light is no longer just something you grab when you feel like a beer. A conservative outcry over Bud’s marketing campaign with a transgender activist has put the brand into the center of a culture war over so-called corporate wokeism.
To many people, Bud was simply getting with the times by embracing activist Dylan Mulvaney, recognizing LGBTQ consumers, and following the lead of brands such as Coca-Cola (ticker: KO), Nike (NKE), and Hershey (HSY). But the conservative backlash against Bud Light produced a 26% drop in beer sales in a week. Companies from BlackRock (BLK) to Walt Disney (DIS) are under siege as political attacks on progressive corporate policies heat up ahead of the 2024 elections. Some companies are fighting back—notably Disney—and there is scant evidence of firms retreating from environmental, social, and governance, or ESG, initiatives.
At the same time, conservative calls to boycott consumer brands and financial companies accused of corporate “wokeism” have gained momentum, and several Republican-led states have passed laws or rules penalizing companies they view as hostile to their economic or social interests.
Lets Discuss. Good move, useful? Ill-advised or a mistake of magnanimous proportions? I think we can all agree that justice is sound. The idea that socially we are one another responsible for the actions of the diluted few is as advertised, disastrous. Just sell me my shhh and let f*ck off in peace.
