Ear Training -Jazz Backing Track 2, Random Chords, 8 bars (From the Jazz backing Tracks Channel)
Ear training with random notes. Toughest part of my training but it is always nerve wrecking and fun at the same time. BTW these have no set scales or rules it is what I hear inthe backing track and trying to match it with an improv I am hearing in my head to try my best to nail those changes and be in tune with the chord at hand. I can't believe I have the courage to post this. LOL!

Duncan Designed HB-101 Pickups
Incorporating two dynamic Duncan Designed HB101 humbucking pickups the Lasalle JZ-2 produces an articulate, bright and full tone ideal for jazz and blues guitarists. Based on the iconic Seymour Duncan SH-1 humbuckers the HB101 are constructed from Alnico magnets to produce a crisp and balanced tone.
Heritage hollowbody tone
Complete tonal freedom. The JZ-2 blows sonic versatility wide open. Hollowbody guitars are renowned for their ability to produce fuller, more-resonant tones than their solid-body counterparts. Possessing the warm, rounded qualities of an acoustic guitar, hollowbody guitars deliver an unmatched presence on stage.
The elegant semi-hollow design also features a cutaway for enhanced playability, and providing you with precise control across all 20 frets. Achieve a beautifully mellow tone, perfect for jazz, blues, and rock genres.
Superb playability
Write riffs in style. The maple neck is sculpted to fit the palm of your hand, so you can be sure that it has a satisfying, vintage feel, offering exceptional comfort in every practice, performance, and studio session. Tonally, it is bright, helping give your notes a snap and bite which complements virtually any style of music. Then there's the rosewood fretboard, which is also incredibly playable, offering decent note sustain and a sleekness of its own. You'll be skimming along each fret like a bird, giving you the freedom to improvise in your own style.

Improvisation Practice With The Night Soul (Am Backing Track) - Marco Sponza
This is what I've been working on for the past few weeks to at least make noodling worth while. I put on a backing track and instead of just going through the noodling motions, I try now to create a song/melody/motiff. I figure this would train not only my hands and rhythm but also my ear as I try to transpose what I hear inside my head into the guitar, I find that when I am not recording it, I move freely and play smoother than when I record it. There is something about that darn record button that onece pressed releases chaos! I figuire I shjould do this more often and not be afraid to put myslef out there during these practice sessions until I get better at it. In the end of the day it is better than just mindless noodling. Trying to constract something on the fly is toucher than nails but will I'm sure be a benefit at some point specially as I now committed to learn the notes on the entire fretboard and some scales I have neglected to work on. Cheers!

Twinkle Little Star (My arrangement)
Hi all - this is my own arrangement of Twinkle Little Star. Some of the notes/chords I play I don't even know what chord exactly they are but it sounded good to my ears. Its a step to learning how to start figuring out creating my own chord melodies. Thanks for watching! Cheers!

Misty
Still working hardon this song! I purchased this fromSandra Sherman "Guitar Versum" as part of a bundle and I had challenges with the technique so I had to changed some things to be able to play it. After trying various ways to get around my technique challenges, I came to my own interpretation and phrasing, dynamics and hoping I can get better at it. I'll keep working on it.
I am using a D'Angelico Premiere Mini DC, 9 guage half round srtrings, pluged to a DV Mark Little Jazz amp. :)

Love -Hate Relationship With My 2017 Road Worn 50s Tele
It's all about the neck for me in any guitar I play. Did not realize that a soft V would give me pain issues. Other than that I LOVE TELEs!!!
Jody Fisher Complete Jazz Guitar Beginner level, Chap 1 pg 7 & 8 Open Chords and Barre chord.
I've started my lessons in Jody Fisher's Complete Jazz Guitar book. Here I practice open chords and Barre chord shapes. Though I have played for more than 30 years I committed to not taking shortcuts and learning everything in this book. It is amazing how I never played some of these open chords like the B, some of F and some of G in open chord format. Learning now after more than 30 years of playing, This book is going to be good!

Saturday Jam With My Vintage Icon Series V82 and Ibanez Tube Screamer
Just jamming to Super Funky Little Feat backing tract graciouslly provided by the New York Shred Channel on YouTube using my Vintage Icon series V62 guitar I got a year ago. I'm also trying to play with just fingers and trying to just stay in one position and be creative as I can given limited notes. Still choppy and needs improvement but the journey continues! Cheers and happy Saturday!

Improvisation Strictly by Ear Total Chaos but I Had Fun!!!
I thought I'd just play a backing track, not pay attention to what my hands are doing and to just try to play what I hear inside my head. Total chaos as I do not know if I'm even within the key. I just play and hope I nail a few. It was weird cause hitting many unwanted notes and trying to figure out what to do really challenged me in a fun way.

Epiphone ES335 PRO
Just got this used Epiphone ES 335 PRO in the mail and doing a quick test. I always wanted the cherry red Gibson but it is too expensive so I compromised with an Epi and man it sounds good. I set it up myself with low action and changed the string to Fender pure nickel 9 gauge. All my guitars are 9 gauge now as they feel easy and great on my aging fingers. So here I am just basically noodling/improvising. I think I am going to love this guitar a lot! Would be great if I could play her well but the journey continues.....hope you like the sound of the guitar. I am plugged to a DV Mark 12 Jazz amp. Cheers my YouTube frinds!

Video From Way Back When
This is an old video that I forgot to upload! I used a generic backing track here and was actually trying to compose a melody and then it downed on me that even if I did I would not be able to claim the composition due to copyright laws for the backing track I used so maybe someday I'll be able to work on composing an entire song.

Very Quick Test 2008 Squier 50s Classic Vibe (used on Reverb)
Hi All, just literally got this out of the box. A used Squire 50s Classic Vibe. Made in China in 2008 which was the first year the Squier released this guitar. The previous owner relic the guitar lightly and I think he did a fairly good job. Once I got it out of the box, all I did was tune up the 9 gauge strings it came with and testing it here with you guys. Real short test with selector in the middle. I just wanted to hear it for the first time with you all. Will do a thorough review soon.

Glarry GTL $89 guitar with shipping included!
I only played the neck position for this demo. I had to set up the guitar as the action was super high. Changed the 9 guage to 10 gauge DAdario strings. Neck is thick like 50s telecasters and super straight! I was amazed at the sound it made! It was not well boxed and guitar has some small nicks! I guess it is now a relic! LOL! This will be a keepr! Hope you like the jazz sound.
