It's a "GO"!
The project is no in "go" mode! After speaking with both the videographer and the web designer, we now have a plan of action and a timeline. I'll be looking at the platform for educational delivery as well as a payment integrator to make it as efficient as possible and we'll be sure to make the program accessible in as many ways as we can.
There's a lot of work to be done but it's work that NEEDS to be done and a topic that has been necessary for a good while. Thanks for supporting me in this endeavor and send all the positive energy and prayer my way as I'll be working on this as well as all the OTHER things in my life. Because busy people LOVE being busy.
Looking forward to seeing you online!

It's a Kind of Magic
Every day we have a chance to do something new and exciting. Don't let other people's opinions about what YOUR life should be limit you. Be willing to follow your passions, step out of your comfort zone, and push you way through the fear...

22.06.07 Refreshed!
Sometimes you need to just take off. I had a four-day deadline-free weekend and I feel so good now. My head is back in the game and my body is rested.
Do it for yourself! We work so hard that it's important to replenish the well, as it were.

22.05.16 - Celebrate Deadline Accomplishments
We don't often get a chance to take a breather - we're always on deadline. But sometimes it's necessary to step back and say, "Whoa! I finished this."
There will always be another transcript, but savor that feeling of getting a big project done. We don't realize, sometimes, how the pressure of deadlines brings stress until we sense the relief afterward.
Celebrate the days when you've cleared the decks. Take the time do nap, read a book, go for a hike.
**note: this was supposed to cross-post on Locals (6Degrees of Tori) but I'm getting error messages.

22.05.12 - Avoid Procrastination
Much like my discussion about prioritizing, sometimes we can get bogged down in our pages and focus solely on that high priority project. But often, other things fall by the wayside - cleaning, dishes, laundry - and we end up with an interesting living space. I know I'm guilty of cultivating dust bunnies (elephants?), piles of dishes, and a paucity of undergarments... but what happens when the house maintenance doesn't get done?!
As you know, we recently moved here... it was an estate sale and so we knew little to nothing about the house. Indeed, since a bank wasn't involved, our "inspection" was more of a cursory review. Well, today... the bug guy came and told us all three outbuildings are riddled with termites. Great. Good news, we caught it in time so as to avoid the buildings being destroyed; bad news, pretty darned expensive.
Remember to balance everything - sleep, work, diet, exercise, home maintenance. Easier said than done, but doing so could save some heartache. All I can say is "phew"!!!
22.04.18 Prioritizing
I'm a procrastinator but now that I spend a lot more time on projects with other people, I really need to get better at prioritizing projects.

The Value of Pro Bono and Giving Back
I was able to turn in the pro bono transcripts today - got the proofing back and was able to scan the exhibits. It was a pretty transcript! And I already got the "thank-you" notes from three of the five students. THIS is what makes volunteering so amazing. It feels good to share what we do with others. It may not "make you any money" but the goodwill that these students will take with them and the positive attitude that they have toward court reporters will stay with them in their minds through their careers. That is priceless. They will see us as a teammate in protecting the record and look to us to ensure the quality thereof. PRICELESS.

22.03.28 Post Convention Wrap-Up
Where I talk about how much we missed conventions and how wonderful it was to be a part of one again! 2022 VCRA Annual Convention in Lynchburg was simply outstanding - venue, food, presentations, social events - everything was pitch perfect for our return to in-person meetings.
