Kimber Customer Service Test of Kimber Camp Guard 10 - 1911 10mm Auto
This 10mm 1911 was sent in to resolve an intermittent "failure to feed" (FTF) issue. Following the repair, this is the quality control (QC) testing Kimber did before returning the firearm to the owner. The owner was provided with the video. The customer was not charged to ship the firearm or for the testing. Whatever else one might think about Kimber firearms, their customer service is excellent.

Ronald Reagan debates Robert Kennedy on Vietnam War - CBS News Town Meeting of the World – May 1967
In an early satellite debate, Republican Governor of California Ronald Reagan matched wits with Democratic Senator of New York Robert F. Kennedy over the Vietnam War. CBS billed the discussion as a “Town Meeting of the World” which was broadcast on May 15, 1967. Moderator Charles Collingwood hosted the debate from London, England with a panel of university students who asked questions of the American politicians connected remotely.
Reagan, newly elected as governor, was seen as more than a Republican, he was widely considered a conservative leader on the rise. Likewise, Kennedy was seen as assuming the role of the liberal champion within the Democrat Party. In a sense, some saw this a long awaited debate between American conservatives and liberals many hoped to see in a 1964 campaign between John Kennedy and Barry Goldwater. Of course, the Kennedy assassination meant that opportunity was lost.
Many liberals were unhappy with the outcome of the debate while conservatives were confirmed in their expectations for great things from Reagan. Media observers largely acknowledged Reagan demolished Kennedy. Even RFK, following the debate, admonished his aides for getting him into the debacle.
For those who are knowledgeable about Vietnam and the Kennedy Administration’s involvement in the Diem assassination, this is a fascinating debate.

Senator Barry Goldwater Acceptance Speech 1964 Republican National Convention in San Francisco, CA
This is the full acceptance speech by Senator Barry Goldwater at the 1964 Republican National Convention in San Francisco (actually Daly City), California. The convention was held at the Cow Palace in Daly City. This speech as delivered on July 16, 1964.
Goldwater, a US Senator from Arizona, was the leader of the conservatives. He is largely credited with winning the Republican nomination because New York Governor Nelson Rockefeller, the leading liberal contender for the nomination, self-destructed over the "wife-swapping" scandal. Whatever the facts of Rockefeller's personal life, his new wife giving birth during the campaign made many in the GOP uncomfortable nominating him.
The most famous line from the speech was, "I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue." While extremely popular with conservatives eager to hit back after so many liberal Republicans blasted conservatives for years over being "extremists," the line only perpetuated the fight over the direction of the party. The line tended to alienate and drive away liberals and moderates instead of unifying the party around a common philosophy. This appears obvious when panning certain delegations shows some delegates offering only a tepid response, while other groups of delegates react enthusiastically to the same line.
The delivery is not the best, but the speech includes many worthwhile lines outlining the agenda of a conservative government. Goldwater was serious, stern, and appeared on a mission. Viewers could be forgiven if they mistook Goldwater's sense or purpose for anger.
Reagan, a professional performer, a natural optimist, probably learned a great deal from Goldwater on what not to do. As fantastic as Reagan's October 1964 "A Time for Choosing" speech is, the delivery is also quite serious and stern. However, by the time then Governor Reagan returns to the national stage at the 1976 Republican National Convention, his speeches are optimistic, uplifting, and appeal to listeners personal sense of patriotism.

A Time for Choosing by Ronald Reagan - 1964 Presidential Campaign for Barry Goldwater for President
Televised Campaign Address for Goldwater Presidential Campaign - 10/27/64.
Frequently referred to by conservatives as "the speech" (proper title "A Time for Choosing"), many consider this one of the best speeches on conservative principles and the best speech ever given by Ronald Reagan. The appeal was probably narrower than the intended audience, but among conservatives the speech still resonates.
Much of the content is timeless - as applicable today as when delivered in 1964.

Morning in America - short film from 1984 Republican National Convention Reagan-Bush '84 Re-election
This is the short film/infomercial/documentary complimenting the very successful Morning in America ad that set the tone for the landslide re-election victory of President Ronald Reagan in 1984. This was shown during the August 1984 Republican National Convention in Dallas, Texas. The Reagan-Bush84 campaign presented a positive, uplifting, patriotic, and inspiring vision of where America was headed with Ronald Reagan as president. This film and the accompanying ad was a key part of this messaging.
Within political advertising circles, the 1 minute ad this film is a companion of is considered a masterpiece now used as a descriptor for a genre of ads. Beyond campaign mechanics, the ad successfully captured an attitude, a feeling of renewed hope and patriotism so pervasive among Americans Republican Ronald Reagan won convincing victories in deep Democrat strongholds like Massachusetts, winning every state in the union, less Minnesota - the home state of the Democrat. This 18 min film elaborates and expands on the messaging of the 1 minute ad.

Gabi nurses two kittens who refuse to be weened
Gabi (Gabrielle) is still nursing Coco (black kitten). The vet told me I need to force Coco to be weened. Right.
After a 6-7 week absence, Gigi (white kitten from the same litter) was adopted the day after the vet told me to ween Coco. Gabi was confused. She didn't fully remember Gigi, but she kept smelling Gigi, then Coco, then Gigi, then Coco again like she was confused. Over a couple of days she mostly accepted Gigi. At the same time, she stopped feeding Coco, so win-win, right?
Then, this morning I rolled over and found Gabi breastfeeding both Coco and Gigi. All three seem quite content regardless of what the Vet says.
We'll try again tomorrow.

Balancing liberty with order Goldwater Republican National Convention speech 1964
Clip from Senator Barry Goldwater's 1964 acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention at the Cow Palance near San Francisco, California.
"And this party, with its every action, every word, every breath, and every heartbeat, has but a single resolve, and that is freedom -- freedom made orderly for this Nation by our constitutional government; freedom under a government limited by the laws of nature and of nature's God; freedom balanced so that order lacking liberty will not become the slavery of the prison shell; balanced so that liberty lacking order will not become the license of the mob and of the jungle."
