Rocket Launch & Re-entry Capsule Animation
A rocket launch is the process of propelling a spacecraft, such as a capsule, into the Earth's atmosphere or into outer space using a rocket. The launch process begins with the ignition of the rocket's engines, which generates a powerful thrust that lifts the capsule off the launchpad and into the air. As the rocket gains altitude, it sheds weight by shedding its stages, which are sections of the rocket that are no longer needed. This allows the rocket to travel faster and farther.
Once the capsule reaches orbit or its intended destination, it can then start the reentry process. Reentry is the process of returning a spacecraft from outer space back to Earth. The capsule, being the part of the spacecraft that carries the crew or payload, will use its own heat shield to protect itself and its occupants from the heat generated during reentry. The heat shield is designed to absorb and dissipate the heat, allowing the capsule to safely re-enter the Earth's atmosphere.
After reentry, a parachute system deploys to slow the capsule down and allow for a safe landing. The capsule can then be recovered and reused for future missions. The design and materials of a capsule vary depending on the mission and the manufacturer, but most capsules are built to withstand the harsh environment of reentry and landing.
