One important thing I didn't talk about on this video was pcv systems, and how some models use a tube on you intake pipe while others go on either the throttle body or behind. For a daily driver without serious tune and modifications, you want to keep this system intact. If you want to invest in higher-end products like Granatelli, Accel, or MSD/Holley, more power to you but it would be wise to spend that price difference on something that matters to produce power like PCM tuning or valvetrain components.

To Be Continued... Yeah, I kinda got hit out of nowhere twice today as the check engine light came on, and I take my first look at a Gen 4 LS and its tune. There are so many sensors, and VVT, DoD, and why the hell is the O2 sensor and MAF not logging anything? I am going to do some research on this, and make a video more about it. I planned on doing a Gen 3 LS tune on a P01, which I have done successfully before, and this opportunity arose that I wasn't ready for. So I just cover what the basics are of the software, and more or less how it gives you full control to do a professional tune, data log, and do anything you want to the check engine light from reading it to just saying it doesn't exist. The MPVI2 that I use does have Bluetooth, not a joke, it is wireless and works on your phone even to data log, but I prefer to hard wire into the PCM. If you want to look into one I have links below for the latest model that lets you data log as a stand-alone unit. All the software comes with it to data log and reads/clear your DTC's (check engine light). It does require licenses to flash your PCM for about $100 per car, and there are bundle deals if you do multiple cars within a family of models and years. I made some progress on the tieing odds and ends up finally cutting the Y-pipe and the last pieces of the old exhaust out, and then mounting the Deral trans cooler up under the hood with clearance in the original location I planned on. I may add louvers on that part of the hood to make sure air flows around it better, but what is important is getting her running again, and then we can worry about the looks. This is part one of a four-part that is looking at the overall story of the LS engine while my other videos in the About The LS series focus on the engineering and possibilities of the engine. This is just trying to touch on the events that caused General Motors to take action and have to start redesigning their Small Block Platform. Once they started to really redesign the small block it takes off like a rocket, both the redesign and the engine, and will follow up with part two when the decision to go totally away from the original small block design was made. This video was quite difficult to make as a wannabe creator that is just starting out. I have the 2 as the first link, but they just dropped the 3 with added support for more vehicles across both foreign and domestic brands. This isn't a preloaded super chip or bully dog, it is to fully tune your PCM, data log runs at the track, read trouble codes, add electronic fans, adjust transmission shift points and pressure, and even delete sensors for modification done to your engine. There is plenty of support on their website, and their active forum page where you can post your tune and get experienced tuners to give you advice as you learn how to tune. Of course when you cross over to wanting to electronically control boost on an LS turbo set up you may need to spend the big bucks on a Holley Terminator to simplify your wiring harness. I have been using this for years, and it is a step further than using their B-12 Chemtool. It is more invasive as you have to blow the can into your PCV valve or throttle body with the engine running as the fix a flat style can just dump in for about 5 minutes. After you have treated your engine it may bog for a little bit during and right after, but once you run up through the rpms and blow out the foam it is like the engine is brand new.
