5 Mistakes I made on the 'Dome of the Rock'! (#19)
Mueza Mueza, a Muslim commentator pointed out 5 Glaring Mistakes I made concerning the 'Dome of the Rock' video I put up. I've never been SO embarrassed.
1) He believed that I said that Abd al-Malik was the 2nd in the Umayyad line, but I really said that he was the 2nd in the Marwanid line. I also didn’t say that he created Muhammad, in fact I’m not even sure he wasreferring to Muhammad in his inscriptions. The prophet Muhammad we know today came along much later, in the 8th and 9th centuries.
2) Mueza Mueza thought that I believed Abd al-Malik created all 114 Surahs of the Qur'an, but I don't believe that at all. The fact that Muslims still can't even find 96% of the Qur'an by 721 AD, and that the 63 fragments they put forward for that time either haven't been studied, or are dated earlier, or there is mere speculation of their dates.
3) Mueza Mueza is correct in suggesting that the inscriptions on the Dome of the Rock are a reflection of Monophysite Christianity and other 7th century Christian sects debating on the nature of Jesus Christ. What Mueza Mueza forgets to mention is that while these make sense in a late 7th century environment, in that area, the notion that the Dome was built to commemorate Muhammad ascending the 7 heavens (known as the Mi'raj) do not, since there is nothing written about that event on any of those earlier inner ambulatory inscriptions.
4) Mueza Mueza assumed that I didn't know my Arabic scripts, attributing the script used on the inner ambulatory inscriptions to the Thuluth script, which was introduced by the Ottomans in the 15th century. He is correct, the Thuluth script is from the 15th century, but it has curved and oblique lines, unlike the Kufic script used on the inner ambulatories, which has straight and angular lines. He was confusing the outer 1876 AD inscriptions on the Dome, which do use the Thuluth script.
5) Mueza Mueza couldn't believe that the invading Crusaders would permit the inscriptions attacking Jesus Christ to remain in tact on the Dome of the Rock after they invaded in 1099 AD. But he is confusing the way Muslims act with how Christians act. Unlike Muslims, most (not all), Christian conquerors retained in tact what was already there, so that most scholars today believe the inner inscriptions are the original ones.
Therefore, I do believe I have been absolved of all the supposed Mistakes which were attributed to me. Whew!

'Muhammad' was JESUS in Syro-Aramaic texts! (#17)
It looks like we have further Proof that 'The Praised One' in both the Qur'an & the Dome of the Rock was really referring to Jesus, and not a prophet named Muhammad!
Once we return to the Syriac Aramaic writings from which those who put the Qur'an together borrowed so much of their material, we find that the reference to 'Muhammad' in those writings had nothing to do with a Muslim prophet named 'Muhammad' at all, but almost uniquely referred to the Christian Byzantine Jesus!
It is because of the very learned and linguistically adept scholarship of men like Christoph Luxemburg and Karl-Heinz Ohlig, that we have been recently introduced to the source for this term (see their books: 'The Syro-Aramaic Reading of the Koran' by Christoph Luxemburg, and 'The Hidden Origins of Islam' edited by Karl-Heinz Ohlig and Gerd R. Puin).
This then helps us make sense of why so many of the inscriptions on the Dome of the Rock are centered on, and confronts the person of Jesus, his divinity, and the trinity.
Thus, the term 'Muhammad' was meant to refer not to a man, but to 'The Praised One', who is the 'Servant of God', who of course was Jesus.
Since so much of the Qur'an was borrowed from these earlier Christian Syro-Aramaic readings, it stands to reason that we return to them to then understand, not only the inscriptions, but the Qur'an itself.
Once we do, so many of the difficult passages in its pages then become understandable.
Once again, when we find curious and anachronistic references in the Qur'an and in the Standard Islamic Narrative which make no sense, or are historically not viable, because they were written during the 8th century and later, the best thing to do is simply return to the century the events they talk about took place, the 7th century, and follow where the evidence leads in that century.
For those who would like to download a PDF copy of Christoph Luxenburg's "Syro-Aramaic Reading of the Koran" you can do so here: https://ia800409.us.archive.org/1/ite...

Muhammad may not be on the Dome of the Rock! (#16)
Here's another 'million-dollar-question'...do you think the 'Dome of the Rock' may refer to Muhammad?
For Muslims, the Dome of the Rock is the 3rd holiest shrine in Islam, as it was constructed by Abd al-Malik in 691 AD to supposedly commemorate Muhammad's journey from Jerusalem to the 7 heavens, so they certainly think this building was put up for that event.
Yet, the earliest inscriptions which can be found on the inner and lower ambulatories should be replete with references to this event, but they say nothing about it.
In fact, they all confront the divinity of Jesus, his son-ship, and the trinity, suggesting that the building was erected by Abd al-Malik to attack the Byzantine Christians at that time, who came to the Church of the Sepulcher for their pilgrimage.
The Dome of the Rock is built above it, looking down at it, with a Qibla (the whole citadel is a Qibla) facing Petra, not Mecca.
What's fascinating, according to Murad, though the inner inscriptions do refer to 'Muhammad', and introduce the 'Shahada', these references, he believes are not to any man named Muhammad, but mean in Arabic "the praised one", which, he believes, could be referring to Jesus, or even Abd al-Malik instead!
Where do you stand on this issue?
So, the question you need to ask is whether you believe these inscriptions on the Dome of the Rock refer to the prophet Muhammad, or to Jesus, or even to Abd al-Malik?
Let's hear your opinions below...

So, is Muhammad's name even in the Qur'an? (#15)
What do you think? Is Muhammad's name NOT in the Qur'an?
How could Muhammad's name not be there?
He's the prophet of Islam, whose name is in the 'Shahada', the 'statement of faith' for all Muslim!
Yet, his name is found only 4 times in the Qur'an (see Surahs 3:144; 33:40; 47:2; and 48:29), and even the context of those 4 verses may not have to do with any man named Muhammad at all!
They could be referring to Jesus Christ!
The fact that we don't know when the Qur'an was written, or when these 4 verses were added to the Qur'an, doesn't help us come to any quick answers.
It could be that the man Muhammad was not introduced into the Qur'an until the mid 8th century, as the rock inscriptions suggest he was chosen as a prophet for the Umayyads around 730 AD, which would mean that he could have also been added to the Qur'an at about this time.
Yet, this is about a century after the Muhammad of the Traditions died!
We don't know enough yet.
Nonetheless, the fact that little is known about him even in the Qur'an suggests that 'the book and the man' have much yet to tell us.

Muhammad's BEST support is the WRONG MAN! (#14)
It looks like the 'Doctrina Iacobi' has the wrong man, at the wrong time, and in the wrong place!
In their desperation, Muslims claim that the 'Doctrina Iacobi', a Greek Christian polemical tract from Carthage (Tunis), but written in Palestine, by a Christian apologist, proves Muhammad's existence.
Why? Because it refers to a ‘Saracen’ prophet, with a sword, who has the ‘Keys of Paradise, so who else would fit these categories?
But it is clear that it has numerous problems:
1) If he was a Saracen prophet, then he wouldn't be able to say "the Christ (which is ‘Christos’ in Greek, or ‘Mashiah’ in Hebrew), who was to come". Certainly Muhammad couldn't, since in Surah 33:40 it is very clear that he was the final prophet.
2) It assumes ‘Muhammad’ was alive in 634 AD, but the Traditions say he died in 632 AD!
3) This prophet ‘has the keys of paradise’ which confronts the Islamic Traditions.
4) This prophet ironically fits a Judeo-Christian Monotheist background.
5) This prophet has the ‘Keys of Paradise’ (which is from Matthew 16:19), and refers to Peter’s papal authority in the Catholic Church.
6) This prophet spoke Aramaic, and not Arabic. Yet, Jews wouldn’t know Arabic, and Muhammad wouldn’t have known Aramaic.
My conclusions:
There is no reference to the name Muhammad in this document, as well as no reference to this prophet being a Muslim, or belonging to the religion of Islam, nor any reference to the city of Mecca, nor of his book the Qur’an; yet these are the areas Muhammad would have claimed for himself.
It seems that he could be almsot anybody!
In fact, he sounds more like an Arab/Christian brigand, employing the status of a prophet to gain himself more credibility and authority.
There’s just nothing Muslim about him!
So, the ‘Doctrina’ cannot support Muhammad in the 7th century either!

Muhammad's 'Constitution' is likewise a 'Sham'! (#13)
So, is Muhammad's 'Constitution of Medina' historical, or is it simply another fake?
The 'Constitution of Medina', according to the Standard Islamic Narrative (SIN), is a document supposedly written by Muhammad as an agreement between the 3 major groups living in Medina in 622 AD, the Ansar (native Arabs), the Jewish families, and the newly arrived 'Muhajiroun' (Muhammad's followers from Mecca).
Today Muslims believe that the Constitution is a “model for all of mankind”, and many would like to use it today as a constitution for everyone.
But there are many problems with it:
1) It is pro-Jewish, yet there is no Jewish record of it, which the Jews would have certainly retained, since it would have helped them greatly with the many troubles they have encountered in the past 1400 years at the hands of Muslims.
2) More problematic, there is no archaeological evidence of any Jews living in Medina at all that early, and that far south, so they certainly couldn't have been party to such a constitution.
3) It contradicts the Sira and the Hadith’s treatment of Jews, which is much more cruel in their punishments of Jews.
4) The Isnads (chain of names) for the Constitution are confused, with different versions contradicting each other, suggesting they were created sometime in the 9th century.
5) The Qur’an does not refer to any Constitution made in Medina, yet it would since it was so important for Muhammad's role so early on.
6) From an internal analysis, no Jew would ever sign a treaty which gave Muhammad the authority between man and God, nor would I if I were there at that time.
7) The first time it even appears is in the Sira of Ibn Hisham in 833 AD, a good 200 years later, which is much too late to be authentic.
8) Muslims shouldn’t accept the treaty, as it contradicts so much of the Qur’an’s and the Tradition's view of Jews, and makes the historical credibility for those traditions likewise problematic.
My conclusion:
The Historians (Dr Hoyland, and Dr Andrews) consider it a fraud because there were no Jews that far south in the early 7th century, and the only source for the Constitution comes from the much later 9th century Muslim Traditions (thus, too late and too far away), and I trust their research.
I, like them, conclude that the 'Constitution' is ‘legendary’.
The ‘Constitution’, consequently, cannot support any notion that Muhammad existed in the 7th century.

10 reasons Christianity beats Islam (3): Reasons 6-10!
Christianity vs Islam, Part 3
To know more about the amazing 'Revolution Church' in Salina, Kansas, where these videos were recorded last week, and hear their pastor Jeff Peipho, go to their YouTube site at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCULE...
In this 3rd talk we looked at the last 5 areas: The Church, the State, a Simple-Lifestyle, the Washing of feet, and Salvation.
When we looked at the Church we saw that Christ redefined the church in Matthew 18:19 as anywhere there are 2 or 3 gathered "in His name". That means it's not a church building, but a people. And it can be found anywhere there are 2-3 people who love Jesus Christ. How do you destroy that kind of church, not built with mortar, but built upon a relationship.
When we consider the State, we look to Matthew 22:21 where Christ introduced a Separation between the State and Church. This means that we have nothing to do with the State as our remit is completely different. The state has to confront militarily, and police, while the church is to do nothing of the kind, and is responsible to bring people to Christ, and "equip the saint" to follow Christ in everything they do.
As far as the way we should live, Christ says in 1 John 2:15-17 that we are to live a 'simple lifestyle', so not to build up treasures in this life, but seek to build up treasures in the next.
In John 13:4-5 Christ introduced the practice of washing each other's feet as a sign of humility, and exemplified it Himself by washing His disciples feet. This suggests that we are to be servants to everyone, and the dictum that "the first shall be the last, and the last shall be the first" is a corollary to that practice.
And finally, in John 3:16 we find Christ saying that Salvation comes not by doing good works, but simply by believing that God sent His Son to die on the cross and rise again, and all we have to do is exactly that...believe in Christ's death on the cross and subsequent resurrection from the dead, and we will be saved.
These last 5 areas stand in direct contrast to that which Muslims believe and practice. You then are called on to decide which you want to follow...the Gospel of Jesus Christ, or the beliefs and practices of Muhammad, and of Islam.
The choice is yours...

10 reasons Christianity beats Islam (2): Reasons 4-5!
Christianity vs Islam: Part-2
To know more about the amazing 'Revolution Church' in Salina, Kansas, where these videos were recorded last week, and hear their pastor Jeff Peipho, go to their YouTube site at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCULE...
In this 2nd talk we look at 2 more areas of difference: Peace and Women.
It is clear that the Qur'an is definitely more violent than the Gospel of Jesus Christ, who calls us to lay down our swords and be people of peace, as He was the paradigm of peace.
Jay goes through the 4 problem passages in the New Testament where Muslims claim Jesus was violent, and responds to each of them.
He then confronts the 3 supposed "peaceful verses" which Muslims claim are in the Qur'an, and debunks them, followed by referencing 4-5 of the over 150 violent verses throughout the Qur'an, many of which give authority for the violence we find Muslims perpetrating in the world today.
Concerning women, it is clear that Muslim men, according to the Qur'an, can engage in both 'Halala Marriages' (Surah 2:230) and temporary 'Muta Marriages' (Surah 2:24).
Muslim men can also have up to 4 wives according to Surah 4:3 (something not permitted Muslim women), and can beat their wives if they think they disobey (Surah 4:34). Marital rape is also sanctioned in Surah 2:223.
Therefore, in both of these two areas above, violence and women, the Bible proves to be by far the more relevant today than the Qur'an.
Why then do Muslims still go to the Qur'an for their authority? Why don't they simply come back to the most relevant book in the world today, and every day, for anyone and for everywhere? Come on home to the 'bigger and the better book', the Bible.

10 reasons Christianity beats Islam (1): Reasons 1-3!
Christianity vs Islam, which is more relevant today?
In this new series, preached Sunday the 2nd of May at the "Revolution Church" in Salina Kansas, Jay looks at the first 3 areas between Christianity and Islam: God, Jesus, and Revelation.
To know more about the amazing 'Revolution Church' in Salina, Kansas, and hear their pastor Jeff Peipho, go to their YouTube site at: https://www.youtube.com/c/RevolutionC...
In this first of three sermons, Jay begins by pointing out clearly that Christianity does not share the same God as Islam. Not only does the Muslim god not have a personal name (Allah is simply a title which means "the god"), their god is incapable of coming to earth, and of having a personal relationship with us, face-to-face.
Our God, however, not only has a personal name ("Yahweh"), he can enter time-and-space and come to earth, and therefore, is perfectly capable of having a personal relationship with us, something He did many times throughout history (known as 'Theophanies').
When we look at the second category, Jesus, it is also clear that the "Isa" of the Qur'an is nothing like the "Yesuah" of the Bible (the true and historical Arabic name for Jesus), as Isa spends much of his time as a child doing odd things (making birds from clay), and as an adult denies his divinity, and then refuses to die on the cross, but has another die in his place (see Surah 4:157).
Moving to the third category, we look at the Bible vs the Qur'an, where there simply are no comparisons between the two.
Anyone can open a Bible in their own language, read it, understand it, and then exegete it, in order to apply it to their lives today, something Muslims cannot do with the Qur'an, a book which can only be understood in Arabic, has no chronology, with stories which don't begin or end, a book which is merely meant to be memorized in a language most Muslims don't even understand (only 15% of Muslims even speak Arabic).
The Bible, in contrast has complete stories, so that anyone can read it, understand it, exegete its content, and then apply it to their daily lives.
In fact, because it is so easy to read and understand, the Bible is supposed to used as a textbook on how to live today, whereas Muslims have to go to their Traditions (Sira, and Hadith) to do the same.
In conclusion, our God, our Jesus and our Bible are better and more relevant than anything Islam can offer, so come home to Jesus and His Gospel...the choice is all yours.

6 Areas where Islam fails, & Christianity always WINS!
At the conference in California where Jay and David debated, Jay was asked to finish up the day's proceedings with a final talk, looking at why we always win as Christians.
This is his 30-minute talk where he unpacks 3 major areas, made up of 6 categories, that we as Christians always win against Islam, which include:
1) God: Looking at the God of Islam and Christianity internally (Allah vs Yahweh), and externally (a historical critique of both Gods), the Christian God, Yahweh, always wins.
2) The Book: Looking at the revelations of Islam and Christianity internally (Critiquing what the Qur'an and the Bible say), and externally (applying a historical critique to both books), the Bible always wins.
3) The Man: Looking at Muhammad and Jesus internally (ascertaining who is more relevant today), and externally (applying a historical critique to them both), Jesus always wins.
In every category, the God, the Book and the Man of Christianity wins hands down.
Come on home!

Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Holy, holy is He
Sing a new song to Him who sits on

You are my everything and I will adore You
Clothed in rainbows of living color
Flashes of lightning, rolls of thunder
Blessing and honor strength and glory and power be
To You: the only wise King
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty
Who was and is and is to come
With all creation I sing praise to the King of kings
You are my everything and I will adore You
Filled with wonder, awestruck wonder
At the mention of Your name

Such a marvelous mystery
Oh, You're worthy, mystery
You are worthy
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty
Who was and is and is to come
With all creation I sing praise to the King of kings

Lyrics:
Amazing grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I'm found
Was blind, but now I see
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed
My chains are gone
I've been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy reigns
Unending love, amazing grace
The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures
[2x]
My chains are gone
I've been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy reigns
Unending love, amazing grace
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow
The sun forbear to shine
But God, Who called me here below,
Will be forever mine.
Will be forever mine.
You are forever mine.

Lyrics:
Be still, there is a healer
His love is deeper than the sea
His mercy, it is unfailing
His arms are a fortress for the weak
Let faith arise
Let faith arise
I lift my hands to believe again
You are my refuge, You are my strength
As I pour out my heart, these things I remember
You are faithful, God, forever
Be still, there is a river
That flows from Calvary's tree
A fountain for the thirsty
Your grace that washes over me
Let faith arise
Let faith arise
I lift my hands to believe again
You are my refuge, You are my strength
As I pour out my heart, these things I remember
You are faithful, God
You are faithful, God, forever
I lift my hands to believe again
You are my refuge, You are my strength
As I pour out my heart, these things I remember
You are faithful, God, forever
Let faith arise, let faith arise
Open my eyes, open my eyes
Let faith arise, let faith arise
Open my eyes, open my eyes
I lift my hands to believe again
You are my refuge, You are my strength
As I pour out my heart, these things I remember
You are faithful, God, forever
And I lift my hands to believe again
You are my refuge, You are my strength
As I pour out my heart, these things I remember
You are faithful, God
You are faithful, God, forever
Let faith arise
Let faith arise

Lyrics:
You are my morning song
Though darkness fills the night
It cannot hide the light
Whom shall I fear
You crush the enemy
Underneath my feet
You are my sword and shield
Though troubles linger still
Whom shall I fear
I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
My strength is in your name
For you alone can save
You will deliver me
Yours is the victory
Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear
I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
And nothing formed against me shall stand
You hold the whole world in your hands
I'm holding on to your promises
You are faithful
You are faithful
Nothing formed against me shall stand
You hold the whole world in your hands
I'm holding on to your promises
You are faithful
You are faithful
You are faithful
I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side

VERSE 1
Our Father everlasting
The all creating One
God Almighty
Through Your Holy Spirit
Conceiving Christ the Son
Jesus our Saviour
CHORUS
I believe in God our Father
I believe in Christ the Son
I believe in the Holy Spirit
Our God is three in One
I believe in the resurrection
That we will rise again
For I believe
In the Name of Jesus
VERSE 2
Our Judge and our Defender
Suffered and crucified
Forgiveness is in You
Descended into darkness
You rose in glorious life
Forever seated high
BRIDGE
I believe in You
I believe You rose again
I believe that Jesus Christ is Lord
CHORUS 2:
I believe in life eternal
I believe in the virgin birth
I believe in the saints’ communion
And in Your holy Church
I believe in the resurrection
When Jesus comes again
For I believe in the Name of Jesus

Joy to the world, the Lord is come
Let earth receive her King
Let every heart prepare Him room
And heaven and nature sing
And heaven and nature sing
And heaven, and heaven and nature sing
Joy to the world, the Savior reigns
Let all their songs employ
While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat, repeat the sounding joy
Joy, unspeakable joy!
An overflowing well
No tongue can tell!
Joy, unspeakable joy!
It rises in my soul
Never lets me go!
He rules the world with truth and grace
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness
And wonders of His love
And wonders of His love
And wonders, wonders of His love!
