Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson and Gov. Ron DeSantis challenged Attorney General Ashley Moody, and Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis to raise the bar in combatting Amendment 4 on Wednesday.
Initially, DeSantis had announced that the cabinet would contribute $400,000 to oppose the amendment.
Simpson then increased his commitment to $200,000, prompting DeSantis to match that amount, bringing the total contribution to $600,000.
The amendment, sponsored by Floridians Protecting Freedom, would enshrine abortion into the state’s constitution. It would allow for the practice to be done up until the point of “viability,” which the governor previously said is a non-definable time in the pregnancy that can easily be abused by abortion providers.

Is This The Convention About Nothing?
Wednesday marks the third night of the highly dysfunctional Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago, Illinois, and Democrats are scrambling to figure out how to execute convention logistics properly. The first two nights, they pushed their current and former presidents of the United States past primetime — neither Joe Biden nor Barack Obama took the stage before 11:00 p.m. on the East Coast — and Democrats struggled to find any coherent message at all.

Former President Donald Trump’s campaign launched a website called Kamala2024Policies.com as mockery of Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign website’s lack of a policy page.
“Kamala Harris has yet to tell voters what her policies are, so we thought we’d help them out,” Trump campaign national press secretary Karoline Leavitt said. “Kamala Harris wants to open the borders, raise taxes, and free criminals.”

On the second night at the “mostly peaceful” gathering of leftists in Chicago, Illinois, former President Barack Obama will return to the main stage and spotlight to give the keynote address at the end of the evening.
