Notes on the Demo
I recorded the demo with a Camera and just used the Camera audio for this video. So you'll notice the demo "playback" audio has poor quality.
You'll also notice background "hissing" noise during the demo "playback" (in practice the background noise is not as loud as you'll hear it in this video). You can use any DAW "noise removal" effect to remove the "hissing noise".

Remove LAV MIC background "hissing noise" with Audacity
This is a quick "How To" video for removing background noise with Audacity.
While I was testing out my new LAV MIC I noticed that sometimes I would get a background "hissing noise" and sometimes I would not get a background "hissing noise". For my specific setup, I noticed the "hissing noise" when I connected directly to my iPhone. I did not get the "hissing noise" when I connected directly into my MacBook. In any case, background noise is easy enough to remove.
I did this "How To" with Audacity as its freeware, easy enough to learn - so anyone can do this.

Railroad Riff
Railroad Riff is based on a D-G-A7 guitar “lick” that I heard on a David Bromberg album. I tried to learn the “lick” by listening to the song – but I just could not see how to play it. A short while later, I went to a Randy Newman concert where Bromberg was the opening act. At one point in Bromberg’s performance he walked up to the front center of the stage and played a song that had the guitar “lick”. Fortunately, my seat was close enough to the front of the stage so I could watch how he “pulled apart” the D major chord. After seeing how he played it (and with a lot of practice) I was able to play a version that is pretty close.
Why Railroad? There was a verse in the song about a train – seems to fit the Riff
Guitar Notes: Low “E” tuned to “D”. For TE fans there is a bit of a “Boom Chick” thing going on.

Mono vs Stereo recordings with SM81 and NT1 microphones
In this video, I compare recordings using 1 mic (i.e., Mono), with recordings using 2 mics (i.e., Stereo). I recorded 4 riffs on acoustic guitar and did NOT apply any effects (e.g., EQ, Compression, ReVerb...). So you’ll be hearing the “raw” sound, as it was captured by the mics. And as far as treatment goes, in my home studio I have “Bass Traps” in the corners, and an acoustic blanket covering one wall.
